- After the 1000th request for tabs and a tutorial for my ukulele version of Django's Minor Swing the best i can provide is this video with a focus on ukulele and a different mix, with the music really low and the solo right in the face :)
I hope this is gonna help a lot of people.
Download the ukulele solo track from:

Love the no-fuss-uke-strap! :-)
Ukulele is the most under rated instrument. It has a happy fun sound. Nice playing.
More like the most over rated, don't you think so?
@@kaze1594 I know I should probably wait another 4 years to reply like you did, but I will tell you now, it is not overrated.
Nope it’s just guitar having less notes
@@cofftps67yago94 sometimes less is more..if a chord is ambiguous the feeling it conveys is in the soul of the listener..if you dont find it moving then you cant hear the orchestra in the background as i do with my uke...entwhistle on bass, grapelli on violin, watts on drums, emmanuelle on rythme and me on the uke..then the co pilot says, 'captain, were about to land, put the uke away'..
@@eamontrolleybus1289 I didn’t get what mean. Maybe it’s a beautiful instrument but it’s still a half sized guitar isn't it?
Bravo !!!
Excelente!
Excellent! The perfect way to play "Minor Swing" with the ukulele, even considering the reentrant tuning. Thanks for posting this video!
Amazing thanks
Ma tête pendant tout le long de la vidéo : O____O
My face during the whole video : O____O
You're SOOOO talented !! That's completely crazy.
Mdr😂😂
I can't believe anyone can play Gypsy Jazz so cool with ukulele😲
I'm impressed😭
Thank you!!
that was beyond amazing holy shit !!!!!!
I never tire of this !
GREAT playing. thank you! i understand its rude to ask for the tab but after spending a few hours watching this video in slow motion, i still cant get past a certain point. id be willing to pay for the tab!
Killed it! Django!!
Ukulele Zen so Stu, when will we see your lesson on this 😉👍
if by lesson you mean taking everybody to school you did it. that was great man.
how can you be that good, with such a strap as that? Usually when someone masters an instrument, they get quality gear ... but no doubting it: you're a great player.
Actually that's the rope of a quality hoodie :D
@@nuvoleasorpresa I think that is the greatest strap ever! The quality of gear doesn't make the player....the player's playing makes the player.....I have a Fluke otherwise I would be copying your strap design....
Holy shit! Didn't even think the ukulele could do this. Thanks so much for sharing this, will certainly be learning some time soon.
Wonderful.
Good work. Thanks for showing me a way to use paracord to support my uke :) I'm using an adjustable gaffer's knot for the part that connects to the head.
awesome. I have been looking for some gypsy jazz for ukes and this is it!!
Mi piace il modo in cui si include la quarta corda . Non è facile per un chitarrista per farlo . Eccellente disposizione !
I transcribe the score. If you want to share it, here's drive.google.com/file/d/1DdA6XjQQ-X2FTl60nte42KK1yQiLjjLm/view?usp=sharing
Amazing Work, thanks!
Lovely!
Beautiful.
Gorgeous. I love your strap too - I never saw that before - genius! Don't ask for tabs guys - unless you want to pay for them. Why ask the uploader to do the work for you?
He has made the solo especially loud for you, and you can see his fingers throughout. That's two big helps already over trying figure it out from Django's recordings.
Work it out bar by bar, phrase by phrase. It's a great exercise in training your ear - that's very, very important.
OllytheOl Hahaha, you're right. That's how i learned this solo in guitar, it was a hell, but it was worth every hour.
I'd pay.
Super!
Thanks!! 🙏🏻
Great version. Thank-You for posting.
Beautifully done, thank you.
Egad that is fantastic. Thanks for making this wonderful tutorial. Brava!
The music was fabulous but I really love your uke strap!
素晴らしい❗
ありがとうございました!🙏
fantastic ! Awesome. Best regards : thanks
Download the video, play it on a player with slow motion (like vlc) and you can see where the fingers go note for note
sono veramente impressionato!! thumbs up !!
Awesome!
Awesome, thanks!
wow, I like your playing!
This is really great! I've been wanting to learn this song for a long time. How did you learn how to play this song? Did you know the guitar version already? Thanks for posting, well done!
Django Reinhardt 3 finger lightning!! One of my favourites
Maybe he just listened to it over and over.
Great!
Omg c'est magnifique ça swing tellement *-*
Is there a chance to get a tab?Wonderful Version.
BRAVOOOO!!!!
Bravo !
That's an interesting strap for the uke. I've been wanting one, but mine doesn't have the little knobs for it, like a guitar. I would have never thought of this. :)
awesome
Ma sei un grande!
I haven't played long enough to want tabs but I'd sure like to get one of those straps. Are they expensive? Where can I get one? I loved your playing and immediately said "Django", so you did a whole lot of things right, keep doing what you are doing it sounds great.
