You must realize how many “fans” you have by simply reading all the comments. You are a lovely person and the tour of your home matches your personality. Pure warmth and coziness in every room…including the “perfectly imperfect” areas awaiting your special touches. Thank you so much for inviting us into your home❤
Homes should be a place for our loved ones to feel, peace, comfort and love. I love textiles on display and for use. Thanks for sharing and your honesty and for realizing not all of us want to live in a sterile environment.
I don't know if this will encourage you or scare you but I am 71 years old and am still working/remodelling our home, the living room(original) was over 100 years old, I have been residing in it for the past 23 years, my husband was born in this house, he is 80. Like you I homeschooled my children and worked out of my home during those years teaching decorative painting classes, baking wedding cakes, sewing costumes, bridemaid dresses, alterations and quilts. Love all creatie processes and still at this age have multiple prokjects going at one time. Your channel is fantastic, your energy is infectious and you are truly an inspiration. Thank you!
I have thrifted before I got married in 1968. Dumpster diving, back in the 60’s they had a curbside once a year you could put anything on the curb and they pick it up for free. It was wonderful going around picking this off the piles of someone’s junk piles. Going to garage sales, auctions, now I do a lot estate sales, Salvation Army, Good Will, and thrift stores, antique malls. My friend Hazel tells her friends my house looks like Cracker Barrel. My sewing room is almost like yours small and the layout is about the same seeing yours has giving me a plan. I just moved in boxes and totes in every room. Thank you for posting your home it’s beautiful.😮
You are my favorite kind of person!! Know that you are inspiring soooo many people! I’m pulling out the colors! So over the blah neutrals! THANKYOU!! And I love your home! Great classic choice!
Older homes have a warmth and character that new houses just don’t have, and I love them for it. Give me a multi- coloured carpet, wonky walled, creeky floored cozy old house any day! Thanks for the tour!
I love the way you think, and live. You respect, and honor your family by showcasing, and using what they have gifted you. Can you be my best friends lol
I love your home!!! It’s so unique. I call our home decor - modern poverty!!! We bought a house built in 1864 - it will never be finished and I don’t care - I love my home!!! Love the tour, thank you!!!
I love your home, Nikki. Thank you for the tour. A home should be comfortable and well loved. You shouldn't be afraid to touch things in your home. ❤❤😊
This was the loveliest home tour! All those quilts, handmade items & memory treasures just give it such a cozy vibe! My favourite part: the note on the sewing room door ❤❤.
I loved your house tour. Love all the furniture and quirky things you have collected. My house was built 1912. I have about 80% furniture bought 2nd. hand. I like to see painted furniture. Your home looks so cosy and suits your personality. I could happily live there. Yesterday I started sewing my first house blocks using some of your tips, so thanks for that. Greetings from the east coast of England ❤🤍💙
Your home clearly reflects your personality! You are crafty, creative, colorful, and generous for sharing it all with us. Thank you. I have a first grand baby coming in July, so I bought one of your doll patterns. I can’t wait to make it.
I have memories in my house. I have driftwood from a vacation with my sisters, my fist applique quilt, handmade baskets from Hawaii, a carved bird from a friend's father who I adored, my husband's chicken collection and so on. My house is filled with memories and I love it.
Lol now I want to colour coordinate my books too. I get teased at my Quilter's club because my pins in my pin cushion are grouped by colour. I think it's weird they don't care that their pin cushions look terrible 😂
You are the spark I needed. There wasn't a room you took us to that I didn't love. Variety and color. I had lost my "umf" somewhere over the last few years. Even in my sewing. It's like you gave me permission to just embrace my eclectic ways. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I recently watched the oversized mat video and commented that I am making them as canning mats for my friends who can. I have 3 of them now for myself. Christmas in July, quilty sewing things in every (nearly) room. Yes, you are the spark I needed. Liked, subscribed, and rang the bell. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Your home is rich with the history of a loving family and it’s charming and fun all at the same time and cozy too! As far as HGTV is concerned, their gray, white and black houses are boring and run-of-the-mill. I like the variety and personality that yours displays so much better!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. I love handmade homes because it’s from the heart. I love all the special touches you have throughout your house. And obviously all of the memories that are there are amazing. Thanks for reminding us that we don’t have to have picture perfect homes to be content.❤
I adore your home. Give me a ranch with lots of character and I’m a happy girl. So many beautiful quilts, art work, unique finds and homey touches. I fell in love with the black & white triangle table cover (quilt?). Could you do a tutorial? I’m not really a quilter, but I want to start down that road. You are an inspiration and a delight. I, too, want to be your friend! ❤ PS- Your home should be featured in a movie. About a family, of course!
