Thanks for watching, guys; is this “the one” that’ll replace Bonnie?? Let me know what you think down below, and if a tall dual-purpose bike like this could be a new main/daily!
The last run I took out in the Black Hills before winter slammed us with ice and snow I had pulled up to a red light. There was a rider in the lane next to me on the Scrambler in the two tone green color. I looked at the bike then realized he was looking at my V85 TT. He gave me a thumbs up and I returned it to him. A Triumph and a Moto Guzzi meet at a stop light... Sounds like a bar joke. lol
I just traded my 2017 T120 Black for a 2022 Scrambler XE last night and I couldn’t be happier with the switch! It’s lighter and surprisingly flickable. Even in bone STOCK form it’s phenomenal! ❤ love at first ride for me.
Great to see a review of my favorite bike, and in my home town! I bought my Blue XE in 2020 from Triumph Cleveland and rode it home on a chilly fall day. Two hours on 71 isn't a great first ride for a naked bike, but I knew right away I'd make a great choice! I'm a big fan of "Neo-retro" bikes in general, and I think the Scrambler 1200 line is the best of bunch from any manufacturer. I'm a road rider, but I've taken my Scrambler several times to dirt and gravel roads in Hocking Hills and had a blast. And I think it's really well set up as it comes from the factory, too...I just added a side bag, center stand, and exhaust mods (which really the bike doesn't need, it sounds great off the dealer floor). And props for braving the cold!
Argh, I'm about to throw the battery in my bike and go for a winter ride while the roads don't suck, can't take it anymoooore lol. Thanks for all the bike shenanigans that I can live through vicariously haha. Super excited to try a Triumph out whenever I can hit up a dealership, they seem like really solid (and stylish) bikes.
I like your upbeat review of the Scrambler... I love my Bonny but could be very happy with a Scrambler too. Great seeing you out riding, let's hope for a great year of riding in 2022.
Cool looking bike 🏍️😎👍 great you got the neck gator this time. Geez scary going motorcross rnd the corner 😦 Lots of torque on that bike when you want it. I think that little baby windshield is probably more for look that anything else. Great water views over the bridge. Nice exhaust pipes and sound. Might be time for an upgrade 😉 he he.
I have never ridden a Scrambler, but I definitely do like its look! It looks comfortable on paved roads and I'm sure it probably would love the dirt ones just as well. Guess you'd have to be kind of careful on dirt, by seeing how that rear tire kicked around when you were making that turn. That gets one's attention really quick! Great video and loved hearing your impressions on the bike. Ride and stay safe and warm :) up there in Ohio!
i was torn between a harley or a triumph for my first bike and the scrambler was definitely high on my list. ended up with a harley because the timing and price was right for my situation (and i loved it, of course) - but i'd def love to add one of these or a bonnie to my garage one day! thanks for the insight!
Here in NL they get 1 Scram XE on stock……..NOVEMBER! It’s a sign…..keep my HD Road King Special……lol!!,(btw,…you can’t lost traction because of traction control and so on…)
Nice review. One question - you spent a lot of time at 45 MPH in 3rd gear at 4K RPMs. There's gobs of get out of trouble torks down low, so I wonder why you didn't "cruise" in 4th at the same speed but a lower RPM? Personal preference? Habit?
Hey Scott, thanks for watching. I use engine braking a great deal, and I find a bit higher rpm works better for that. Ultimately, I ride any engine where it feels like there’s a sweet spot! I’m usually listening/feeling more than looking, if that makes sense.
Love the looks of this bike, but I've heard the seat height is pretty tall. I've only really seen reviews from people over 6' which doesn't help me much.. How tall are you?
Try the xc, lower seat height and still awesome on dirt but better on road. Had my suspension revalved and stronger springs up front. Best bike I've ever owned.
Great review, a lot of people get hung up about the heat from the exhaust but I’m in Australia (Very hot in summer) and it’s fine! I love the power and the bike is super capable both on/off-road. Do you reckon you’ll make the upgrade? 😂
If you’re a fan of the Triumph Scrambler, read Forgotten Road by Randall Arthur. The whole last half of the book highlights the Scrambler with numerous on-road adventures. The book is a work of fiction, but supposedly the adventures in the book are all based on Arthur’s real-life experiences. Randall Arthur is the author of the bestselling novel Wisdom Hunter. On a side note, Forgotten Road is a faith-based novel.

Check out my Scrambler XE videos. Super fun capable bike!

It's a badass bike. I've ridden it for a quick ride in the city and I love it.

Nice! It’s an awesome bike. Thanks for watching, Ian!
Great real-time reactions for a first ride! The dread of the fish tail on salt! Thanks for sharing!
Yes, easily a daily riding bike - just dress warmer!
Thanks for watching! The fish tail was definitely more scary than it looked in the video 🤣

Sounds like a keeper!!! 🌟
Love the color of that bike
Wellcome to the happy owner's club of the 1200 Scramblers! This bike is trully amazing! I love it to the last bolt!
Thanks, Attila! It’s a top 5 for me as well!
Nice bike girls.... awesome ! Enjoy your day have fun 👍👍

They definitely are!
Best bike i have ever had. I ride it now for 4 year more than 50.000 km on it now. Get it off road and you have even more fun. Ride save.🏁
Thanks for the review!
Thanks for watching, William!

Thanks for watching, Bill! It’s a tough competitor for sure!

Hey Steph, thanks for watching and weighing in!
I can’t recommend the Bonnie enough for “cruiser” duty, whether around town or crushing state lines!
Finally that guy Quin gets a name drop. Beautiful bike btw
Idk he seems to change his name often 🤷♀️ Danny Quinine Quin Quin
Even though I'm a Harley guy, I really like the Triumph. Have a great week Gene.
Might as well get both, right?? :)
Thanks for watching, and have a good one!
new sub! nice bike i just bought a 2022 baja scrambler 1200 XE
Sounds like a blast!!
"If there's a bike that would make me trade in old Bonne, it would be this one." Nooooooooo! Bite your tongue! 😄
Haha!
That nice bike, I think be nice bike to have if you had to worry about a lot of rural country gravel roads and going bit off the pavement for camping.
It would be fantastic for that!!

@@OneDownGeneUp It does, thanks. I guess it's down to a different sweet spot for each person/bike combo.
GINA. No parking in front of the air pump!

Who can say?? I guess time will tell! 😆
I want this bike so bad
Geeze I'm almost convinced to trade in my Speed Twin! Lol
Thanks for watching, Lance! I don’t know…Speed Twins are super fun too!
you don't trade in Speed Twins, you just buy more bikes!
Front forks are Showa, not Ohlins (unfortunately!) Rears are Ohlins.

Thanks for the recommendation, Randy! I’m gonna need more reading material on some of the long trips I have planned this year.
Ugh I want one so bad
You and me both! 😭
Decision making.....howzabout insurance....bigger complaints I've heard .....litre bikes = big jump in premiums ....any concern ........
OMG!
What happened? Died, no start, whew! lol
great review, was able to ride a Ducati scrambler last summer. Live in Va from Mn. so know about that cold riding, stay safe and warm..
Thanks for watching! I’d love to check out a Ducati Scrambler some day!
GINA. Slow down a little bit!
Mmm no thanks
I have had my 1200 XE Scrambler for about 9 months - Love It! th-cam.com/video/6CzqPgyoyi4/w-d-xo.html
