Most non-beat reliant rappers are really articulate. That's not to say they all know some 20 letter word, but they can get their point across really well.
Too much though. Dude is hard to listen to. Over explaining everything, interrupting the interviewer and not letting him get questions in... and if you have listened to his other interviews he has been doing lately he does this ALL the time. He needs to chill a bit. SOmething tells me he's popping some kind of pills or something before these interviews. He has that tweaker vibe a bit.
This was an awesome interview. RESPECT! Still remember being a college kid, watching BET, and seeing Jin on 106 & Park. Oh snap, who's this Chinese kid with the battle rhymes???
literally just said to myself i need some Fun with Dumb. thanks for being so accommodating. hahaha. finally finished this episode. MC Jin has so much energy. love hearing about this whole other world that i have no clue about. i fell like you could just throw out random words to MC JIN and he can just go off on anything. love it
Man! Still remember going online to see if he won every week on FreestyleFridays(was too poor for cable). He made a lot of little Asian dudes so proud. I think we all grew an extra inch after he won. I waited and waited for his album to drop too. I still have the CD at my house somewhere. Great interview. Really enjoyed that he went all the way back too. Keep up the good work.
I’m still listening to Learn Chinese and the 14:59 album in 2019. Jin is remarkable; intellectually, artistically, and more than ever inspiring! I remember going to the club event when he came on tour to my city with RR...way back in the days! It was lit tho! This old age, I feel it! 😂
As an Asian-American we always have to fight for respect in anything we do in America. Music and acting is the hardest for Asian-American to get respect. Ironic how nowadays Americans like K-pop and is willing to listen to a song that they don't understand but won't listen to an Asian-American musician who is rapping or singing in the English language.
As a BBC i got totally hooked on Jin a few years ago, so late to the party, but hes a totally inspiration and legend. And now hes Yanging everyone! Lets go Yanggang!
@@aarondjoo The goal isn't to advertise for Andrew Yang's presidential campaign but instead to allow him to tell some of his stories (related to politics or not) that he may not have time to tell on the air or on other podcasts. I'm not looking for this to be "productive" nor "effective" and honestly I don't care that DFD's audience isn't as large as JRE's. Both podcasts serve different people and purposes. This could be a chance for Andrew Yang to simply talk about how music has affected his life and it would still be entertaining.
@@alexkhang6558 Totally understand where you're coming from, but again, I really think it's about how big of an audience that specific platform has. I would enjoy listening to his stories that are non-related to his presidential campaign and that is why he went on radio shows like, The Breakfast Club and Hot 97.1. As busy as he is, I think the most effective way for people to understand him as a person or political figure is to come on shows that have a decent following. Don't you think?
Aaron Joo yeah it makes sense given his goal of winning of the presidency. But he has also done low key podcasts interviews with the likes of Ryan Higa and other youtubers so it wouldn’t be out of character for him to hop on fun with dumb.
@@aarondjoo but ultimately i agree with you. Andrew Yang needs to do mainstream media at the moment. I would love to see him on this podcast after the elections, regardless of the results. would be cool if Andrew and MC Jin could do an interview together.
@@numbersandsports4206 I don't think he tries too hard now. He was too much of a wanna be when he was young and it just stuck. Dumbfounded is more natural in his speech
NumbersAndSports I got a friend who, for perhaps a decade of his early life lived in the Bronx. He now lives in the Bay Area and has been here for almost twenty years and he STILL asks for a cup of KAWFEE! lol It’s really hard to knock the NY accent once it’s rubbed on you. Especially with the folks you hang out with out there.
@@pastense I grew up in the Bronx as well, but I've since lost most of the accent. TBH, I don't think there was much of an accent for me to begin with. It really depends on your community and as mobile as people are these days, local accents are starting to fade (LOTs of transplants). I think Long Island has the most consistent and strongest variant of the NYC accent right now. I live in Boston now and rarely do I hear a legit Boston accent.
honestly jin can still battle rap in the modern era. Back then you had to be more off the top with 30 seconds only. A prepared Jin like modern battle rap could be dangerous
Whats good is articulate ability to RHYME! Period. Aside from theatrics, we all believe in ourselves to shelve confidence, but without conscience hip hop wouldnt be here. Glad to see/meet_u halfway brotha.
This was a good interview with two men speaking about their lives and their journeys and Jin to me is a nice MC on the mic. And on a side note I have a you tube channel type in Russell Mills May 22, 2017 to find me.
Priceless, seeing these 2 asian catz together. Jin is that dude that can talk about anything , live the room up, Dum more like let to talk bout this then move on, but in a positive way. Ying n Yang.
Hearing Jin Talk About Those Old Text Battles In The Forums Brought Me Back.. Memories Man, Rapmusicforums, SOHH Etc. Funny Too, The Other Day I Was Going Through Soundclick Looking For N Listening To All The Old Tracks That Was Made During Those Days. Definitely One Of My Favorite FWD Episodes. Edit: N Jin Talking About Writing Lyrics Down LOL I Used To Do It Exactly The Same.. Different Times Brah.
It was awesome meeting Jin at the Andrew Yang rally in LA.. he did his thing for sure... 38 minutes in Dumb is doin the matricks lol #YangGang #TH-camAndrewYang #8MileYang
Great video! Was looking forward to this. The love is strong here. Also, halfway through the video, the video and audio stop matching for Dumb on the bottom right panel.
We can race for cash, but when I step on the gas, my nitrous go blast, leave your ass in the past, Tej you about to lose your garage, I'm a low-budget mechanic but I overcharge - MC Jin as Jimmy from 2 Fast 2 Furious lol
MC Jin was literally the first asian rapper I knew about
Him and jackie chain
Same!
Same here
Technically he was the first solo asian rapper to sign a major deal. Fresh Kid Ice from 2 Live Crew was the first commercial asian mc
For me it was Mountain Brothers. Can’t remember but they toured with A Tribe Called Quest and was signed to Tommy Boy I think.
Damn Jin is articulate and organized with his thoughts, and DFD asking all the right questions. Enjoyed this shit