Nikki, thank you for sharing your beautiful home! I just found you on TH-cam about a week ago and can’t get enough of your awesome tutorials!! You’ve inspired me to make so many fun things. I’m a retired teacher of 35 years and believe it or not I’m not even 60 yet😋I bought your ebook on how to start teaching sewing classes in your home. I’m working on making that happen. Thanks again for all you do! Tracy
I concur! I feel a home needs to be “loved and lived in” raising 3 kids, our home was super eclectic and practical. We live in the desert, so it’s kinda Spanish, mid century modern etc.. 😂. The best take away is when guests left our home and said, “your house is so welcoming” 🏠. I can live with that 😊. Love your house, just like mine, it’s a work in progress.
Y’all are just precious! Love the home you’ve created. I watch all the time just to relax and hear your stories. I sew, too, and enjoy the inspiration. Looking into those prosperity hens next. The tassels on the curtains are too fun, and the records!! I hope you do get to stay there for many, many years to appreciate all the work you have, and have yet, to put into the house. Your kitchen/living room space is fantastic!! 😍
I love your home! It's cozy and lived in, and that is what is important. I love all your homey homemade touches. I love that you have handmade things from your family, too. I wouldn't change a thing! It's perfect 🥰
Hey, Nikki I love love love ❤️ your home. Thank you for letting all of us see it. What I just love about your videos and family life is you are so normal. So much like most people. Hey you shabby chic goodwill home would be fine for me to live in. Your house is so HOMEY. Girl I got all kinds of ideas from you for my new home. Please make a pattern for prosperity chickens. I’m going to make a string of pumpkins to hang in my den just like yours. My Christmas tree is covered with all the McDonald’s kids meals toys from the 80’s when she was born. Every Christmas I love unwrapping them and proudly putting them on my tree. Your quilts are beautiful. And I don’t want my home to be cookie cutter style. I want it to be all ME. Thanks girl you are a genius. And y’all are right A Home is a Home when all the People you love live in it.
Your house is adorable! I love how you display your handmade items in every room. I had to chuckle when you mentioned the different carpets in each room. When we bought our house long ago we had the same issue! BUT, each of our rooms had different color shag carpet in it. Red, avocado green, harvest gold! But the basement took the cake! Multi colored shag carpet. My kids called it pizza carpet! We didn’t “finish” our house until the kids were grown and gone. But are you ever really done?!?!
Thanks for the walk down memory lane! Having lived the "wandering military life" (he was Navy...I was Air Force) I am completely sympathetic to the collections that are gathered from everywhere you are stationed. I still have things from Iceland that I brought back from Keflavik in the '70's. Your home is gorgeous...from that to-die-for blue sofa and the arched doorways, right down to the handmade and loved items that make it a home! No one's home is perfect, except to the people who live in it. I am also a mid-century fan....having been born in that era. 🤭Thanks for allowing us into your home.
You have a BEAUTIFUL home! Thank you for sharing it with us. Like you, I also have a lot of things in our home that you cannot find on isle seven at Wal-Mart. We have many antiques (furniture, lamps, etc.) that belonged to my husband's grandparents and even his great-grandparents. I have China that is well over 100 years old, and I love it all. It wouldn't mean much to most people, and that's okay....but it means the world to me. ❤
I luv your home tour and Thrift Store chic vibe!! I have stressed over not having a home that looks like a Sunset Magazine cover and stressed even more over what other people think. Your video was so refreshing that a home should be filled with what you love and gifts and talents. Your home is so beautiful and unique! Thanks for sharing!
