TH-cam's policies are also made from fertilizer, this video is a great method! It's much cleaner and has far less odour than the fertilizer method used by TH-cam. 👍
I love a completely normal video *ABOUT FERTILIZER TH-cam. THIS IS MY FAVORITE FERTILIZER-CENTRIC VIDEO. I SURE DO HOPE IT STAYS UP AND UNRESTRICTED FOR ME TO CONTINUE WATCHING FOR MY FERTILIZER NEEDS!!*
I started watching this channel at university when I was taking organic chemistry 11 or so years ago. Hands down the best chemistry channel on this platform. Excellent work.
By YT's hilarious "standards," we gotta restrict anything that involves sugar too. It's been known that many serial killers and other mass murderers had it in their blood stream at the time of their crime.
But watch calcium nitrate getting severely restricted in a short time. Nanny state isn't something that you can avoid by finding other, not yet restricted ways of doing what they don't want you to do.
Ive been watching these videos since the OG Days of Glowsticks and sneaking around behind the ex-lab’s nosier colleagues 😂 I was no older than 12 when I came across this channel, and I’m proud to say I’ll be a father in less than 3 months. Can’t wait to make glowsticks and fertilizer with them😊
I used this process with sodium carbonate and calcium ammonium nitrate and was able to get 147g (~58% yield). Very useful video indeed for some great fertilizer
@@YunxiaoChu It's the only thing besides grass and weeds that will properly grow in vegetable gardens on Denmark's west coast. The North Sea likes to spray salt water pretty far in land, to the point where even the ground water is slightly saline in these areas. And if you were looking for a source on the relation between kale (Brassica) and sea kale (Crambe maritima) are both of the Brassicaceae familty I suggest wikipedia. Sea kale is obviously more salt tolerant (in fact it will grow right up to the water line) than your normal kales and cabbages. Fun fact: They are close enough that they will cross pollinate, so if you're looking for a new type of kale that is particularly salt resistent
I have discovered your channel recently as I have stumbled into the wonderful world of amateur chemistry. This came as a result of thirst for knowledge to understand how my electrolytes worked during my last endeavor into the the fascinating hobby of electroplating. Thank you for all the work you do. Your content, whilst not as polished as some others, Is extremely well done, I find your content informative and to the point with minimum fluff. You consistently provide clear instructions and detailed explanations. I watch a many technical channels on YT as my hobbies and interests cover a lot of territory. I must say that yours is Quite possibly the best chemistry channel on the platform, for just pure knowledge conveyance and ease of absorption, well In my opinion anyways. Chemistry is amazing and I think you do an amazing job at instruction. Felt that needed to be said. Appreciate the hard work, Please Keep em' comin. Liked & Subscribed! Shout out from Canada! ❤ Thanks and I hope this goes viral on All the "prepper" channels 👍. It's quite amazing how you can find "nitrates" pretty easy. I've been using a local pool place for most of my supplies so I definitely appreciate your help in my pyrrrr'plant "fertilizer" experiments. Always fun learning chemistry ❤👍🇱🇷
Love NurdeRage! I have learned so much from this channel!! It was my first chemistry channel subscription and really got me into how cool it is about 7 years ago
I’m glad I’m not young. This world is too restrictive and authoritarian. When I got my drivers license 35 years ago, I remember driving to Central Hardware to look at chemicals and power tools. One thing I remembered most was the 50 pound bags of 99% ammonium nitrate for like $15! I wish I pounced on it. But at that time I could buy sodium nitrate at nurseries for $8 a 5 pound bag and potassium nitrate as a stump remover. I never imagined nitrates not being OTC. 🤦♂️
I may not need any fertilizer right now, but it's a good video. Hopefully The Algorithm sees that it's good educational content and makes it more visible
and , at the KCl methot , coudn't you use more pure CaCO3? i think is easyer (for me) to found more pure fertilizer CaCO3 that Calcium amonia nitrate and other question, can i make potassium nitrate by electrolisys or reacting KCl and NaNO3 ? thx
You make great content. Have you considered covering the (saving/reuse) of side-products/used reagents and the purifying/etc of these, when they can be salvaged or not? Keep up the great work, and have a great summer
Excellent fertilizer video. As long as certain code strings end up competing with normal fertilizers, I'll happily (Rewatch), TU, and comment to hopefully help out.
can i buy 50 kilos of potassium nitrate ,or i have to make multiple igniter to ignite air in multiple flasks ,but all these flasks are connected as on stream to make hno3 from air ,i got the idea
but how are you meant to get calcium nitrate? the sale off any nitrate is restricted in Australia. although not very well, you can just buy it online from china. is there really no way to just make the nitrate from atmospheric nitrogen gas, urea, or ammonia?
