Lou Costabile ... My dad owned a 1938 Cadillac. What stood out about my dad's car was, I believe, a sun visor (exterior) taken from a 1938(?) Pierce Arrow. Picture the '38 with an exterior sun visor! SHARK!

@@loucostabile Hi Lou .. a couple of other things: In the summer, my dad would remove the hood side-panels for better cooling. The motor mounts were ahead of the front axles thus stressing the frame. When you turned the steering wheel, you had to "hand over hand" turn as if you let the wheel go the wheel would turn by itself in the direction of the turn you were coming out of. As an aside, he also had a 1959 Cadillac. One day, he hit a piece of metal on the highway. It punctured a hole in the gas tank. He pulled over to the shoulder, and, having some tools and parts in the trunk, placed a military type 5 gallon jerry can between the grill and radiator frame, under the hood, and plumbed the can into the fuel line then headed home. The amount of space under those hoods made repairs a joy!

@@loucostabile Yes, and look - the button tilts in to allow the horn to keep on sounding without having to keep pressing the button! Early automation, perhaps...I'm also surprised at the gentleman not knowing what the 'blanket holder' strap was - on the back of the front seat...Looks like they handle more modern cars most of the time. Beautiful car...One thing that got me was when you asked if the fuel filler was 'under the tail-light'...This was a 1940's on thing...Funny that they didn't find SOME way to hide the basic screw-on cap on an expensive care like this...

I hit pause and read the decal on the oil filter container and also the decal on the air cleaner. When this car was restored, the decal for the air cleaner was placed on the oil filter container. The decal on the oil filter container gives instructions for washing the filter in gasoline (which is what you do with the air cleaner filter). The decal for the oil filter was placed on the air cleaner and it gives instructions for changing the oil and oil filter. Nevertheless a beautiful restoration and awesome car.

Get outta'here!!! - Yet another early masterpiece from reliable Cadillac! - Obviosly, this unique piece of automotive history definitely wound up in the right hands! (In _my_ mind, I see an enormous potential in these videos - if the magnificent rides were taken out for an actual spin, and they were filmed from another 'follow-car' and from different angles - mainly, because I feel these superb cars is that credit due!....) But, then again, I guess everything has it's 'limits', both in terms of manpower, time and money spent on making these rare glimpses at all possible! . . . . . . . . Anyway, as always - thanks from Norway - for sharing Lou! 💓 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Curious at 7:45 - engine did not turn over, had to be tried a second time (how quiet is THAT!!) There's definitely a case to be made for rewiring this car to 12 volt. - with a 12 volt starter and alternator. Since the car is already not original (repainted from the original black) - might as well do some reliability mods such as a 12 volt conversion. The car deserves it (and so does the next owner)...And yes, i know ALL the wiring needs to be changed (except perhaps to the lighting and illumination - where just changing the lamps to 12 volt would suffice. I'd even go as far as retrofitting LED (warm white) lamps for the headlights - I did a restoration on an early 50's Buick and used period-correct shape, but LED (3000k colour) lamps. Totally reliable and provided more illumination while staying true to the incandescent look colour of the original bulbs. maybe I'm too picky.

Currently this is my hobby to relax and share with others. I'll continue to do my best with "my process" (Front, Side, Back, Interior, engine, Exhaust sound) until this becomes more profitable. The clue is in the word itself, to whit....'uni' meaning one, singular, alone, no others, peerless.....it cannot be qualified, ergo, the car isn't "so unique", or "very unique". It is, rare, exceptional, but not unique.

blanket holder ?? i think not .its a passenger entrance exit assist .all cars of that era up till the late 50 early 60's has rope assist . and the color could not have been original as metalic's didn't happen in production cars till the 50's only a custom builder would have metalic paints.

You are dead wrong on that. Metallics have been around since before automobiles. The most popular colors were gunmetal variations, every automobile by 1930 had colors that came in a poly/irid/or metallic coat. Those eras missed nothing, you just missed the era.