Jin rockin the Yang2020 hat! He killed it at the LA rally! #yang2020 #yanggang #andrewyang
This comment did not age well... we we're so full of hope just half a year ago.
Two legends gracing us in one podcast! Thank you for the inspiration 🙏🙏
Bruh, Jin was a household name in middle school . Thanks for representing all the ABCS! Also, YANGGANG2020
I respect you MC Jin for your positive vibes and personality.
Both so humble, my deep respects for jin and dumb.
One of the few to get to the Freestyle Friday Hall of Fame. Jin is a legend.

Shouts to Jin. I remember him from not just 106th but also the UGHH forum days.
Tone Riggz YOOO UGHH lol you just took me back
It’s 1st for a guest to talk more than dumb, for me of cos 😂😂
This was a great interview ! Jin brought me back memories 😊💜💜 .. slick had a crush on him !

Finally two asian distant blood brothers collide .. this is epic man. Respect to both 👌👌👌
oh man! MC Jin the OG, what a treat to have him on here, thanks Dumb!
#YANGGANG MC Jin the OG!
Yes!!! This was the interview I needed
WOW!!! Thank you so much for this interview!!!!! Jin is the first Asian rapper I've listened to.
I always wanted to see Jin VS Cassidy when they were both in their prime. Would of been huge for the culture
Cassidy would have took that lol respect to Jin though

Jon J Jin is a legend PERIOD
Jon J If Ruff ryders released i gotta love he would have been a star
if your a hip hop head - jin is a legend. no race when it comes to greatness
So is Dumb
Israel Meza that joint is a banger to this day
Finally. This is what I was waiting for
Yo Jin I loves the authenticity of this interview man..you seriously did a good job explaining your life and rap intertwined :-)
Salute, beautiful interview. Two of my favorites. Respect.
Love to see these two battle!! Make it happen and do it for charity...
Jin is a legend 🙌🏼
this is probably the greatest interview ever done. and with the two greatest rappers that ever lived
This was great! I learned so much more about is career's path and the small but important details, through that path. Thanks Dumbfoundead!!
“Drew YangGang, that’s who I hooked up with” beast! #YangGang #AsianPride #BeProudNotBetter
I was a fan of Jin since high during 106 and Park and I'm a fan of him now
I see you with the Yang hat

jin sure is articulate. love listening to him. and dumb's good at this interviewing shit.
His humbleness at around the 47:15 mark is very admirable. Jin is so authentic! 🔥🙌✊
Dumb and Jin, Breaking it down from then til' now. Great talk!
Mad respect to Dumb for having Jin on the podcast and all but why he talking like he in a dubbed kung fu movie? 😂
