When I first started to watch Supernatural, I immediately noticed that Jared and Jensen had great chemistry as brothers and they looked like they could actually be brothers. If another actor was cast as Sam, Supernatural would have been a very different show.

He actually was enrolled in UT Austin when he got cast in Gilmore Girls. His plan was to go back and forth from Austin to California to try to do both. But decided acting is what he wanted to do. So he dropped out.
he was enrolled in UT, he was set to study engineering. but he got cast as dean forester in Gilmore Girls and he has worked every since. he has been on tv since he was 17
