Ahh Albania, i had a friend who was albanian, they are more patriotic than us Poles i would say lol. He was orthodox catholic so the minority but he was still very proud of being albanian, and like all Albanias ive met claiming they came from the illyrians lol. Love my albanian brothers great food, music and culture and they had one of my favorite eurovison song this year Sekret(Ronela Hajati)
In Albania we do not consider religions to be minority or majority. All four main religions in the country have equal representation and importance in the society. Religious percentages are a relic of the past empires and not really something Albanians identify themselves with in cultural and behavioral terms. Like it is for example in Poland and many other countries in Europe.
@@arrore Yes I understand that I was just saying in percentages wise, cause in Albania it is like 56% of Albanians identify as Muslim, I was just using percentages as Orthodox Christians are smaller in numbers, plus in Poland there aren't really any religious minorities as most are either catholic, protestant or orthodox, besides the Tatars who are Muslim and some atheist, yes in Polish culture religion is tied heavily into it but I feel that influence is slowly waning because of the younger generation
As a young kid my first exposure to Albania was the movie "Mrs Polifax Spy" with Rosalind Russell. I remember viewing Albania as a remarkable, mysterious place having very high significance and importance in ancient affairs (some powerful child intuition kicking in at that time). I could not believe how insignificant it had seemed to become in the modern world I was living in at that time. Great actress Rosalind Russell who as an older woman was able to connect really well with the mindset of a youngster. This young kids movie left a prolonged effect on my outlook of that part of the world. Thanks for stirring up those old memories in your very relaxing way.
Another great and relaxing video as always😊. I haven't visited Albania yet, however I deeply admire it and I find it extremely fascinating. My country - Italy - amd Albania have had a great connection throughout history. After the fall of the dictatorship in Albania during the 90s many Albanians came to Italy to live a better life. During the pandemic when Italy was at its worst, Albania held out a hand to help js by sending us doctors to help fight COVID. 🇦🇱❤️🇮🇹
Till end of the eighties it was the most closed & communist country in Europe and now the newest hype as holiday destination. Nice to see how a country can change in positive with all the horrible things that are happening right now in the world. It give hope❤️🙏