I would love to spend all day wandering through your home. There is so much to see! We have furnished our home from thrift stores, Facebook Marketplace, and garage sales. In my younger, able bodied years, I could do so much more to reclaim items and I really miss doing that. Your home is beautiful and welcoming.
What a lovely home. Home is where you live. My mom said that. I thought for a long time that home was where ever my mom was. I miss her so much. Thank you for sharing.
Your home is inviting and welcoming! I appreciate your proposal that we need more variety in homes. Our homes should reflect our personalities and the culture of our family. My husband is a retired Marine and we've moved more than a few times too. My taste isn't quite as quirky as yours, but we live with thrift store chic too. Thanks for opening up your home and inviting us in. You make a great neighbor.
Thank you for showing your lovely home. It's beautiful, ecclectic and cosy. We also live in an older home (1952) purchased a few years ago from original owner who thought the house was remodeled as she had the kitchen redone in the 80s. :) Needless to say the to-do list is long, but we get to put our own personalities into it. And slowly I'm adding our home made items. Thanks for the inspiration!
I'll take your home any day over all the sterile and cold looking homes i see on U-tube. Your home looks and feels like a home where love and family reside. Thank you so much for sharing with us. ❤
Love, love, love, your home. It is so inviting and has such personality. I want ot grap a book, a guilt and a living animal, cup of coffee, warm cider or tea and read. Also makes me want to sew again. I agree we need homes not magazine covers of likeness. Peace!
I love your channel. I watch it all the time. I love it. You give me a lot of peace. I'm learning English. but I have used the translator. to assure me hahaha love love
You have a lovely home full of wonderful things. We have been remodeling a 1965 stone ranch. It is our eight house we've had in our 49 year marriage. Too old to be doing this again but here we are!
My generation had early garage or attic chic, furniture passed down from one generation to another as the older group could afford new furniture or their styles evolved. Beautiful home.
I enjoyed your home tour. You are right not everybody lives in an HGTV home. I also have an eclectic collection of finds. I love the term “Goodwill Chic”.
Thank you for the tour of the house (and the people) you LOVE ❤️. I have 2 nice pieces of furniture, but the rest is loved (my grandma’s treadle sewing machine, the vanity table my sister and I used when growing up, etc). Nothing matches but it’s mine ❤
Oh my goodness I just love your house! Our home is also pieced together from hand me downs and thrifted items - and although we're not military for my husbands line of work we've moved (on average) every 6 months for the last 5 years. We often rush to get where we land feeling like home for our kids so I completely understand that feeling! Thank you so much for sharing your real home 😊
I’ve been watching your videos for about a month now and I have to say that I just love you and your videos! Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us. You kind of blew my mind with the whole pillow cases not having to match the rest of your stuff!😮😆😆😆. What a great idea to have fun, playful pillow cases!!! I think I might have to start making some Christmas gifts!🎄
Oh my word! I LOVE seeing your home. And I saw strawberry book ends. That may be the only strawberry item I don’t have. I agree… the internet needs to see more real homes… not perfect homes! Yours is perfect. So much talent in your family…thank you for sharing. ❤ your videographer/editor did an awesome job. I love making pillowcases too.
Your house reminds me of our 1957 rancher with fabulous windows that to up to the peak of the roof. The house is completely uninspiring from the front, but the back feels like a Spanish courtyard without the wrought iron. We've been here for 31 years and still just love the place.
I love your home, it reminds me of the eclectic home I grew up in. I long for old things that reminds me of my childhood and now I wish I’d taken my parents Mary Poppin album.😂
Thank you for inviting us in. That was very kind of you. I love your style. I love antiques and I love refurbishing when I can. Great decorating. Keep up the good work.! ps. I never liked math.😉
Thank you for inviting me to your lovely home. It is my style, but much cuter and neater. I wish I had a house warming gift for you, but all my coasters are shaped like pumpkins 😂. And I'm starting my MasonJarCozy for the teachers Hot Chocolate.
