0:54 Sunlight: Seeds don't seem to need sunlight to start germination, they are underground using cotyledon and don't make use of photosynthesis until later.
0:54 Oxygen: I'm not so sure about oxygen either, again in early stages. People do soak grass seed in buckets for multiple days, with only pulling them out temporarily to change the water, thus no oxygen. Success is usually seen with a very small root poking out of the seed from this process. Then the seeds are distributed to the soil.
