Nice touch that the Tribun acknowledges Jahwe. Romans didn't have any problems with the Jews believing in something else - it was the monotheism they struggled with
Likely budget, but much like modern militaries, I'd imagine that the Romans adapted their armor kits to the environments as well. Lorica Hamata and Segmentata were costly and time-consuming to produce and Musculara was reserved for the officers. Not to mention hot af and exhausting to wear in a desert climate. Even the Persians/Sassanids didn't bother much with metal armors probably for that reason.

Yeah; I agree. I really loved the realism of that scene. For the Romans, this would have just been mostly just another execution to get over with; and in a city the size of Jerusalem with all the unrest going on, it stands to reason that they would have had a well-used crucifixion site set up with typical Roman efficiency, which is something I don't think other movies don't seem to remember as they treat it like a huge thing even for the Romans, who, like you said, would have just been going through another execution.
Movie or otherwise, crucifixions were the worst no matter what. Also, wdym you don't remember who is being crucified? It's Jesus in the middle with a thief on either side.

we jews see differently what a messiah is , think of king Solomon combined with bar-kokhbah, not a hippie claiming he is one. jesus fit the pagan europeans but wasnt the standard for hebrews who had moses and other greats. and indeed you can see god doesnt change contracts the land of israel is for the jews towards the end of times, this year is 5784 out of 6000 years of work(every 1000 years represent a day in the week) and then 1000 years of bliss when the world is "fixed" like the day of sabbath, the seventh holy day when we rest.
I never understood Hollywood hatred of Helmets. Even in the mandolorain series they couldn't resist removing the helmet.
And in the end, he still gave him a soldier death
Alright, someone bring Hadrian to the field, hes got the solution.
So much potential and so much of it wasted. These little details like commander throwing out his helmet in a storm of projectiles, random soldiers throwing off their shields and parts of equipement for no reason, formation breaking on top of the wall for no reason, forming testudo just after they lost like 20% of their men... I mean why? Also these horrible 60s prop shields are just... oh my Gosh. Why? It could've been so much better.
Solid opening, given you assume this will be Barabbas's capture, as a prelude to his release at Jesus' trial. Then you find out that a ruthless Pilate basically sent out soldiers to kill him the same day...like he was ever going to let him get away like that.
Great movie 😘💕👍🏻
Biggins
Lol sure of course a pretty woman like u loves this
If you have been trained day and night for several years to use a shield formation - please use it.
Movieclips is very good youtube channel
The enemy are exclusively using missile attacks.
*Removes helmet*
Finally someone decided to respect history at least a bit. Main weapon Romans used was pilum and they won most of the battles just by throwing them.
No they did not win most of them just by throwing them
@@awesomebrawel4050 yes they did. Less organized opposing armies often were not able to withstand pilums thrown wave after wave at them and ran.
This is how the Pax Romana was maintained ,same way the Pax Americana is maintained, blood ,death, war, nothing’s changed
Lol they think Tiberius is bad wait till Hadrian's legions get there lol
1:14 observation haki !!!
Such good movie
2:52
Man he would be pissed if he knew the messiah would come and his followers would make Rome the capital of his kingdom...
Roman army !
A perfect killing monster !
stop putting leather armband thingies on Romans. They never wore them. There is not a single statue or image showing a Roman wearing one of those leather bands but every friggin movie has them.
Long Live the Empire.
Long Live The Empire
Yes, take your helmet off in the middle of a missile attack. That will teach them.
ah yes, going to batttle without a helmet whilst being pelted with projectiles, makes perfect sense
Roma , Roma , Roma ! Legio ! Aeterna ! Aeterna! Victrix!
GOOOOOOD MOOORNING JUDEAAAA!!!!!
Who said they had no Clash of Clans back in 117 AD?
A rain of deadly Missiles? Someone hold my helmet, it might protect my skull!
Now i love the Roman much much more....
for what
If the Romans were in the times of Muslims they would have fight the muslims too man, Romans have several Gods and were tolerant with other people,s Gods as long as they do the same....but Jews, Cristians and Muslims maintain that there is only a God and that other Gods were false.
70 AD Masada.
The great punishing for killing Jesus.
😂Very good film, great actors, I've seen it several times, I don't get sick of it, I recommend it.
Как называется фильм! Скажи пожалуйста?
@@АлексейЧаплыгин-е4зRisen
Nice touch that the Tribun acknowledges Jahwe. Romans didn't have any problems with the Jews believing in something else - it was the monotheism they struggled with
Why are the Romans wearing leather armor?
Budget
Likely budget, but much like modern militaries, I'd imagine that the Romans adapted their armor kits to the environments as well. Lorica Hamata and Segmentata were costly and time-consuming to produce and Musculara was reserved for the officers. Not to mention hot af and exhausting to wear in a desert climate. Even the Persians/Sassanids didn't bother much with metal armors probably for that reason.
Respect both sides as they fought for thier belief
This still has the worst crucifixion scene of any film i've seen. I don't remember who is being crucified (not Jesus! 🙄), but it's done in such a conveyor-belt/run-of-the-mill/'regular day job' kinda way that it was all the more impactful!
@@goblin-sightingdnd1037 It sure seemed like any other execution that day until there was the darkness, the earthquake, the rocks splitting, dead saints coming to life, and the temple veil rending from top to bottom, among other things.
the look on his face when he saw Jesus alive tho
@@goblin-sightingdnd1037 when it comes to Jesus, there were many political reasons why Romans were involved and concerned with the whole thing (Pilot trying to keep control over things and having a huge group blood thirsty to kill Jesus) it might not have been a big deal but the political parts and the unrest with the people they had control over, there would have been tention at the very least for the Roman soldiers involved mostly but mostly with keeping control and keeping the peace, not so much taking everything personal or have it be religious. It was all political.
"Testudo!" Probably should have started with that...
Then they couldn't have thrown the pika at the enemy
@@willemvanderspek4680 Pila's very short range. Testudo to close, then break formation, throw and charge.
@@theodisius1you can throw pila up to 35m, though they're most effective up till 20m, so not that bad. I guess they could have, but this would make them vulnerable while breaking formation. Might have saved some lives, looks like this battle was pretty hopeless from the opposing side anyways and with a general charge they could have crushed them as well.
It's all fun and games until the Romans get close to you.
Until then...
Its always nice to see some rough stuff
我好喜欢这个频道的节目哦💖🌷😳😳
And they killed the Messiah...
"When the messiah comes Rome will be nothing" He came, and they begged the Romans to execute him 🙄
un très grand film merci
Grubby peasants sure took off when they closed in lol
"When the Messiah comes, Rome will be NOTHING!"
Rome under Constantine after The Messiah came, "Hey, this Christ guy is pretty cool."
Roma victrix !!! !!! ⚔️
Interesting how Hollywood omits the fact Roman soldiers also carried slings and were quite proficient in their use.
People: But, that’s a fairytale.
Jesus: Yup😎
lol find some proof
@@barrett2724 ever heard of The Green Knight? He survived a fire holocaust😁

"When the Messiah comes, Rome will be nothing"
Then Rome was something for 1500 years more.
And also making Christianity as it's own religion 🥲
Hi Good Morning Day Everybody and Good Afternoon.
