The oil vapor and the pump getting warm is normal operation. I do ac and use vacuum pumps all the time. The only accurate way to measure vacuum is in microns using a digital gauge. Thank you for you vid

Do you think this would be good for de-gassing liquid silicone and plastic resin? Basically you mix it up in a cup and then you put the cup in a sealed box and hook a vacuum up to it and it pulls the air out of the liquid silicone or plastic resin so it avoids bubbles in the final cast. It might be overkill, I don't know. The most I would be vacuuming is about 1.5-2 cubic feet. It doesn't need to go down to a millibar or something. 100mB would be more than good enough.
4:55 Try following the other oil fill line which is on the casting, it indicates a much lower oil level. looks like they gave you two level indicators, BONUS!
the beautiful thing about harbor freights is that they give you a 90 day return policy and even if it is still good return it and just say it doesn't work and you get your money back lol just make sure you keep your receipt lol
That kind of behavior makes you an a-hole of epic proportions. Cheating companies by "borrowing" a product and then returning it as "defective" when it is in fact perfectly good makes you truly evil. You would be better off just going to your local auto parts store and using their tool loaner program to borrow one for free. People like you are leaches to society and always try to cheat the system. I'll bet you cheat regularly on your taxes too. I'll be your wife cheats on you with the pool boy and I'll bet your kids cheat on all their tests at school. Rotten behavior passes down to the family. I'll bet you're also the type that votes for a corrupt dictator then storms our nation's capital to help in destroying our democracy for your own selfish interests. I hope I was clear about what I think of you.
@Blunted &co. 8 months ago you can purchase 1 or 2 year full warranty replacement, better be worth the $21. i paid the beautiful thing about harbor freights is that they give you a 90 day return policy and even if it is still good return it and just say it doesn't work and you get your money back lol just make sure you keep your receipt lol Thanks Blunted &co.
Just got one of these to replace a nearly identical Chinese one I got on Amazon a few years ago. Tried to fix the old one(seized) but while taking it apart, i realized that almost all of the smaller socket head screws holding the stages together weren't much more than finger tight. In checking this one out, I added the 16 oz. of oil that came with it. No change to the oil level/sight. I'm buying more, or is this "oil sight" just a non-technical piece of bling that the Chinese are noted for?
i use 15 40 in my compressor diesel oil in winter i would use thinner if it was cold here..i got a theory install some refrigerant in empty system run compressor then let it out or vacuum pump it out ill bet it would work say if one did not have a vacuum pump .but i would not do it as its not allowed ...right i bet lol :)
This is a really bad pump. I've recently got similar chinese 2-stage pump (which costed ~150$), it is much much quieter, and never emits oil mist continiously (just a fraction of a second when crossing critical pressure). Maybe it's a malfunction of sorts and if you replace it - another copy might be better.
They all emit oil mist, just not that much. Also, there are (inexpensive) chinese pumps which has oil mist filters integrated (they look like a muffler on top of the mist exhaust).
Yes 30 minutes pull down once you reach your vacuum setting 30 minutes to boil off the impurities inside and pull them out much too noisy for me I would go hysterical listen to that racket for 30 minutes I had a Robinair I never had a problem with but those bastards are $300 today
Nobody likes china here but sometimes we stubborn Americans refuse to take a few minutes and read the manual then blame china when your nba team looses lol Looks like no oil in the vacuum pump u need to add the oil should be provided with the pump
Dude "I need to charge 1 air conditioner ..not 50 !" I listed to that part at least 10 times great vid !

Not oil vapor, it's water vapor. A good vacuum boils water at a low temperature and vaporizes moisture in the system.

It is my understanding that pressure is used to do such work . the pressure makes he bubbles stay so small they dint show up in the cast
It’s supposed to smoke that’s the contaminants burning off. Lol🤦♂️😂😂😂😂😂

yeah i totally seen that the other day and was like what ?

He will have that sh** torn up in one day. Total brain dead.
Give that boy a seggar for being insane and ignorant.

@@NOBOX7 Thats why it smokes. Too much oil. Mine only has the fill casting line at half way and it works fine.

what are you talking about? Mercury?
Don't encourage him.
Whats the difference between 1 & 2 stage
Karl Keenan 1 basically has 1 pump while stage 2 has two pumps in a row pretty much
@@macwitt8788 The stages are in series, otherwise it's a single stage.

yes i agree friend , the oil mist is unexceptable

i see , thanks for your input friend

A cheapo digital micron gauge, would tell you that your pump is probably capable of reaching 15 mcrons.
