Absolutely compelling opening: "Anything is bound to happen within the next half--hour!" Classic Anderson! For those kids who only know CGI effects: you don't know what you're missing! I also saw Captain Scarlet via Finnish scifi channel between 2006 and 2009, before the channel ceased (while that same channel re-aired classic Thunderbirds, not any other supermarionation creation was shown, but Anderson’s Spacestation Alfa was aired along with old Doctor Whos).

When I saw a soldier wearing a helmet, wearing sunglasses, and chewing gum, he looked with a moody face, saying, "There is no reason for the Japanese to lose to such sloppy guys." People who grew up with modern CGI based effects have no idea how incredible Gerry Anderson series were to kids in the 60's.
Ggi is soooo nillies , scale models is the new trend
Ray Harryhausen was also a genius with claymation special effects. Prehistoric beasts. Winged monsters. Aliens. Mythical creatures of legends. Gods.
@@alexphillips4644 What about Kubrick? There was zero CGI in 2001 A Space Odyssey. The model work and special effects are almost God like.