OMG! I would love to live in your house it’s just so warm and relaxing. Love that it’s one story no upstairs! My mom made quilts and our dresses. Now I’m in love with sewing and I pretty much stink at it but I still love it. 🧵🪡
I absolutely love the coziness and creativity displayed in your home, and the fact that you don’t have to have brand new…to love it! You turn out fantastic quilts and projects in such a small sewing area, which I find inspiring. Thank you and have a wonderful 2024!
Only 2400 sqft....lol.....my house is a teeny, tiny 699 sq ft......I think Hobbits have larger homes than my house lol. Your house is beautiful and so cosy looking with all your beautiful quilts and handmade items. I completely agree with you, our homes are a constantly evolving thing. Fantastic tour. Thank you so much for sharing. Lee :)
The joys of living in Ireland.....in general we don't have large houses.....but my house is particularly small, even by normal standards here. And we all know how much room our sewing and hobbies take up......I have to be very creative with space, lol. @@PinCutSew
Ohhhhhh I LOVE your home! Everything you’ve done is absolutely perfect and the vibe is wonderful! Thx for sharing your very special place in the world with us!
Your home is beautiful. I love that you are so down to earth. I enjoy your homemade and hand me down furniture. I too enjoy second hand things. Your daughter is funny( I guess she was the one making the video) too cute!! I love your wonky house designs too.❤
I just found your channel today. I bought your book on how to teach sewing classes which is something I've been asked to do many times but didn't know where to start. I am a retired nurse and now I sew for an interior designer which I love and hate at the same time. Seems like every time I think of some project I want to make, she brings me a ton of work so my projects get put on the back burner. As far as your house goes, it's beautiful and so cozy because you've made it you. I actually don't like to be trendy. First of all, I can't afford to be but also I don't want my house to look like everyone else home. I have a lot of hodge podge furniture as well and I love it. I buy most off marketplace and estate sales. The older furniture is the most well made. I've had people ask me to decorate their home but I can't. Mine is always a work in progress and will never be finished because I get bored and like change. Anyway, I have fallen in love with your channel. Thank you so much for sharing all that you have learned and do. Merry Christmas and many wishes for a blessed new year.
We need before and after pics!! I looooooove MCM and into the mid 70's!! We have a yellow velvet couch and a purple velvet couch. Our area rugs in the living room are super colorful (pink, orange, navy, yellow, teal and grey). The barstools are yellow velvet. My oven is harvest gold circa 74 and it bakes like a dream. We have a 50's TV console (TV inside is newer) that we had an Atari hooked up to). We also love records! Not a sad beige toy house here.
Hello Nikki. Thank you for the tour of your beautiful home. I love the way you've decorated it. It's so inviting, cozy and warm. There are lots of personal touches throughout which makes your home unique to your family. I can picture fun family gatherings here. I really like the record shelves, a few of those albums I still have myself too. I need to take some tips from you and work on my own home - a four level split that was built in 1972. Cheers from Canada.
Thanks Nikki for sharing your lovely home. I didn't realize military families bought houses each time they moved. I hope you get to stay there a long time. I love your newest dolly (mermaid) My niece loves your ballerina doll I made.
'I absolutely Love your home. Easy to feel comfortable in that place of yours. Well done to you and your family. I also love your quilts etc and your channel. Thank you Warmest wishes from New Zealand.😊
Growing up as an Army brat, I can relate so much to your experience of bringing the memories from all over the world with you and to needing to slow down. Your home is creative and lovely. Thanks for sharing your heart and talent with us. 💕
Thank you for letting us in your home. I have lived in the same house for 26 years. My husband helped to buil the house and all of the finishing is done by us. As well as the landscaping. He has also built most of the furnature. He calls the kitchen his moselium. I love making things too and shopping in good Will or used. Be proud of what you have and have done. It is all about the process. At my age of 63 i am still buying things and planning projects for the house. Great video.
