Very interesting. I am sure the other shops may be more expensive, but great tour of the prices of various items at Aldi.. it is very similar to Lidl I would say.
I''m actually quite shocked at these prices! They are much cheaper than in the US. I would actually be saving a bunch of money living in the Grand Duchy.
Goodness my country is very expensive on groceries since Covid… I thought Luxembourg would be more expensive but it’s slightly cheaper than Botswana rn. Thanks for the video❤❤❤… so helpful
Housing is very expensive in Luxembourg, and some services are pricey as well. But when it comes to "everyday items" such as grocery, it's about the same prices as in neighboring countries. And fuel is cheaper; as I live in 'the other Luxembourg", i.e. the Belgian province of the same name, and a 20-minute drive to the Grand-Duchy, I have not filled in the tank of my car on my side of the border for years...
True, gas is cheapest (in EU) in Luxembourg i believe. Housing is expensive and shopping in general is expensive. Aldi is one of the ‘value for money’ stores and the prices there are very reasonable
@@junibenbongabong4730 Our go to shops for electronics are the following... Mediamarket, Amazon.de, HiFi... generally in that order.. You can also check the Mediamarket in Trier Germany as they might have more options and maybe better prices as well...
No kids, yet.. also it is not a comprehensive budget as some grocery items we buy monthly, some weekly.. but for a couple an estimate of 120-150 EUR per week for grocery would be a good ballpark..
Sure, we can try and come up with a video on housing.. ‘cheap’ housing is a big challenge in Luxembourg, but let’s see what we can do and find in our market research. Thanks for the suggestion 🙏🏻😊
Hi, it is great to see this video. I really would like to move to Luxembourg in October. Please share on cheap housing for rent or shared living accommodation for rent. Also available jobs.
I thought you said Luxembourg is really expensive? Groceries are CHEAP! I was expecting something crazy but you spent less than I would even converted to USD. 😂
I am from the Caribbean and I was waiting to see some extravagant prices and I am here saying let me come to the comment section to say how cheap the groceries are with and without conversion. Plus the salaries are way higher than here, so the groceries are dirt cheap.
@@cassdeco1484 true, it’s a rich country (on average) but the prices of groceries (at least at Aldi) are very very reasonable. I imagine Caribbean would be pretty expensive since it’s more difficult to transport stuff there?
@@Ciao.Namaste It's not difficult to ship stuff to the Caribbean, it's more or less a bit expensive to ship from some countries. Nonetheless, there are some factories within the Caribbean and they have trade agreements within CARICOM. The main reason for high prices is the countries customs/port charges.
Groceries? About 60-80 EUR a week should be okay for one person if you don’t go for the fancy stuff. Other living costs include rent etc - that varies a lot on location, square footage etc.. but at a very minimum it would be 1200-1500 for a studio in the city or nearby locations.. 1 bedroom would be 1500-2000 per month on average..

Hi! It depends on the industry, company, role etc. in general there are some unemployment benefits once you have worked for 12 consecutive months and have contributed to the social security system, but that is not really job security. I hope I answered the question.
Haha.. there are bread slicing machines in almost all supermarkets in Luxembourg. It’s great because you can pick a fresh loaf and slice it according to the desired thickness 😎 Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts here 😊🙏🏻
Just English is okay for like 20% of the jobs.. rest 80% would require French as well.. more than just the language, finding a job that is willing to sponsor a visa (work permit) can be challenging.. all the best
Thank you for your comment. I am sure there are opportunities in Luxembourg for cook/chef, but we are not sure about the visa requirements and job application process for that as of now. All the best.
u wanted to show cost of living in Luxembourg, so then y not show or tell us how much u spent, r we there to see or guess how much u spent…n wat was so hard saying u spent a certain amount so we know
That’s a fair point.. we talked about the cost of individual items .. you may choose to buy something or not, your cost would vary from another viewer depending on what all you buy.. so the cost of ‘our’ cart is irrelevant.. some people like guessing, it’s fun for them.. thanks for sharing your opinion and have a great rest of your day.. 🥂
@@AbbuSultan-n9n Hi! English is fine for day to day life as most people speak a certain level of English here, but for career opportunities not knowing French/German would severely limit the options in Luxembourg.
