- We are starting to makeover our primary bedroom and Im so excited to work on a space in our house that we can be a little more daring with the design! In this episode we are working on trim, stripping and restoring the original beams & ripping out the old carpet to reveal beautiful brick flooring! Let me know what you think about the wall color options!

More versatility than Rural Earth, imo. I’d put both large swatches up against the white windows. I believe Woodcliff would pair best.
mine too. i liked rural earth best ,but if she's keeping the windows and doors white, that would look too jarring. I've seen similar colors together on zillow. it looks awful. Woodcliff would contrast well with white
I find Rural Earth too red, while Woodcliff Lake is warm and rich. It’s a much more versatile colour given the beam, floor, and white doors/windows! I love it!

Just want to take a moment to shout out Romeo for all of his support in the renovation journey of your 2 homes. I’m sure he doesn’t always want to do a lot of the work involved in these projects, but I’ve never seen him complain, and he is available to lend a hand when you need it. Sending Romeo his flowers 💐💐💐
Totally agree, Romeo is definitely the ultimate male partner so willing to help, and his love for MaCenna is quite evident even when she's playfully ignoring him😊

Love seeing you and Romeo working together. You two get along so well. But Kinsley's toes under the door while you were pulling up the carpet by your closet was so cute! She steals the scene every time!

Woodcliff Lake is the way to go! I think it pulls out just the right 'tones' in the brick & makes it a FEATURE, whereas the other ones contrast and make the brick dull. (ps you guys are brave to take up the carpet before painting 😅lol)

Wood cliff lake has my vote! Just enough contrast with the floor and very warm. The other colours are beautiful but blend to much with the grout I’m the brick

I love this girl so much!!! I admire her logic and methodical approach to each design element, her French provincial design aesthetic (which is not my own, prefer more of a Parisian style) and how she and Romeo work together as a team and sweet little doggie Kinsley. 👍🏽❤️😉

Woodcliff lake!! It looks so lovely next to the brick without being an actual tone of the brick like some of the other ones are. It will be so pretty with the wood beam too.

Throwing an idea out there - why not use retique it on the French doors and stain them the same tone as the beam? It could add so much character and dept to the space! I am sure the room is going to turn out absolutely amazing as always!
I just learned last week that they leave a gap between the drywall and the floor. Otherwise, any moisture would soak into the drywall.
My favorite is Dash of Pepper but I am a green girl. I also like the wood cliff lake. I think the rural earth is too close to the dark stain of the beam. Can’t wait to see what you choose.
Dash of pepper is my choice❤ I think a brown/ taupe may seem like a room full of browns ..the floor is brown -orangey.. a hint of color would be great! And my favorite color is green

I love Rural Earth and Dash of Pepper, so warm and moody french provential, im trying to remember the colour in the french town house you stayed in ..loved your mood board...i actually like these tones because they are just your style moody darker...but what ever you choose as you can see what compliments your bathroom..the best will be good choice..

Rural Earth all the way! I was never a a brown person until I started watching your channel. Of course now I love your neutral colours, you have such wonderful taste McCenna. I can hardly wait till next week. I’m so excited to see the bedroom completed. Kingsley was so cute on the bed while you and Romeo were trying to strip it 😄

EDIT: I’m now thinking Rural Earth will blend too much with the beam color and the bedside tables, so Woodcliff Lake would be my choice.
Woodcliff lake is my favorite brings out the color of the brick and provides a contrast with the black nightstands going into the space but feels cozy in that space!

I love the richness of "Woodcliff lake", but I also really enjoy the mossy tone of "dash of pepper," just wish that one was a shade darker, making it a tad bit moodier! Can't wait to see the finished room, I just know it will look amazing!

I'm loving the earthy green undertones of dash of pepper would bring in the vibes of the kitchen and formal living room. Would tie into the art that you had previously hung on the wall And your bedding.
Dash of pepper! People are so afraid of green and red tones together, but done correctly it is magical!
Olive green would look fabulous with brick floors and german smear would be awesome
I like the tone of Woodcliff Lake the most with the brick floors. I can't wait to see how the room turns out! Also, I'm excitedly awaiting the arrival of my Arlow and Ellori candles! Such a special way for us to participate in what you are doing and have a little touch of your style in our homes!