That contentment with your own style thing - you're right, it takes awhile. When we have guests coming I always want to redecorate. My husband reminded me once that it wasn't a perfect house, it was our house. That gave me pause. Now I just like what I like. Such good advice you have there. And I visited dear friends once who lived in campus housing for the prof's (he was a prof) and the furniture was worn and nothing was new - and I think it's the most favorite house I ever visited. It was comfortable and welcoming. Nothing compares to that. That's how your house looks - comfortable and welcoming. Lived in. Beautiful. I bet it smells amazing too 😉
Nikki, thank you for letting us into your beautiful home. I love all of it. You have things that bring your heart joy and you can tell by the way you talk about each item. And Thank you to you, your husband and family for your service!! I am an Army brat, married Army, and have AirForce DIL.
@pincutsew I would love to have more artwork in the various rooms, especially our bathrooms, but we were short on storage space for towels and so we put 3 shelf, double door cabinets above the toilets and so above the one in the master bath we created, I put the handmade fabric wrapped wreaths with silk flowers that I had made for our oldest son’s wedding to our lovely daughter in love. In the main bath I use the space above the cabinets for storage but definitely plan to add more art after watching just a part of this. Thank You for doing this video. Can’t wait to watch more!
I love your wonderful house! So cozy and welcoming! I think it has so much character and style! You’re speaking my creative language. Thank you for sharing 💕⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
You have a home not a show home .... Delayed gratification is something that this generation knows nothing about... Even if that home takes your whole life to get it where you want it... Your creativity and the talent that your whole family has is amazing... I love your eclectic and homie atmosphere... Much like my own... I have always thrifted my furniture.... And the whole coup is to get it cheap... My white iron bedstead I sleep in, I paid $25 for.... The oak antique dresser I have, I traded a woman the cost of her perm ($35) when I came to her house to do her hair. Every piece in my house has a story... And your house is the same. I love your house!!!!❤❤❤
As a handywoman/quilter, make sure the wall hanging for your bedroom is easy to tack up out of the way in a hurry! Maybe put magnets in the corners so you can flip it up and it just snaps to itself. You always want super easy access to your breaker box for emergencies, especially since y'all are working on the house.
Thank you for sharing your lovely home! I am a thrift store person, too--and am always pleased when I find a treasure to bring home. After watching most of your videos, I feel like we are already friends--thanks for being so real--and funny. You are a bright spot in my days.
I am in absolute love with your home! It is so cosy and inviting and feels personal, happy and loved. I will take that, over “curated photostudio places” that just make me feel stressed out, aaaany day - mismatched carpets and all. Also: I love your chattiness and spontaneous comments, it’s like hanging out with a friend.
❤I LOVE YOUR HOME! It is soooo Welcoming, like C’mon in grab a quilt sit down & get cozy comfy☕️🎶 Thankyou so much for sharing your home with all of us! I’m from Manitoba Canada & our winters beg for quilts😃
My husband said once that he likes how our house always has blankets ready haha. (We were staying with someone and we were cold and there were no blankets!)

Cozy and comfy--you’ve created a home instead of a decorated house.
I love seeing a home that is loved and has a family in it that loves one another. .
The first 3 minutes in I love your home I am 73 years young 😊😂 I love your channel and I love your Spirit thank you Niki for sharing 👍🏻👍🏻🤗❤️

I love that you’re real enough to show everyone your piles of “junk” on the counters.
I agree! I am not a slave to fads. Most of my decor is 35+years old! I never get tired of it!
I love your channel!💖
As an artist, thanks for buying local and supporting local, small artists. ❤
Such a lovely and cosy home. I love the quilt that was on the sofa with half squares. So beautifully coloured. Thank you for sharing!
I love your home, Nikki. Thank you for the tour. A home should be comfortable and well loved. You shouldn't be afraid to touch things in your home. ❤❤😊

I made a blue bunny. I’m not sure how to upload a picture of it.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE your kitchen. I'm more of a blue girl than green but your kitchen is dreamy to me. Mid-century is my favorite style.
I have memories in my house. I have driftwood from a vacation with my sisters, my fist applique quilt, handmade baskets from Hawaii, a carved bird from a friend's father who I adored, my husband's chicken collection and so on. My house is filled with memories and I love it.

What are you talking about?!? I LOVE your home-I could wander around forever finding cool stuff!! How fun!
