  • I'd have to say my one of my favorite parts about traveling around the U.S. is finding awesome fishing spots in places where you'd least expect them!
Have you ever heard of a naturally reproducing Trout fishery in the middle of the desert? No? I hadn't either!
If you want to learn more about booking a trip like this, check out leesferry.com/... There are campgrounds, cabins, and even land you can camp on for FREE (that's what I'm doing) all around this amazing place!

Do you think the fishing is still good there when its august, and pretty hot?

The water will still be very cold. I would assume it’s a great fishery year round!

Set your drag a little tighter bro. Once hooked then loosen drag

Last I checked Lee's Ferry is still in the Glen Canyon national park, not the Grand Canyon. I used to spend all my weekends down there.

Lee’s Ferry is recognized as the very start of the Grand Canyon! Not the entire recreation area, but the river itself.

Lees ferry is my favorite spot! I take my boat up to 9 mile and camp at horseshoe bend. The fishing is great upriver!

Back in the late 80's, when you could use live bait up river from Lee's Ferry, we would thread a night crawler up the line so the hook came out the backend of the worm. A small Aberdeen hook. Used an ink refill as a threading tool. Couple of split shot and just let it drift down off the bottom. Lost an estimated 7lb'er once. Had him right up to the boat before he threw the hook. Hair jigs work well to.

I heard the Trout used to be GIANT years ago due to the nutrients that came out of the lake above!

@@theu.s.ofangling1344 the flow from the dam was more consistent, thus the vegetation was thicker, in the moss was fresh water shrimp, the trout thrived. my mom caught a 33 inch 12 lb rainbow, our biggest brook trout was just over 5 lb, it was amazing fishing, best time of year was february-april
