OK, this is the one everyone's been waiting for. Just imagine the impact the R1S would have made if it had been released ahead of the R1T. Shorter wheelbase, 3-row seating, covered cargo area and less overall length with better approach/departure angles. Specs and features put the R1S right in the "Goldilocks Zone" - juusst right! Awesome review, Miles. 👍👍
I agree that Rivian should have led with this, Edd. The market's appetite for SUVs and the darling appeal of an EV coalesce for the right product at a prime time. The R1S is still relatively early to the segment, but rather than going after truck buyers, Rivian could have attacked a bigger segment.
R1T definitely looks like a traditional SUV with the blocky design vs curved design via Tesla & Mercedes. Not sure if I prefer it tho just because this shape is not as aerodynamic as Model X, and when dealing with these heavier EVs, efficiency is pretty important. Either way, glad to see more offerings from other brands in this segment as some people will want a traditional SUV design but electrified.
like it , short wheel base over the R1T ute , just wish it had a 2 row opt .for us who have no need , want ,or will ever use a 3rd row . I want cargo space , payload and towing id buy this over the gm ev SUV
A super great, comprehensive review. I would really like to see your review of the Ford Explorer EV that should release in the USA - I hope by the end of this year.
Nice vehicle. I wish the screens had some color variations to choose from as I feel the all white is to much. Is there a night mode at least? Safe Journey! CHOLULA!!!
Let's see the missing grab handle to help with entry and no way to turn off the brake regeneration and yes ditch the 3rd row maybe replaced with additional batteries. Self inflation/deflation tires? No rear steering tires and how about cold temperatures effective on batteries and how deep of water is acceptable for this ev. I hate the headlights , but that's a minor problem compared to the rest of my complaints. A diesel generator option would be @#@@@
Yeah it powerfull and all....but it is soul-less...it has the torque fun but not the V8 noise which connects you with the car. Its very nice for a utility vehicles tho...
Driving down a gravel access road is not off-roading and every other SUV that you mentioned is just as capable of doing this is this vehicle. We haven't seen the drive modes used properly and we haven't seen any off-roading. SMH
the way this man has come and has driven a lot of cars we all want, is just phenomenal. proud of this man fr
Thank you for the support!
That's not where you use drift mode. .what are you doing. Would love to see drift mode and the other modes used how they are supposed to be used.. smh

Love how you give full, clear and detailed review of R1S. Im a preorder holder.
Best demo of the the third row space I have seen. Clever using the split seats to show the difference in the second row position.
My very first electric SUV! Great job Miles.

Just incase no one’s told you today, I sincerely appreciate your videos. Such eye candy
Its better than petrol SUVs
Even though I like petrol more than electric but its cool

Great review of the Rivian R1S, MPH.
13:47 has the best ev acceleration
wow I didn't think these were being produced yet.

I think Rivian just rekt the competition with looks practicality and powertrain
Very good review. Thanks!
Give me this with a big beautiful Chevy 5.3 and I’m sold
To me it looks just like a Jeep Grand Wagoneer. And quite frankly I'd choose one of those over this any day
love this one!!
Rivian owns the electric car industry over Tesla in my opinion. I dislike electric cars but I make the expectation to Rivian.
Biggest flex nice bracelet, Oh this my car key lol
Rather shocked I don’t see many of them on the road comparing to the R1T. I’ve seen only two so far. But have seen many R1Ts.
They only came out a month or so ago. R1Ts have been out for close to a year.
@@charles_.l Ah gotchu, that’s good to know
Still early - we'll see a lot more soon
Man this video got me hyped up for delivery Oct-Dec 23 edit: got delayed to June of 2024… no longer hyped…
What config got delayed that long?
One question: how do you cancel the turn signal given the stock returns to the neutral position on its own?
You tap it down again
@@MilesPerHr Thank you!

CHOLULA!!!
Yes, the night mode goes black to be easier on the eyes
They made a significant software update to the suspension, can you make a new video.
Where is this off-road trail?
very cool!
good job !! beautiful car, even if a little too lon !! et bonjour de la Guadeloupe
I was in love with the car until I heard no apple car play like why are people still making cars with no apple car play 😭😭
Really cool vehicle, just wished it had a bit better range
Really cool vehicle, just wished it had a bit better horsepower
HOW DO YOU GET BETTER RANGE that range is good
That's kind of cool but I just wish it had a better mileage
Yea, 835hp isn't enough...
@@MilesPerHr how 835hp is pretty good especially on a suv.
I like this & consider buy Rivian R1S EV SUV.
The exterior of the Rivian looks very similar like a Jeep Wagoneer 2022
Do all the R1S have glass roofs? I’d prefer a metal one.
All have glass
Driving the R1S made me strongly reconsider getting the R1T instead. The R1T felt alot more enjoyable to drive.
Please do R1T
Already done! th-cam.com/video/VzgD65IVhT4/w-d-xo.html
When compared to the Rivian R1T, the Tesla Cybertruck's aerodynamic simulation produces a substantially poorer drag coefficient.
Model X is nearly half the price you quoted. Even the plaid version is only $86k (USD to be clear)
Извините что не по теме. Но я только сейчас узнал, что Вы и "Mobile Mama" муж и жена?!😍
That ride looks rough. Got seasick watching video. Got an answer why EVs typically don’t have HUDs??

on the bottom side of the second row climate control, there is another dc plug
@MilesPerHr the front end i do know is controversial
Model X looks better. But for Off-Roading, camping, and 3 row seating for a trip is better on the Rivian R1S.
The model x looking better is rather debatable
It does not look better than the Rivian...
@@mimidotcat it’s base on your preference

Looks more like an electric grand wagoneer
Idk it looks like small wagoneer
Nah, having just spent a week with the Wagoneer, it definitely looks better in person