Love, love , love your beautiful home. So warm and inviting. And love all of your quilts and other projects placed around your home. 💖

Love looking at your home because it’s you and your family, just natural and loving and most importantly of all real
I absolutely love your home! Thank you for sharing and thank your hubby for his service.

That table cover is actually an IKEA pillow cover that I thrifted lol, but you could make one with half square triangles!

I absolutely love your approach to decorating. I’m a “more is more” person. Hand me down and handmade make me happy. Beautiful home!

I love your home!! It is real and has meaning. The artwork is amazing!!
I lived in Malaysia and Saudi Arabia so my house has lots of unique stuff as well.
That’s amazing!
I love your home! It's cozy and lived in, and that is what is important. I love all your homey homemade touches. I love that you have handmade things from your family, too. I wouldn't change a thing! It's perfect 🥰
I was not quilting in the 2000s. Just recently, in the past 3 years that I've been quilting.

No, you’re really never done! One of our houses had some crazy carpet in one room, I totally forgot about it until said that 🤣
If you use the tiny scraps to stuff the chickens by the door your stash would be much less!! YES CHICKEN VIDEO!
Such a fun and inspirational home tour. Loved it and your message.
Love it!! Your correct, the internet needs more wonderful love filled real homes!! We are not HGTV we are real humans and we live in our homes!!
As a military mom, I truly appreciate your candor and home tour! I love your videos! Thank you for your service.
Solidarity, lol. It's been a lot, but it has also been really fun to be able to pick everything out ourselves :)
Thankyou for inviting us in to your warm and cosy home, which looks well loved , and special to your family.
Peace!
LOVED the tour and your creative enthusiasm / energy … I would totally hang your COLORWHEEL quilt in your bedroom over the electrical panel box 🫶🏻👍🏻
Thank you for sharing. You are right about a home not being perfect but ever changing. Good to hear someone else say it.
Love those windows, estate sales, homemade quilts and amen to all the sentiments! Thanks for sharing
I didn’t want this to end! Thank you for sharing your house with us! Also, major props to your camera gal for her superb filming. Blessings!
Thank you guys for showing, this was filmed so nice! Really enjoyed it ❤
I love your channel. I watch it all the time. I love it. You give me a lot of peace. I'm learning English. but I have used the translator. to assure me hahaha love love
I love the house (eclectic and fun) oh and I’m loving the Wes Anderson film vibes!
Funnily enough, I got those bookends at Target 🤣 and I regret not getting the banana ones too!
Your house reminds me of our 1957 rancher with fabulous windows that to up to the peak of the roof. The house is completely uninspiring from the front, but the back feels like a Spanish courtyard without the wrought iron. We've been here for 31 years and still just love the place.
That’s exactly how ours is! The front is super boring but the back is spectacular!
Thank you so much!
Lee :)
Haha! I know size is relative, i knew some would think that’s huge and others would think it’s tiny 😅
I love your wonky house designs too.❤
A lovely warm and inviting home, with lots of love and eclectic charm.
If you go to my personal IG, there's a highlight with all the befores! instagram.com/nikkischreiner/
@@PinCutSew love it all 😭
Thank you for sharing your home with strangers. I was smiling the entire time.
Most don’t, we just like home ownership and house projects so we try to buy things we can improve and come out on top with.
You are a Peachy Peach and your home is perfect in my eyes. I don't like mass produced items unless they are vintage. I love thrifting.
'I absolutely Love your home. Easy to feel comfortable in that place of yours.
Well done to you and your family.
I also love your quilts etc and your channel.
Thank you
Warmest wishes from New Zealand.😊
Thanks to you and your family also!
This is such an encouraging comment, thank you!
I can relate my hubby n I both were Army do when I got out I still followed him as he did 20yrs
That's good advice! I would just hang it with a dowel so it would be quick to remove and toss aside!
You are so sweet. I love watching your videos. You are such a REGULAR person. I LOVE that. Thank you for valuing uniqueness!
aw thank you 🤗
Thank you for sharing your lovely home!
