    I love gold because the government stopped making papers bills larger than 100 dollars years ago because they don’t want us Americans to be able to have the freedom to transfer and be portable with large amounts of money easily. Gold does that. Diamonds do to but I’m not sure about investment purposes. This isn’t financial advice.

    • @OurHeroXero
      @OurHeroXero 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      I'm not a financial advisor...buy diamonds aren't a good choice. Diamonds aren't anywhere near as rare as they're made out to be (De Beers limits aboveground supply). Not only that, a diamonds _value_ isn't readily clear and varies based on clarity, cut, colour, and karat. Most jewelers are in the business of selling diamonds...not buying; unless you have something truly spectacular, you won't get anything near what you paid (if you even get an offer at all).
      Any touting diamonds for investment purposes either doesn't know what they're talking about or profits from their sale.

      I started stacking silver in the mid-80s... made the move to mainly gold in the 2010s. So as a (somewhat) wise old sage (at least old), consider 70:1 to be about the best it's gonna get. MAYBE you'll get 65:1 for a few days, but I'm surprised how many people think 16:1 will come around again. Dinosaurs will come around again before 16:1 or anything close. I respect the fact you're at least looking at fiat alternatives. Silver is not the common man's gold any more than bitcoin is digital gold. You are precisely right. Gold is for wealth protection. Silver is more for barter. There are plenty of stories of Jews fleeing Nazi Germany with a few gold coins sewn into the seams of their clothes. But, if you have to run, you must have a place to run to. Good discussion but major issue with the way of thinking. 1st off buy only 1 oz coins. In fact constitutional even better. Have it packed in safe ready grab and go. Leave buying large bars for investors.
    Gold is great but people for the most part have no idea about gold and are less likely to have means to barter for a 2000 dollar gold coin. But a 25 dollars silver coin is better choice. So I say buy both but be prepared to move it simple.

    • @Mike.L.
      @Mike.L. 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      Those are not stupid questions at all! There is solid logic given in this video if you are in any scenario that involves bugging out. Of course, I'm not qualified to give financial advice, so make your own decisions. That said, I've been in the PM game since 2008, so I have a fair amount of experience (good AND bad.) If I were worried about bugging out, I would put my primary focus on gold as the video recommends. I would also make it a point to have several hundred dollars face value in Constitutioinal (pre-1965) 90% silver coins - mainly dimes and quarters. A few tubes of American Silver Eagles wouldn't hurt either. There is a good premium above spot price when buying those two types of silver, but there is a reason. Those are the most desired/recognized types of silver and when things get crazy those are the types of silver people want. I remember how the premiums on 90% coins and ASE's went ballistic with the Covid hysteria. I was sitting pretty as I already had a good amount of both. There are times when the premiums aren't so bad, and you can buy in those times to save yourself some $$$.

    I have heard many versions of this point. Though I like how you put it in no nonsense stark terms with visuals. Gold is too expensive for me. I only stack/collect silver because I could afford it. So silver is a great opportunity for the little guy to get his foot in the door. Now what happens if there is a big jump in silver prices? Say a couple hundred dollars an ounce. Even a $100 an ounce. Then you have another dilemma. Most people would panic realizing their silver quadrupled. Is it well hidden? Who knows you got a significant stash of silver? Should you have it insured? Do you have an alarm? Is it protected? Do you need to keep it in a vault not located at your home? The elites will hold silver prices down as long as they can. Yet silver has been money for thousands of years even more so than gold.

    If we have to flee our home in SHTF, we’re driving and I can throw our entire stack, silver & gold, into the car in less than 3 minutes and it can readily be stashed out of sight from outside the vehicle. This is EXACTLY why you don’t bury your stack, store it offsite in a hard-to-access location, or have it hidden at home in a location that takes a long time to access. The ratio will narrow, guys. Patience. We're in one of those cycles. $50+ an ounce? Who can say. But I'd wager we see at least 65:1. And that's the minimum I trade for gold. In contrast, 'IF' the ratio widens to 100+:1 I'd trade gold for silver in a heart beat.

When you pulled out the two 100 oz silver bars and the tube of gold maples says it all and one of the reasons I personally hold the metals at at ratio of 75% Gold and 25% Silver. Plus at my age I don't have decades to wait for silver to make a run up again. Anyway, keep up the good work and thank for another .9999 fine video Sir.. Life is good. God Bless

How are gonna carry all that. Burry the em fkr for later. Practice exercising so that your body will be used to stressful situations.

    If a SHTF situation? I think cash would be king first and foremost. Followed by a debit card with a known balance. A small stash of precious metal might be helpful short term but the public has no idea the value of gold or silver. So tread with caution unless you think you might want to bribe someone of power. It's all eye-candy until SHTF!