I can't tell very well from the colors samples you have, but it seems that something that would match the grout of the brick floor or the lightest color of the bricks. Or even another color of the bricks. Your house is looking beautiful and whatever you choose will be amazing .
I love the second one from the bottom of the original swatches you got.
I LOVE the rural earth (if thats the dark brown with the purple undertone). The room would feel so rich, elegant & expensive (lol). Also, the art you own would be to die for on that colour.
She is continuing to go places I would have never gone.. but she sold me on trusting her with design when I saw everything she did with the cottage! I watched all episodes back to back until I caught up and I was in Awe! So who am I to think “no” to all these colors. Lol I’m just waiting to be shocked and blown away and inspired all at the same time with her design eye. I’ve learned that trends and fads are irrelevant and who tells us what’s good and bad and we believe it anyway? I am embracing so much more now that I see it’s all beautiful. No right answer. I’m sure any of these she will make look stunning in the end.
And if she doesn't like it, she can always paint it another colour. Paint is relatively cheap so can easily be changed if you change your mind or get tired of it.

I vote fairview taupe! because for me, since this room has windows showing the garden and skylights, i picture it to be a garden inspired french room and this color leans green while staying neutral and not straight out green. Think greenhouse, antique distressed furniture, detailed moulding, moss-y things, beautiful roses.. idk just what i feel for this room :)

The Woodcliff paint would look incredible!
I painted our primary bedroom "Black Cat" in the summer. Floor to ceiling. It is a black with a very very dark green undertone. With gold/brass details and rich wood. I am obsessed with it. We even have better sleeps now because of the darkness. It feels so cozy, rich and moody.
I really like Woodcliff Lake. I think it will complement the beam and brick floor nicely. I think it’ll have a nice moody impact on the room since it does get so much light. .
Btw, my living room is sculptors clay and the upper third of my dining room is black mocha. Lol! We have similar color styles. Haha!
Dash of pepper would work with the white doors/ windows and black night stands/mirror and your bedding. IMHO… You make everything look fabulous! 😊

I like Rural Earth and Dash of Pepper best against the floors. I wonder though, which color compliments your bathroom colors as well since it’s all part of the master suite. I’m sure the room will look beautiful whatever you choose.

I'm obsessed with Dash Of Pepper and Fairview Taupe! I think they just look so classy and chic, not that the others aren't, but these two just look stunning. However, I know you can always make everything work with your style so any of the paint colors would look amazing! 🤎

They pull in the colour of the grout, which I think would make the room look cohesive and calming without being matchy-matchy. They’re also really neutral so gives opportunity for pops of colour of changing it up with bedding

If you ever want to try a black-ish paint, I highly recommend Behr’s Cracked Pepper. I bought their highest end paint in a satin finish and my bedroom is gorgeous! Doesn’t look black, just a deep lovely dream!

@@taylorewalters My house is mid-century and has the original walnut colored wood. Cracked Pepper made me love the walnut and they beautifully complement each other.
I love the warmth of rustic taupe and how it looks with the red brick floors.
Woodcliff is my choice! I think it goes with the mood of your home and makes the flooring pop not to matchy matchy! Gold frames and art would look amazing with this background.

Rural Earth is my fav! Woodcliff Lake looks good too, but Rural Earth pulls out and compliments the brick a bit more and brings that classy yet warm French vibe. Woodcliff Lake comes across more modern on the other hand, still super pretty. Really depends what you will feel better with and other colours you plan to pair with it. I LOVE THIS. I’ve been trying to come up with a color palette for my home. It’s changed throughout the 5 years we have lived there. I also have dark beams, skylights and windows everywhere. Much inspiration!

What? Macenna... where did the green and plummy colours go! I thought you were going jewel tones, and I got all excited. Choosing colours is so hard, (I also renovated a house and still have two rooms to do) but it's only paint so go crazy... failing that, Id have to say Rural Earth as its rich and warm, but a bit too brown of the floors? Anyway... its your home, your beautiful home and you have a good instinct and wonderful style so excited to see what you do xxx
