Beautiful dolls, Cheryl! I agree with everything you said. Being on TH-cam and Instagram really made me want more dolls than I probably would have gotten otherwise. But like you, the majority of my dolls are second hand finds, and many of them were somewhat rough when I "adopted" them! Yes, spending time cleaning and restoring dolls really does make one appreciate them more, plus you get a nice core memory of each one that you lovingly refurbish. I am hoping to have more restraint this year, even with the second hand dolls - but I can't make any promises, lol! However, I do donate or sell for a nominal price when I need to thin out my collection, just because I want them to have good new homes. Happy Valentine's day!
Hi Lora, I know we both have similar views on the fun of collecting and rescuing old dolls. Each one is a little treasure ready to be discovered and have her moment to shine! That is so nice that you donate dolls too. I re-sell some of mine to keep things under control, but it's difficult to thin them out as I get more dolls that I truly want in my collection. Your dolls are charming! I agree with you on how to budget for dolls & their accessories. In my doll collection I have 5 American Girl dolls. One is a Pleasant Company doll that was my niece's who is 36 now & gave her to me. She is Kirstin & in perfect condition but missing her bonnet. One AG doll I bought for $5 at Goodwill in South Florida & I redressed her in AG pilot uniform I bought. She had a homemade dress on when I bought her. I enjoy your videos. Happy Birthday! My birthday is in February too. Big 70! Hard for me to believe. I feel like 40.

Happy Birthday, Cheryl!!! I agree 100% on what you said... especially buy what you LOVE!! My mother-in-law wanted to buy me a brand new Wellie Wisher. Even though I think they have very pretty faces and hair, I had to say no. Their small bodies are not desirable for sewing projects. I can only focus on the 18” and their sewing/knitting patterns are easily found. I am looking forward to your future “fashion shows” with new sewn clothes. Must ask...Did you buy that pink ribbon that you put in Samantha”s hair or was that her accessory? I think it is a clever look. I hope you get something special for your birthday 🎂 🎉 ❤ Chris Tina.
Hi Chris Tina, I think Wellie Wishers are cute too, but I agree that if they are not what you love or fits your needs then why waste yours or someone else's money? I have had family members offer to pick up dolls for me at thrift stores, but they are usually not the type I collect. It's so sweet that they think of me when they see dolls! To answer your question, the pink bow came with a baby outfit that I bought for one of my baby dolls. I had to tie it in the back to make it fit. Thanks for watching and commenting.
