Dude, I'm 24 seconds into it and chuckling. Irony is that my wife and I were just talking about bathroom options on the boat and here is a video. You're swell Wayne. I really appreciate your work.

I have a 5 gallon pail under my front deck that holds an anchor, rope, rain poncho and other small items. A small snap on toilet seat fits on top with toilet bags. We would use the rain poncho over top if needed. Thankfully, we have never used it.

The poncho is a great solution for kayakers, thank you!

    No mention of Brown Trout🤭😆
Another great & helpful video Wayne.
I use plastic pitchers from the dollar store that will double as a bailer if needed. Also keep a 5 gallon bucket with a toilet seat lid that snaps in place for the larger boats.
    Thank you for sharing.

Hi Wayne, this is the most hilarious video you did so far. Thank you for talking about this the humoristic way.
Concerning ourselves, we have a small 5 meter cabin boat. No toilet on board, so we are using the good old plastic bucket method. It "saved our lives" more than once. Not the best memories we have about boating though!
I did not know about this product which turns liquid to gel. That seems interesting in some cases.

On My 14' Alum. V haul I have two different systems. For a #1 the wide mouth ice tea bottle works just fine, when done just screw the cap back on. For a #2 a plastic grocery bag contains it pretty well. I hardly ever need the bag system because I'm pretty regular ( first thing in the morning) Then the trash will be disposed of property, If the boat ramp has facilities I'll go there before I take off for the day.

Thanks. What did the proctologist say when he reached into his shirt pocket and pulled out a thermometer? ..... Dang it, some a-hole has my pen! And I always liked the septic tank company's slogan from the sitcom Corner Gas, " We're Number 1 in Number 2!"

I’ll stick with the coffee can ! My wife can use it too. She does it very stealthy? The best bet is to make sure you take care of it before heading out, we are usually fishing for 3 or 4 hours and where we fish has at least a porta John at launch so it’s a quick run if we need to see a man about a horse😊

If it's summer & I'm swimming, I do pee in the water. If it's cooler we just use a bucket & dump & rinse. We do have the portable tent for guests. I never thought about the pee being a problem in the water. Would never #2 in the water. We have bags for the bucket if that were to happen but that would be for emergencies.

There are some small ponds and maybe some lakes that I have heard about that have problems with their water quality because there's too much - but I think that's probably in areas where the water doesn't regularly flow.

We use the bucket with a seat. The sailboat has a portapotty. Neither get much use because the lakes we go to have toilets near the docks. Always a better option.

Great video, Wayne. I love the new green screen tech. Not that I minded the background of your bedroom, office, or guitar room. Your face does get a bit too close sometimes, though.

5 gallon bucket 1/2 full of sawdust. And a large (very large) spoon. Just give it a stir. Good for 4 or 5 uses before dumping the sawdust.

Reminds me of what Steve Martin used to say. "Always carry a litter bag in your car."
"It doesn't take up much room and if it gets full you can just toss it out the window."

As a Metric Friend: thank you! (but, to be honest, most of us just convert to 'Murican and don't really care about it - what I do see is a lot of Imperial Friends ranting about people using metric in videos 😅).

I've got a 5 gallon bucket and I went to Walmart and bought a cheap toilet 🚽 seat put the bucket on the underside of the seat and traced a line on the bottom of the seat, then I cut some small pieces of plywood attached them to the bottom of the seat so the seat won't slip. To you landlovers that have never worked on a small commercial boat ,( never poop 💩 in a dry bucket ) easy peasy japaneasy

Owned two boats with portotoilets. One was a Catalina 22 and the other was a 19ft Maxum Cuddy. In the decades of owning these boats, the toilet was only used once and while carrying on the dock to empty it, it ended up in disaster...all over the dock as the bottom part seperated. Toilet was never again used after that. One big word of advice is to always have everyone empty their bladders, before they board. Secondly have people avoid that greasy bacon double cheese burger. I have never seen an achorage that crowded before on my lake. We tend to be 15-20mins from a toilet, worst case they can always hang off the swim platform. Doesn't happen often, though as a diver most people pee in their wetsuits to keep warm. Fish also discharge waste in the water. I prefer people use the bathroom on land and we are proactive about emptying the bladder, though if it is an emergency, then the lake it goes. My new 23' has no head, so no other option.
Edit: Love the idea of a poncho, was looking for a "changing room".

A 5 gallon bucket is all you need. If you want to get real fancy they make snap on seats for them. I worked on a couple boats that had turd burners. You only use one of those things once! Seriously there is a special place in hell for the person that designed the turd burner! If your not familiar with these things think of a toilet that has an electric heating element in the bottom. It literally burns the crap. It takes hours and smells so absolutely foul that you might puke.
