Happy dance for 1/3 of the way! You two are really doing it!!! MB I always admire the look of love your face radiates when you gaze on your daughter when she’s sleeping/waking up…you can feel it right through the camera…powerful! Wishing you a happy hiking day!
Watching y’all has become part of my morning routine. You have become like family. Don’t know what I will do once y’all finish but till then, I will enjoy the moment. Hike On and be safe!! ❤️
I’ve been watching since the Foothills Trail!! Congratulations on 1/3!!! I love when Little Bear does her evening talk and includes her kitty!!! I’m sure she misses her terribly… thank you for the tutorial on FarOut. I have the complete AT downloaded as we are planning our 2026 hike. I follow along with the hikers on the AT book and Farout app. Congratulations again!!!!
Nice job capitalizing on the dry slot before the rain. 👍 1/3 of the way there! Love the stream footage of the little fish. Great miles ladies, rest well. Perfectly splendid. 😂 ✌️
The Lord is an awesome artist. The beauty He has created is breathtaking. Enjoy the smiles and the miles and above all else delight in His creations. ❤️
Awesome. You have 2/3’s to go! This definitely was a chill day for you both. Glad you hiked with out the thunderstorms. Love and light to you both and all of us couch potatoes 😮😂. 🐱🧸🐻⛰️🥾🙏
Before you you know you’ll be at the half way point looking back at the 1/3 mile mark 😊. It all goes by so fast so keep enjoying every minute on the trail you have with each other and fellow hikers!!
Great job ladies! Love your videos! If you need a shuttle service for resupply near mile 1061 or 1057 (Rt. 491 or Rt. 77 in MD) ring me up! I can also offer an overnight stay/shower/laundry in my home if you are interested. Only 5 minutes from the trailhead. Safe travels!
Hi Bears, so good to see you back on trail. Glad you decided to head out. Did it ever storm? Pretty trail. Is it LB who spots the critters, despite their camouflage? Whoever it is has a really good eye. I do appreciate your sharing them with us. MB, how are your new shoes doing? Are they comfortable after a day of hiking in them? Hope you were able to get a good night's rest. Take care. Stay safe. See you tomorrow.
What a great day, with a lunch near water. Would have liked to see around that campsite a little, it looked cool with the way the tree were. Hope you had a good night if it stormed. Those sandwiches looked like a good idea. Was thinking small roles like that will pack ok for a couple days. (I would have had the temptation to drop a tiny morcel of bread to feed those minnows) but don't feed the critters you hike by, right. I would have broken the rules. Have a great monday.🌲👋
If any one of my 3 kids gave us 2 straight weeks of the same energy and positive attitude that Little Bear has shown for 70+ days under the most challenging of conditions, we'd be soooo thrilled! Inspirational
Huh. Surprising to see Largemouth Bass fingerlings that high up in the mountains. I'll have to remember Daleville for some fishing later this summer! Congratulations on making it 1/3 of the way! I'm glad you two are enjoying my home state so much. We really did win the natural scenery lottery here in VA.
Another great video, Mama Bear and Little Bear. Woohoo, 1/3 of the way! Loved the clear mountain stream with all the fishies doing their thing, so peaceful. Hope you didn't get bad weather overnight. G'nite, Elle! Praying for your journey north.
Every step is building character you beautiful 🐻. I do understand your ideology on challenges. Very pretty hike for you this day. Thank you for taking us along. Your videos are so therapeutic for me. God bless you and yours at home!✌️🙂❤️
Congratulations 1/3 of the way to Mama K! I remember passing through Virginia in my teens and living the rolling hills. Y’all are doing great. The memories and experience for Little Bear will be so special.😊❤
MB you have a perfectly splendid English accent. Good enough to meet the king I’m sure. Lovely video as usual and obviously really nice day for both of you. I hope the thunderstorms are not too crazy. A third of the way there, but I bet the next 2/3 will be quicker. You’re really pushing up the mileage now and looking very strong. Still smiling. Love and hugs. R ❤❤
Loving Virginia....I've only been to Virginia Beach and Va/DC area. Would love to take a trip to the mountains there one day. You really capture it well....Happy hiking
