Hello, I am in the process of buying my first Flip property in Toronto. It will be mostly a cosmetic renovation. Redoing the bathrooms ( no plumbing location changes ) , adding in some potlights, new doors, floors, paint, new kitchen. Would any of that require a permit ? Assuming no plumbing location change and no new electrical circuitry is added? Thank you in advance.
You’ll generally need electrical permit. If it’s all otherwise superficial cosmetic alterations with no removal of drywall or change of plumbing then no to the rest. But pit lights you would need. If you’re doing electrical work yourself on your own property you could pull your own permit and do the work yourself. Otherwise you need to hire someone licensed who can pull permits.
@@PropertyHustlers Thank you ! Thats good to know, I didn't know you also had to pull a permit to remove and redo drywall. Does that mean removal of partition walls need to be permitted as well ? What kind of building permit would that fall under ?
