I am a 3D print maker. I will be using your designs but instead of wood I will be 3d printing your parts. Then assembling the light fixtures the same way Thank you for your design ideas and such great detailed instructions. I use to have a great wood shop but life has changed and now I am in an apartment so I have to change my building style.
I’m a complete beginner to everything wood related and even the basic electrical. I’ve had this video saved for over two years and finally just started the project. My squares aren’t perfect, but I helped tighten them up with a Brad nailer. I’m waiting for the squares to dry from the stain I put on it, have to cut my holes and assemble, but I’m super excited to see how it turns out. Going to finish it all up tomorrow. Your videos are excellent for people like me who suck at this. Just really frustrating how easy you make it look lol. Keep up the great work
I love how your narration is straight to the point , doesn't drag and sometime humorous. Keep doin what your doin....oh and your Channel name is funny and clever as heck lol
I love stuff like this. Small giftable pieces that are unique and interesting. I know some people like furniture and big builds, but I just enjoy smaller more artistic stuff.
Amazing little lamp! One step I would have added just for the aesthetics is an opaque liner on the inside to hide the light bulb when it's turned on. I love that epoxy filled knot hole at the top. Great way to make use of scrap wood lying around as well.
This is amazing, and I think I've just found a gift idea for my mom's birthday. I wonder how it would look with a bit of frosted glass/acrylic to take a bit of the glare way from the bulb. If I do this I may just have to see for myself.
This is awesome I’m trying to get ideas for my woodworking class I landed on this video so I’m drawing my plans up on paper lot of work but it’s worth it this will keep me busy the rest of the year probably
Brad, really nice work, and very simple. You have a LOT of machinery that most of us don´t have (well, I have my own CNC router but I´m not exactly part of large crowds) and your design is quite elegant, I must acknowledge. Lovely, indeed. Congratulations. Thanks for sharing it dude!.
Illuminating video, Brad. I’m sure you always light up at the chance to build with walnuts. I’m sure the lamp will brighten up your office for years to come.
I think I just got a idea for a lamp! YOURS! however not made from wood. This is a great idea for 3D printing. In any case a very nice lamp. and nice job. thanks
i love how you used tape to glue and place the 4 mitered pieces of wood! i'm going to see if i can scale it up (maybe using duck tape or wider masking tape) to glue up 4 rough-sawn pine boards i'm using to make a faux beam!
I'm not a woodworker, I just enjoy your videos, so I really appreciated you mentioning that if something doesn't feel right, find a different approach. I never considered that one's body might have an internal instinct about how to precision cut a piece of wood. Hunting instinct, instinct to protect one's children, yeah, sure. But a precision wood cutting instinct, never would have guessed! But you're right. Your body is giving you feedback about visibility, space, maneuverability, etc. and it 'not feeling right' is saying, "the chance of injury from repeating this function increases exponentially with each repetition." Okay, let's not do that again!
This is awesome! 💜 I don't have all the tools you used, but I'll definitely give this a try. I have wanted to make my own lamp for a while, but didn't have the courage. This seems like less of a headache than I imagined.
Merry Christmas Brad. I just wanted to thank you for this great video. Just made 5 of these for my wife and four kids for Christmas gifts. Used walnut, cherry and some exotics customized for each family member. They loved them- I appreciate you sharing your knowledge! Keep up the great work!
(07:40 - 09:17) He assembles the lamp using dowels and brass spacers, finishes the walnut with oil-based polyurethane, and highlights the color-changing capabilities of the Wiz LED bulb.
Nice build Brad love that Walnut and the effect of the Gold Epoxy in that hole, those light effects as well can make a nice room setting, just sitting there and relaxing. Well done. Barry (ENG)
Another thing you could do is add a diffusion layer inside so you can't see the bulb so easily. You could do this by sanding clear binder pages (the things you slide papers into to put into binders).

Great build mate! Just love how you look at some left over lumber, get creative with it and BOOM, an awesome looking piece for your home.
Hello brother am from Tanzania I really love the way you detail everything you do.

I really like the aesthetics of this lamp and a really great how to video to go along with it! Great work as always, Brad!
Thanks, Ethan!