77 Days is longer than I have ever hiked. And Im 60 years old-- been backpacking for 50 years.. Your daughter should be proud even if you don't make it to Katadyn until after the snows.
🚶♀️🐻👟👟🚶♂️🐻🐈👟👟⛺🌞 another great video and you both are moving right along glad you found your spot before the Storm come stay safe and happy hiking and goodnight Ellie 🐈😺
Usually I used to see more hikers at the end of July through August at Hurds Corner, Pawling, NY, where I used to live as a Trail Angel. I would love to meet up with you two, share some watermelon. Since I live in the Hudson Valley, I could meet up with you anywhere in Putnam and Dutchess Counties. :) Keep track.
Yay a third!! Does that make the summit date in October? Definitely doable but it really puts into perspective how long the trail truly is! Keep this pace and you guys will have 231 days on trail in total to complete the hike :)
If you look at previous hikers, you really can't rely on this math formula. Hikers pick up the pace and mileage during some sections. Some sections like the Whites will lower mileage. In the end, it's just enjoying the journey. They can always flip up to Katahdin and finish SOBO if they are worried about the October deadline.
@@goldpop5001 Yes. There are hostels along the trail that offer slackpacking. Within the Whites, one hostel encourages hikers to go SOBO in the Wildcats section because it's so difficult.
Mama bear a question for you, yesterday I hiked in the local wilderness area to me. right at 6 miles to be able to test some equipment, my garmin inreach for one,and and different configuration of gear in my pack. Did 6 miles with 245 ft elevation change in less than .25 mile in 6 hrs, in your opinion. Is 2 mile and hr a average pace an for moderate experienced hiker Most of my hiking up to this point has been mission oriented ( search and rescue) I do like the Garmin explore App
Hi! Yes, I think it’s pretty close. 2mph, for an average, is a decent speed, especially in the beginning. You’ll find you’ll get faster, definitely when the terrain is a little flatter or less steep downhill. I wouldn’t worry about it too much though as you’ll figure out your stride.
Question: do you sleep in same clothes you hike in? ( LBs black shirt) or do u always change to sleep clothes? Just curious if one needs a separate set of clothes?
We always carry a dedicated set of sleep clothes, both for safety and health. Safety in case we get completely soaked and the temps drop; for health because rashes can occur if you stay in wet clothes all day and night. Little Bear sometimes stays in her hiking clothes if they are already dry. I almost always change my clothes for bed.
Have you been keeping up with your daughter’s weight. If she burns up all of her fat then she will start burning muscle. I had a friend that this happened to while he was through hiking the AT. It is very important for a juvenile that this not happen. I know you are taking some zeros and that is importantly for you both to keep your normal weight so eat as much as you can when off the trail.
Happy dance for 1/3 of the way! You two are really doing it!!! MB I always admire the look of love your face radiates when you gaze on your daughter when she’s sleeping/waking up…you can feel it right through the camera…powerful! Wishing you a happy hiking day!

Congrats on 1/3
Love seeing all the lizards and fish thru your lens. Cheers

Proving me totally wrong daily. You two are the real deal. Go go go! I want you to do this thing all the way.
I think LB could tap the sign at the top of Katahdin and head back south

Ellie the Guard Cat 😂😂😂😂❤
We stopped there today, and we are staying at Wilson Creek Shelter.
Congrats on 1/3 of the way Ladies! You both are doing amazing! Journey on! 🌻✌️❤️🦆
I feel little bear's confidence is way up since the start. You guys will remember this for the rest of your days.
Little bear appears to be getting stronger. Maybe she would be good at cross country running sport.. Good video. 👍
She is so strong! Not sure she loves running though as a main hobby. She’s a wrestler and Jiu Jitsu kid. 😊
Ahh, May and June in Virginia, where there is a threat of thunderstorms everyday. And it rains everyday but only about 30 min.
Sounds a lot like Florida, lol! 😂
But we’ve experienced hours of rain vs only 30 minutes so far.