      Cash, yes - for a very short time. After that, silver and gold. The people used to use them. They will learn again very fast. You won't be able to depend on the banking system as it's already getting wobbly. In SHTF it will be all about what you have in your hand at the time.

    Very good insights... There is always a lot to think of in life... no guarantees... My advice... never do anything out of fear... I have always purchased silver for the beauty of the coins... so maybe I was never a "stacker" in the sense of buying for weight... I did always think of this aspect from the moment I started with precious metals, so I was more into gold myself.... Yet I still wanted silver so I just have to leave the silver behind if I have to run. I will take my diamonds and my gold and run with that... :)

    That's why I would still get gold from highly fractional up to 1 oz along with stacking silver, even with today's GSR. I'm using my own GSR range between 40-50 to 1, buying as many deals and dips as possible within my budget, along the way. Also, if feasible, some silver could be packed on very loyal k-9 companions(much emphasis on feasible). But, you absolutely have to have some high octane(GOLD).

    It's a very good point. Some people might want to consider converting a portion of their silver to gold for that very reason, it brings logistic diversity to the stacking. You might have to leave some silver behind in an emergency but if you have some gold you could save maybe half of your holdings in the interim.

    100% correct. If you live in a big city, you're going to want to have a little bit of everything in Silver, only in 1 ounce increments or below, and probably 500 ounces or less. I'd argue that 200 ounces comprised of Constitutional, government minted coins, 1 ounce generic rounds and bars is a good mix, and about 200 ounces is an ideal amount, but 500 ounces is doable, as a maximum. Anything else should be kept in Gold, preferably in fractional variety. Make sure that you have a sturdy backpack and/or a very sturdy tool-bag type bag that can handle significant weight to carry your stuff out in. Zip tie your tool bag handles together, and zip tie the zipper to the handle so that it's not super easy for someone to get their hands into, if you happen to get into a struggle. It's all good advice. I don't want the country to collapse either, but it's an obvious risk, given trajectory that America has been on for decades now. Your customer in the sunglasses looks like Wally from Leave It To Beaver. 😂

    Thanks, but....If you have to leave in a hurry as you say, how are you going to, if need be, move several/multiple members of your family (poss. even someone in a wheelchair, or disabled, or babies/children, or animals), how are you going to move firearms if you have multiples, or more than one vehicle, or a particular vehicle, or adequate but potentially bulky food, medicine and water supplies? How are you going to handle any of the possible and various SHTF scenarios if you're miles from home when stuff goes down? You could be in gridlock on the freeway/highway/turnpike.You could be in an office 80 mi. away. Or at 3000 ft. in an airplane travelling. Or in the hospital emergency room being treated for a broken leg. Or trapped by the dangerous chaos below in the upper stories of a high rise building. In all cases the best you can do obviously is try to have some contingency planning/plans with these kinds of details considered in advance. That's it really, the most you can do! But, you have to give it some thought and have a rough outline (discussed among the responsible adults concerned) of what you might attempt to do, where you might hope or attempt to get to or go, who is responsible for what gear, equipment and supplies or 'stuff', what to do if separated etc. Your store of valuables is certainly of concern, but in many possible cases, (some mentioned) is not even going to be 'the primary' concern. Your 'helpful' rant sounds just a little bit alarmist ( with an element of 'hair on fire' energy to it) , though you used the term, "common sense" when urging people to switch out to gold for minimizing weight and bulk , which may even be a consideration but is such a small piece of the greater whole. Heck, gold could prove to be the harder metal to trade for goods and services in certain adverse situations. It's all just speculation

    You're right. The GSR is high. That's why I'm going hard-core on silver. If you're a prepper, you'll be ahead of economic policies, and be set up before the ball drops. Plan and practice. I'll admit that if someone has kids, it's a different ballgame. But I live a simple life, and I'm never so comfortable that I wouldn't be ready to drop everything on a dime and leave town.

    You are right on target if we consider the aspect of getting out out of Dodge - Not sure what the Silver to Gold ratio will change to in the near future but it will change soon. Current ratio is 90 to 1 how much lost will one incur if they sell silver for gold right now versus when we get to 50 to 1 or 25 to 1 ? Just something to ponder. 1,000 ounces of silver is equal to exactly 62 pounds and 8 ounces. IF I had to evacuate and could get out of dodge, I think I could find room in my truck for my silver. You make some very good points and I do plan on converting much of the small amount I have of silver into gold when we get the next silver spike. Silver will spike soon.

    Back in ancient times, silver was used for monetary goods and service more than gold. When the kings or sultans decided to travel with their caravan, they figured it out after several attempts that they were carrying so much silver. Does they would switch to gold instead because they didn’t have to take as much when they switched over to gold as the standard. expect the worst, prepare for the best and whatever comes both will be equally as important in survival.🤔🤯🤯
