I stay nr pune airforce base and for me this is an every day/night event. From my balcony I see their maneuvers. It's amazing. It feels like it's going to crash in one of the building bit suddenly it takses of. Breathtaking maneuvers. And lastly you soul gets vibrated when any fighter flies above ur building

Indian Navys 2 Mig29s n 1 Boeing P-8I in Varuna formation flew all the way from from their home airbase in Goa. Rafales n Jaguars flew from their base in Gwalior. Sukhoi's n Mig29s flew from from Bases in Punjab n Rajasthan. Delhi International Airport also has a military / VVIP (for PM) Terminal nearby called Palam Airforce base, which is used by military aircrafts.
Main last 15 years se regular is program ko dekhta raha hu kyoki mere duty inke pass he hote hai.. humare ministry aur Delhi police mil kar is event ko karwate hai
Just for your information, I am in Delhi and we see these fly pasts from Jan 15th onwards. We see them in real during practices as well..Its a true feast for eyes and amazing. We have seen the parade at the Rajpath as well and its a divine experience. The sense of Patriotism and pride is there in minds and eyes of even Old ppl sitting there! Just like we see at Wagah Border. Now for your question on what happens during the FLY PAST ... On Republic Day and during the practices and rehearsals, the Normal Airport Flights are put on HoLD for at least 1.5 hours and the are diverted to Jaipur, Lucknow or they dont even fly at all to Delhi. Delhi will soon have two bigger Airports. So its a challenge to do this. But yes, India is a huge nation with the best of mind and talent.. You guys would have seen.. . By the way, I love your videos.. And I am a Multani as well. The parents were brought to India in 1947, sadly. They left all their lands and money in Dera Ghazi Khan, I am told.. Desitny!

The planes come from their bases all over north India. For them, it is like a bombing run without bombs. The whole airspace over north India is shut down. Nothing can fly except the IAF jets. Anything that flies can be shot down after a warning. There is a very high degree of professionalism in the flypast. Planes take off from air bases in Punjab, MP, and UP and fly past the president with split-second timing. It is a highly choreographed exercise.
All planes flew from their home bases to come together in Delhi-> Rajpath ... and then went back to their bases...IAF >>Touch The Sky with Glory >>Jai Hind !
I have been to defense Expo, it was one of the best experience to see men in uniform demonstrate their abilities, there I saw Tejas perform and it was also accompanied by Surya Kiran team. Along with a Su30 Mki. Can definitely rate it as one of the most thrilling experience I had, the sheer rush of excitement to hear the rumbling sound of jets, is something people should atleast experience once. I highly recommend it.

Only non schedule flights and charter planes are stopped for only 3 hours. And all planes take off from different different airbases for air show. If u listen carefully the announcer saying that.
