    That little fluffy rooster, running around trying to round up all "his girls", was simply adorable!

    The frizzled, plump-looking rooster that was scurrying, bobbing, and clucking about. He’s like a Pekingese dog in bird form.

    Thank you for your kind comment, enjoy your chicks. Bantam chicks are adorable. Keep them shut up at night away from predator's, watch for any red mite and enjoy their company and eggs.

    Which breeds are they please, I'm looking into getting a few, but having difficulty finding Plymouth buff. Because a search said these don't fly!? Ty fir sharing. Uk.

      They are all from local people, I think Silky is one type. I don`t think they are pedigrees. Try looking on the internet for Bantam clubs for more information. Also sites explaining "how to clip chickens wings to stop them from flying". Sorry I`m not very helpful.

      @@ASmileAdayful Lovely, have fun with them. Keep them safe from foxes & rats, if they start sitting on the eggs take them off several times a day if you don`t want baby chicks. Hope you get some tasty eggs x

    Do they lay in winter? My bantams don't, or very occasionally

    • @deirdreharness2701
      @deirdreharness2701  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      These Bantams only lay the odd egg in the winter. They are expected to lay more in the Spring. Apprentely there is an old saying "Chickens don`t like to get their feet wet and cold".
      In the Spring Bantams start to sit. Bantams need to be removed off thier nest several times a day, unless you want to have some chicks. Another saying is "Bantams don`t come off their nest when they are sitting and will sit until they die" They need to be looked after if sitting or removed from thier nest and eggs collected.