The walnut and brass pare beautifully. Nice lamp.

cute little project. i don't like colored LED lamps that much, but with variants of white light it looks great!
Cool, crisp, and clear Brad .. as always ..a.great piece.
Thank you, Clyde!
Simple but effective. Well done.
thank you!
Oh wow, I really like that. Reminds me of the stones from the fifth element.
compression fittings, tube ferrules. i'm an instrumentation tech in petrochemicals. i use those almost daily.
This is a nice simple classy build.
thanks!
What a tools for this, we do this in school with simple saw and glue and resul is pretty much same
Those plumbing fittings take it up a level. Nice bit of thinking outside the box!
thanks, Josh!

going deep on the one Kris...don't know watt you'll come up with next
@@Fixthisbuildthat Well played, Brad...
Super cool build Brad! I need to make something like this for my daughter. I have so much exotic woods kicking around!
Would look sweet with some exotics!
The lamp looks amazing. I've also got some walnut left overs in my shop and this looks like a great use for them. Thank you!
Bro. It's simply superb & brilliantly made. All the very best for future projects.
I think I could modify this to make a lamp, I really like this idea.
Very nice work. I would make miters only on the top frame, the rest I'd go with half laps

Bro it's done brilliantly, your creativity is superb. Excellent craftsmanship. All the very best for the future projects.
Insane build
Great job. Greetings from Belarus!
lamp is awesome, great video
Neat project. I could see turning a piece of wood to go around the bulb to hide it. Great job!
that would be interesting!

Exactly! Your body is pretty smart and doesn't want to get hurt 😀
Definitely a fantastic job. Great art piece.
I wish I was this creative
Really love your projects
You could also add a thin filter paper for diffusing some of the light if desired. It looks great tho!
I really like this one and it is really easy.
Hello, thanx for beautiful ideas.
This is awesome! 💜 I don't have all the tools you used, but I'll definitely give this a try. I have wanted to make my own lamp for a while, but didn't have the courage. This seems like less of a headache than I imagined.
Great looking lamp. If you do another one, you may want to look into the Underwriter's Knot when wiring it up.
i did look at that, but the mounting plate didn't have space for the wires, that's why I settle for the knot at the bottom
Nice build, it might look interesting with frosted plexiglass on the inside too!
I actually considered that...still think it would be cool
Your tools are Awesome
I love this build! I’ve been obsessed with smaller home decor type builds lately. This definitely inspired me to try making some lamps!
thanks, Alex!
I love the use of the brass compression fittings. Very smart!
You are awesome I wish I could make stuff like you

Really nice. I'm going to build myself one for my office.
Awesome! Share with me on Instagram when you do!
As vezes acho que esse tipo de DIY é pra tirar um barato da nossa cara.
Só quem tem uma oficina como está vai fazer um trabalho como esse.
Very creative . Nice work
Your projects are still top notch 👌🏻 awesome design.

Looks great keep it up
awesome design
Its very unique Sir!!!
Awesome light.
You should make some project with just the tools an average person has! It would be fun to see just how much you could do 😍
Love your channel btw!
What tools would that be for you? Curious of your definition of "average person". I definitely want to do some minimal tool builds
This should be a movie
Amazing build
thanks!
Very cool!
Очень круто!!! Спасибо за видео и за идею!
Cool
I really want to start doing wood work
like this..simple and good looking.
your videos are great!
Nice to see what you can make with these toys tools.
Your videos just keep getting better! This is a great project.
thank you!
Amazing...good job
Fabelous Brad - great use of extra material
Thanks for sharing and showing that
you're welcome!
looks nice, but wonder what it look like if each layer of wood was offsite from the one above and below it.
Clever use of the brass and dowels.
never worked with epoxy, is it expensive? I like the results I have seen in many videos
Looks great
Bro this is cool I'm going to try and make one!!!!
Great job! Looks great
thanks, Robert!
It would be cool if you made tall ones to put on a deck like floor lamps.
that would be super cool!
great work
Enjoyed the work more than the light thingy.
Hello my name is Waynekelley i like your video

I really love the design of it, reminds me of a Japanese style lantern
Very nice. Now do it with a hand saw.
Really stunning lv ur vids
You're videos are so satisfying to watch! Please Please Please ship me ONE over! I would love to have that in the office
You could use mirror on the top board from inside so it will reflect light.
By the way, thanks for your hardwork. I guess, I can do it.
Nice lamp
