  • We are on Penang Hill, Bukit Bendera on the island of Penang in Malaysia, South East Asia. In this video we will show you Penang Hill and many of the Attractions on it, Penang Hill is Not Just Any Hill in Malaysia! Our tour starts at the foot of Penang Hill just a short drive from Penang´s main city centre George Town. We will be riding the the Funicular Train that shuttles people up and down Penang Hill at lightning speed. The Penang Hill Funicular Railway was opened in 1923 as a two-section railway, and just the high speed ride on the Funicular is a worthwhile Penang experience to take home with you!
Penang Hill Attractions covered in this video include the Skywalk, the Skydeck with its beautiful view over Georgetown, the Second Generation Coach (one of the original Funicular train carriages used to transport people up and down Penang Hill), the Penang Hill Mosque (Masjid Bukit Pendera), the Sri Aruloli Thirumugan Temple (unfortunately it was closed for renovations when we visited Penang Hill), Bel Retiro Gate House, The Habitat, the Heritage Post Box, the Cannon (32-Pounder Cannon), the Guard House, the El Walk and the Monkey Cup Garden. We spent the day Hiking on Penang Hill and at the end of the day we were driven back by pickup to the Funicular Railway area. For those of you who have walking disabilities there are Chauffeured Golf Kits available to take visitors on a sightseeing tour on Penang Hill. Penang Hill with its Viewpoint overlooking George Town is one of the Top Penang Island Attractions and well worth a visit when you visit this Penang, Malaysia.
This footage is filmed in 4k Ulta HD Quality on Penang Island in Malaysia in 2019.
THREE MUST SEE / MUST DO ATTRACTIONS ON PENANG HILL
    1. Ride the Funicular Train to the Top of Penang Hill
    2. Admire the View of George Town from the hill (This is Penang´s Best View Point)
    3. DO NOT miss walking on the Curtis Crest Treetop Walk
Wiki writes about Penang Hill, "Penang Hill is a hill resort comprising a group of peaks on Penang Island, Malaysia. It is located within the Air Itam suburb, 9 km (5.6 mi) west of the center of George Town. Penang Hill is also known by the Malay name Bukit Bendera, which actually refers to Flagstaff Hill, the most developed peak. One of the peaks is known as Strawberry Hill, which was also the name of a house owned by Francis Light, founder of Penang colony.."
Wiki writes about Penang, "Penang is a Malaysian state located on the northwest coast of Peninsular Malaysia, by the Malacca Strait. It has two parts: Penang Island, where the capital city, George Town, is located, and Seberang Perai on the Malay Peninsula. They are connected by Malaysia's two longest road bridges, the Penang Bridge and the Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah Bridge; the latter is also as of May 2019 the longest oversea bridge in Southeast Asia.."

We thought the tickets to the Habitat were expensive too but figured you can’t come that far and not do it. We found the fast track tickets for the funicular handy as there were a lot of people queued up when we were there. Will definitely have to come back to do some of the walks and see the things we missed 😊

This was superb absolutely loved it . Penang is a place I’m desperate to visit and I may even do a week in kl and a week in Penang . We’re a bit funny as once we unpack a suitcase we don’t want to touch it again untill we have it come home and hate packing unpacking but I feel we must do this . I will chat with mags . Thanks again this was so so helpful 👍 enjoy rest of week

Good Evening Kiero & Mags! We are both happy to hear that you enjoyed the video. By the sounds of what you have told us in the past our holiday routines are very much the same and based on that we are sure that you would enjoy spending a day like this in Penang. We are also similar in the way that we like to stay in one place and therefore recommend staying in KL longer than a week and there go back and visit Penang at a later stage. There is so much to do and see in Kuala Lumpur, remember that :-D Have a nice evening! Kind Regards from Copenhagen - Maxi and Maro :-D

I would suggest just 4 max 5 days in KL then spend 9~10 days in Penang.
True there is much to do and see in KL, but the same.goes for Penang however KL can be just another city, with its concrete forests.
Penang is an awesome place. Also, lots to see and live.... you need to relax and settle into her vibe and stride. It is a living museum.

Penang Hill does look like it has Panoramic View
So your originally from South Africa 🇿🇦 ... even since I was a kid I wanted to climb Table Top Mountain ( as my best mate in my younger teenage years was a South African who moved to Australia 🇦🇺 ) ... anyway I spend 6 months in Namibia 🇳🇦 in 1989 with UNTAG - United Nations 🇺🇳 & during this time , because i was with the Australian Army - I wasn’t allowed to travel to South Africa due of the apartheid
Now I’m residing in the Philippines 🇵🇭 during the Coronavirus
I was also in Denmark 🇩🇰 in 1991 during a holiday around Scandinavia & down to the Netherlands 🇳🇱
Hopefully my next trip is Malaysia 🇲🇾 or Taiwan 🇹🇼
