  • Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) Chancellor Elwood L. Robinson cut the ribbon on June 8, 2018, to open H. Douglas Covington Hall, a $25 million living/learning community for first-time freshmen. The five-story residence hall will accommodate 291 students starting in August.
The residence hall features the living/learning design, with nine pods of between 14 and 17 double-occupancy bedrooms. Each pod has comfortable shared space for study and social interaction. Research finds that the pod design allows students to better get to know each other and engage at a higher level. #WSSUNews #BetheNext #WSSU22
