My favorite finish is satin for the walls and semi or high gloss for trim. So much easier to clean with kids and dogs!

Heirloom Traditions paint! Built in primer, self leveling and built in top coat. Painted my oak cabinets white three years ago and look exactly the same today!

Semigloss with built in primer, has held up well on textured walls with kids and dogs. Sherwin Williams is our tried and true. We always splurge for the top of the line paint.

My mom works at a sherwin Williams and flat paint is crap it gets dirty really fast and is hard to clean up

I usually buy Dulux paint (they give me a discount). Eggshell on the walls, semi-gloss on the trim.

My favourite mid-range brand is Premier Extra (one coat coverage - primer and paint) in their Satin finish from Canadian Tire. It just goes on nicely, covers well, and cleans well. Now to find a new colour for my bedroom...hmmmm

I always end up with visible streaks after it dries that shows each line I wiped down the wall. How do I prevent that from happening?

As I was growing up my parents used semi gloss in kitchens and bathrooms. Flat in bedrooms & living room. In USA. Renting now. I believe it's the same. Although the paint is cheaper. Comes off to the layer below when cleaning. WOW. I really enjoy watching you clean Sarah 😅

My opinion: flat is the prettiest, chic-ish. Glossy paint looks cheap and commercial.
Flat covers the most imperfections in your walls and gives them and cleaner look.
Wish flat cleaned better!!!!

We need a flat paint that is easier to clean. I just love the finish of flat paint on the walls, and I don’t think I can give it up 😂

You might try a Mr Clean Magic Eraser. They’re brilliant at removing stains from paint, especially things like smoke!

I bought such good quality paint in such an awful finish. $80/gal but “velvet” finish.. looks like garbage and when I wipe the walls it shows and leaves a film even with just water.