Cool!
Amazing ! 😍
Nice 👍🏻
I know on songs like this you are supposed to improvise but I am going to learn this note for note
:)
:)
:)
:)
Makes me smile.
:)
Damn !
speechless!!
That was amazing, Thanks for posting :)
beau boulot!
bravo!
OK, all of you super-talented free-content-making geniuses on youtube, which part of "I don't have time for any more new channels that I will watch compulsively" do you not under...[clicking subscribe button]...[sigh]
what kind of ukulele is that? im looking to buy my first ukulele, i'm debating if i should go with the koa kamaka HF1 or HF-1D made in hawaii.. but anyway's just wanted to say that was truly nice playing, keep up the good work, hopefully one day i learn how to play the ukulele!
That's wonderfull but impossible to read your fingers, could you do it more slowly ? with a tab ?
Effin awesome! Is the chord chart for the guitar part posted somewhere?
Thanks for the great video! Any chance you could put the backing track audio on soundcloud too? It would make for a great practice track for solos. Thanks!
Can you please do a real tutorial ?????
a uke strap of distinction. :) your skills would make even a plastic uke sound like a million euro .
is that a soprano uke?
There is no tabs for minor swing anywhere else so I'm going to have to go in frame by frame and right it down by hand...
Did you put it down to paper? Can I be so rude to ask for it? I know it's quite some work but I'd promise I'd learn it until the last note !
If yes : baptistesandere@hotmail.com
If no, enjoy it !
ciao
+beau ling : Don't want to intrude or be rude, but if you could be so kind as to send me a few notes as well, that would be so swell... maarten.jozef.vergauwen@gmail.com
beau ling Okay rude person number 3 (I'm so so sorry, but seriously if youre still up to sending those thank you) brubi33@gmail.com
rude person number 4, sorry man, but i really love this song, pancho.ahumada@hotmail.com
I would LOVE a tab to this! Got one? seatoskymt@gmail.com
how did you learn this song? where can i find The tablature?
You really pull a lot of sound out of that thing
is there any way u can make a tutorial on this ?? or share the tabs? :)
Che cavallo!!
Great skills - are you tuned in standard GCEA?
Yes, both ukulele and guitars are standard tuned
Titánico
Unbelievable! You prove that a true professional needs nothing more than a piece of twine as your ukelele strap...You seem to have prehensile fingers...anything in the DNA? Thanks for your music.
Thank you so much!
Btw "Flatland" is one of my favourite books! :)
ciao Stefano, molto interessante django su ukulele, in che città siete? fate dei concerti? insegnate? spero di avere altre info, bravissimo! sara
Boss, you still need to make a slow tutor.. im a beginner cannot catch up. Hope you can consider for beginner
I try to start to play this song. I would like to se some tablature. Do you have some?
Oswaldo Coyote Se pã vou eu e Lia pra Londrina fazer uma gig
Hi there thanks so much for this video, I have a question what chords are played right after the intro? thanks :)
I've been looking for the tabs for this song everywhere! Do you have a link for them?
which Uke model are you using ?
WOW
plz make a tutorial!!! It’s too fast for me to learn!!- -
WooW!
Awesome but not a very good lesson. It's very hard to try to figure out. This is more of just a cover but this is really cool.
Please tabs!
Tutorial pls ! or any tab
Hi, which ukulele do you use please? It sounds amazing
It's a Mahimahi MC-35W, I really love it! :)
@@nuvoleasorpresa thank's à lot! I'm really surprised by this amazing sound :) you play very very well!
Any tabs?
pleaseeeeee tab
There's a new link in the description ;)
Can I upload it on my page?
you can share it or embed it, not upload
pleas make a tutorial :D
Solo? I heard three instruments...
+lucfireful You can have lots of instruments in the background that was just one of the solos in minor swing.
No tabs but you can download the solo and slow it down with common audio softwares ;)
Lesson? ---> solo!!!!
Lesson learned: just give up now.
There is always someone that wants tabs for everything. If you played Twinkle Twinkle they would ask for tabs. Who can read and play with the stupid things anyways? Listen and figure it out. If you miss a few notes exact like it was played in 1940 so what?
Actually a lot of people can read and play tabs. I use tabs all the time, they're easy to read and not hard to write. When someone asks for the tabs it means they like the song and want to play it too, if they don't get the tabs they will most likely figure it out on their own. Why complain about something nice?
*****
I'd be willing to bet if this was tabbed note for note the way it is being played
you could not read it or even play it like this. He plays with decorations that are beyond tabs and tab players. You can learn the basic Minor Swing notes anywhere and its not brain surgery to figure them out. The rest is feel and soul. You don't get that playing left brain tabs or reading music notation.

It's like having the steps to a dance mapped out for you. You memorize the steps, then you can dance the dance. That's how tab works for me.