How easy is to process Calcium ammonium nitrate into Nitric acid? I assume the ammonia in HCl would make Ammonia chloride thus reducing the Nitric acid yield. It hard to get potassium nitrate or Magnesium nitrate.
But what if I've already seen it and want to watch it again? ;) A few practical videos and a snack help me get in the mood for filtering all the nonsense taking up my beakers.
I once had a plan (based on one of your early videos) to make potassium permanganate entirely out of garbage (not even household chemicals).... potassium nitrate was the thing that called a halt on my plan... the traditional method employing heaps of manure and buckets of stale urine just didn't seem that appealing.:)
There are versions of Stump remover being 100% potassium nitrate. Sodium nitrate can be bought from food bulk franchise sources, as it is used in pickling and curing.
First of all, great video even if you have to re-upload it 20 times. 👍👍👍 I simply can't understand why videos like this one are not only immediately demonetized, but in most cases completely deleted by YT, even though there are countless videos on YT that show the synthesis of an illegal stimulant in great detail. YT, in contrast, doesn't seem to be interested in this stimulant videos in the slightest. These videos are also deleted from time to time, but the channel in question simply re-uploads this videos after a short time. Not only do these clear violations of YT's guidelines seem to be pursued far less rigorously by YT than actual chemistry education videos, YT appears to show no interest in these stimulant videos at all and only reacts, if at all, after corresponding reports from YT users. YT appears to have double standards here.
TH-cam being youtube again. Every day I check my subscription list and it didn't even show this video, but just showed it on the 'home' page... even with the bell set..
I'll watch it again knowing it's just a standard double displacement reaction. But I use it to fertilize my bbg grill. But I am curious about the timing of these new rules. There has been nothing in the headlines lately and yt on its own doesn't care.
Soon, YT will be sooo restrictive that a video like this will need to rework the script to "fert"....or better yet, "furt" so as to not offend the censorship tyrants. Great information for people who live in places with unnecessarily strict restrictions on "furt".... thankfully,in 🇺🇸 we can still get kno3 "furt" from a bunch of places..............for now 🤷♂️
Psst, they are steadily improving. We all know the goals of the censorship. The methods to achieve them, while not yet perfect, will improve over time. Many people are paid to work on that.
but if u want to know the molar ratio fro. gas to liquid ,the ideal gas law ,that gas occupier 24 times or close ,so u need to know first the gas molarity ,to know what is what
It's funny, last week I found out a common camping fuel (to use its' long name, Hexamethylenetetramine!) here in the UK is now illegal to the point where if you're caught in possession of it, then you could face up to a 2 year stay in a state-owned hotel, because it too can be used by silly people in the making of rapid-combustion materials of the boomy kind, and I still had some hanging about somewhere, so I made it go away with flames... :P
We're just making fertilizer, that's it, completely normal fertilizer. Nothing special. Just fertilizer...
Sad state of affairs
Well, until you combine it with carbon and sulfur that is...
It was worth updating the old one anyway.
Wow. 😢
Lawn care nerds take this stuff very seriously you don't want to be seen putting commercial stuff on your lawn
People need food. Food needs fertilizers. Fertilizers need this video.
And videos need people, it's the circle of life!
Ban food
Even nitroethane synthesis need this fertilizer =)
If you're making custom fertilizer blends for hydroponics, this is awesome.
No wonder the food industry is booming... I mean blooming, BLOOMING!

Random note -- if you wound up here looking for plant food, sodium ions in your soil are not your plant's friends.
IIRC sodium ions are ok for celery
Many plants don't like it, but all cabbage family plants don't care as they originated from a beach plant.

What if I want to grow coconuts in the outback?
I’d love to see a video on NR making ammonium nitrate fertilizer using garden chemicals.
Wouldn't it be possible to use this exact same procedure, just substituting baker's ammonia in stead of the Na/K alkalis/carbonates?
