In this sweet adventure filled episode, we start preparing for the baby by setting up the nursery! It doesn’t go as planned as everything is a total disaster! See the total transformation of the garage as we take Lawson’s “workout room” and fill it up with baby essentials! We also go to the store to pickup some fruit trees! The books we got were all awful. None of the classics like some of my friends received. 😩
@bethanneg1217 that's unfortunate. A few of ours were hit and miss. I think they try to introduce lesser known authors at times.
Speaking as someone who recently lost our last farm animal after 20 years, just remember, especially as someone who likes to travel, you have to find someone to feed them. You can always travel with Duke and baby, cows and chickens not so much😉

I’m sure they’ll be fine he has 18 siblings and the majority of them live in Tennessee so I’m sure they’ll always have someone
Put a twin bed in the baby’s room so if the baby is fussy or ill, one of you can be in there to comfort him/ her. Also add a comfortable nursing chair for Tiffany. Both things will come in really handy, especially at night. You also might want to get a white noise player especially if that room is close to other active rooms in the house. It will help distract the noise that goes into the baby’s room. 💕💕💕💕

Yes yes yes to the twin bed!!! Hands down my favorite thing we did with our 3. It was a game changer when my 2nd had rsv at 4 months.

Lawson, a lesson learned if you don’t have air conditioning in your garage and you have vinyl records out there, the heat and humidity will warp them.

My daughter and her friends have the greatest tradition for baby showers. Instead of cards with the gifts, they use a favorite signed baby book.
That's a neat idea.
That is what they just did for my cousins daughters shower. It was a neat idea and helps you remember longer.
We've done that with all baby showers and diapers
I do this at baby showers, find a baby book and write something inside with the date,, I love to find baby’s first Bible,
Buy Baby Signs. It teaches the baby simple sigh language. My granddaughter was able to tell us things before she even learned to speak. I highly recommend this book.

I used to read nursery rhymes books to my babies. They knew them all before they even started nursery school. So many parents, now a days, don't even know the nursery rhymes themselves. Then move on to counting and teaching colors books. By two years old, both of my children knew how to count and all their colors, as well as being able to recite nursery rhymes and songs. Also, buy a lot of children's Bible stories books.
There are actually " mini/ small cows" , we have a 40 inch tall 4 year old Dexter cow, we milk her and get a gallon each milking , We milk once a day. Dexter cows are perfect for small farms with small amounts of pasture.😊 I'm not sure how much land y'all have but 1 Acer of land works for 1-2 dexter cows :)
If it's a boy my favorite book is "I'll love you forever". My aunt got it for me when I was having my first son 23 years ago, we've had a daughter and three other sons since then. God bless your growing family ❤
Duke has such a great temperament! He's going to be great with the baby. Shepherds tend to be very watchful and protective of children. A built in Nanny 😄👍🏼
If you don’t want a bed ( not crib) in the nursery, we did a rocker recliner. You can rock the baby or recline to nap if needed.
My Grandson’s favorite book is “The monster at the end of the book”. It is so fun to read!!
I think a baby Bible and Bible stories are my favorite books to give to little ones - even babies! 🧸❤

A great book for your baby is, I love you forever
If you need a way to hang things in your garage, I suggest getting Warden there. He’s helped your siblings with all kinds of building projects and is really good at things like that.
You have to have the wall space to hang things from the wall, and his walls are all taken up
@@r1terihe was asking for ways to hang or store the garden tools and the thought of Warden popped into my mind. He has helped some other siblings with creative ways to help with storage issues. The best thing probably would be to get a storage shed like Trace and Lydia did and he could probably move a lot of things out there and free up some space.

When having chickens or even ducks, my recommendation is to put the hutch a little further from the house, it helps with being able to use the space of your yard.
great idea for fruit trees, you will be surprised over the years with fruit to enjoy and even share.
Interactive books are great for the first year! Flaps to looks under, puppets to hug, textures to feel, etc were my grandkids’ favorites.

I second I Love You Forever. I read that to my kids and it’s the best book.
Worked at a daycare for years and the children LOVED i love you forever, especially since I started adding a little flair to it as the years go on lol different voices and singing the moms part lol❤
Lawson I just hanged my tools on the wall and they are still hanging. Just make sure that you put them in studs so they will hold.

When I was going through my depression watching this family helped me tremendously. I may not be 100% but I know that with God I will get through anything. With God all things are possible. Philippians 4:13 is my favorite scripture I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I may not have everything together 100% of the time I know that I will always have God and for that I'm grateful.

Be careful not to get a weed eater anywhere near the fruit trees. Damage to young tree bark will kill them. You might consider hardwood mulch around the base (but also not against the bark) .

I appreciate you praying and blessing others as well. It’s refreshing to hear on YT. Planting blueberry bushes might be a great addition to your “farm”. AND thanks for the laugh, gateway animal…that’s hysterical and so true. Start simple enough with chickens then next thing you know you’ll be building a small barn for cows and goats and guinea fowl; the list goes on!! Nothing like being self sufficient! Putting together a book with photos of family and their names for the baby is such a good idea. Once they start to talk and can place the face to the name it is exciting. Miniature Highland Cows are adorable! Can’t wait for your gender reveal, my youngest son and daughter in-love are expecting a baby girl in September, this will be my 4th granddaughter and I can’t wait!!!!!
I know how to grow culinary mushrooms, but not trees. I suggest you add a mushroom farm, too. You can get some $$$ for some of the more expensive mushrooms.

Tiffany there is miniature cows, look into highland miniatures, if you want amazing sweet goats go with Nubians, lamanchas, goats in general you need atleast 2 or they get lonely.

It is great to set up a work bench and board to help you build your own bench.
I am so excited for you guys! You will have plenty to do to keep you occupied waiting for your wonderful, little blessing to arrive!. I suggest you do a lot of investigating about your future chicken's needs. The coop seems a bit small from a distance, but it's doable for a while. You will need to totally surround the chickens with chicken wire.....i.e. a complete large enclosed chicken wire box to protect the chickens from predators getting in to them, and to stop the chickens from digging their way out. Yes they definitely will dig until they escape. So, you will need a chicken wire floor attached to 4 chicken wire walls, then attach the chicken wire roof. Naturally, you really have to build the wooden frame first that you will attach the chicken wire to with the chicken coop inside. The size depends on if you want to be able to fit inside that area and how many chickens you want. You will need to heat the coop in the winter and keep their water from freezing, too. Dogs and dogs don't always mix too well. Have you thought of someday having mini horses? They are amazing! Have a blessed week! Prayers, love, and gentle hugs from Donna in Florida....
