    Good Morning, while watching this tutorial I was looking at the cuff itself and being an artist & photographer I noticed that the central design reminded me of an owl (owls are a favorite of mine) and I became more intrigued than ever. I love it.

    I don't know what to say and still I have a lot to say . It is amazingly gorgeous ! Your work is so neat even back side is so orderly on Lacy Stiff . Thank You so much being very specific with all the ruler lines , that will help very much when I can start mine . Got everything else than Cabs haven't manage to find yet from what is available around my neighborhood in Canada . You are SO amazing talented Lady . I absolutely adore your tutorials and chats . Instead of buying Lacy's stiff stuff I went to a fabric store and bought a 6 inch piece of fairly stiff interfacing. It cost 83 cents and I can get at least 6 bracelets out of it. If you bought a 8 inch piece you could get a lot more than 6.

    • @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry
      @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Kathy Bass Yes, interfacing works very well for bead embroidery. I like the option of colors with Stiff Stuff but it is more expensive 😃

      I'm using Pellon Peltex 70 Ultra Firm Stabilizer. Find it in the interfacing section at JoAnn Fabrics. I think it's ~ $8/yard; and, of course, you can get 1/4 yard and make several bracelets out of it. Even cheaper if you use one of the coupons frequently offered by JoAnn Fabrics.

    Hi, Stephanie! Just FYI, backstitch is quite forgiving if you don't put the needle down exactly where the beads end. In fact, I found it worked better to leave just a tiny bit of space so the beads can nestle in comfortably. That way, there's no chance of creating a pucker because the thread is holding the two beads in too small a space.

    Hi Stephanie, hope ur having a great day beading. I love all your beading tutorials, I wanted to ask you if you could make a bracelet tutorial using a 25x18 oval bead and seed beads, I am wanting to make a bracelet but I have no idea how to start. Everything I have learned is by watching ur tutorials which I'm very grateful. Do you think you could make a beaded 25x18 oval bead with seed beads only or whatever you want to add on, I would appreciate it so much if you can do this. I see alot of pendants but not bracelets. Thank you and have a very blessed day, continue with ur tutorials you are a great teacher.

    G'Day My Most Talented Master of the Beads, So is this a little teaser or is this your design for our bead challenge? If it's the later then my muse and little grey cells are now under some pressure to come up with something which will be almost to the standard that you have set here with this lovely little piece of fabulous! Beautifully thought out and crafted and as usual your colour choice is gorgeous. Clever thinking with using those hooks and eyes to use for the closer. I would never have thought of doing so but that's why you are the "master" and I am the grasshopper. Love those drop beads... the colours are divine and add a lovely balance of texture with the surrounding seed beads. If I'm not over stepping the bounds may I make a suggestion as to how to fix that end cabochon problem. Re glue the edge of the cabochon. Work a small length of thread and work only on the top of your work (leaving a small tail)and work through several of the surrounding beads and as you go tie knots to the thread that's already there and then work (peyote style) to build another row or two around the top of the way ward cabochon. You could also add a decorative bead thread from one side to the other to form like a spider web design on part of the cabochon. To tie off just do the same as you did with the thread at the start. Run both lose thread ends back through some beads and burn of thread. I hope it makes sense.... some times it's better to understand if I was sitting beside you. You may have to repeat on the other side to give it balance. I have my cabochons now and I am in the process of working out the design, colour and beads that I am going to use... have some thing in mind. This is so exciting and can't wait to finish all the boring prep work so that I can start to do my "grand design" lol, lol. I have had trouble with buying the Ultra Suede but have found a cousin to it...it's called Butter suede. It does have a slight bias and tends to fray a little if left cut awhile before its sewn. I made a small sample, glued it to a piece of stiff felt and worked an edge using many different size beads and it's still nice and tight with out any fraying...so it sounds god to use. It is very cheap to buy and a piece 20 cms x 128 cms ( I think that was the lengh) cost me $3.20 Aust. I have enough to make a large number of other designs. It's what I used to make my glasses case with. The felt I mentioned is a tiny bit thicker than what you use but it works just the same and is only $1.70 Aust. Its the same size as buy a felt piece. Head that little cold off with some lovely hot lemon and honey topped up with some bubbly lemonade or do you call it soda before it gets a hold.....don't want my little bear getting sick before part two of your video! Looking forward to seeing the second part and so from a warm evening here Down Under to my Little Polar Bear.....Rise and Shine and have Fabulous Day.... Blessings XXXXOOOOOO

      +Chris Phillips I'm back as I forgot to tell you in case you didn't see it that our wonderful friend Kerstin wrote a lovely little novel of her own. It's on you last video down the page. I didn't see it for a couple of days after she wrote it. She did a great job of writing it in English. G'Day Kerstin if your reading this.

      +Chris Phillips Thank for the heads up on Kerstin's novel! I'll check it out later today - hi Kerstin if your reading this :) Now to address your novel - WHAT A GREAT IDEA TO SAVE MY BRACELET!!!!!!! With the Ultra Suede being on already there is no way I can get through from the back unless I peel it back!!! Thank you for the suggestion - obviously I LOVE THE IDEA YAY!!!!! I really wanted to wear this one but was worried about those stones! Stupid on my part for not putting them on more securely! I always say to viewers - I make the boo boos so you don't have to lol

    • @chrisphillips1893
      @chrisphillips1893 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Bronzepony Beaded Jewelry Boo Boos aren't mistakes just a means to reinvent an idea on how to create. Example. In the northern part of Scotland where the famous Aaron knitting was created by the wives of the fishermen who fished in the freezing North Sea. They lived in a time where house work was really a chore..... cooking on a wooden stove to washing clothes by hand.....I think you get the picture. These women also had to help bring in the catch and get it ready for market. Another one of their chores was to make and maintain clothes in particular warm woolly jumpers, hats e.t.c. They would spin their wool and then they would start to knit. The garment had to be thick and needed to trap in the warmth. They never had pattern books or counted stitches .... they simply just knitted. They created patterns that made their garments thicker and as time was very limited if they made "a mistake" they just left it and kept going. They didn't get upset and panic stricken like we do to day. And thank goodness they left in those mistakes because they are what we follow today using charts and getting all worked up by making a boo boo that we undo rows to correct it. Many mistakes can be corrected by simple methods... just look at it differently (with a calm mind, you can also refer to one of my odes to restore that calmness ) and you can see how to work it out. A lot of crafts follow few rules so there are no rules to say how to correct... just relax and go for it! Craft in any form is taking an idea and making it your way so if some one notices or is picky as to what you have done then just tell them" it's my design .... I made it that way and I love it!! If you multi craft, e.t.c like knitting and Embroidery use the knowledge from both crafts to help correct those boo boos to fix those annoying little horrors. I gave you a little bit of Embroidery combined with Beading advice to help you with your problem. I hope that I have explained what I mean. And by the way my little bear you are far from stupid.... in making those boo boos you show that you are human and a good teacher and that it's OK to make those mistakes. We spend to much time today worrying about the small picture and forgetting to look at the bigger one.......just think what the knitting world would have miss out on if those lovely women from the North Sea area stop to correct those "Boo Boos" ..........

      I so love you Chris :) Woman of wisdom, Wonder Down Under, Celtic Goddess, and all around great gal!!! Thank you for the parable! I often need clarity as I get so wrapped up in my craft! We do indeed have a creative connection as my favorite kind of knitting is Aran Knitting! I love knitting cables and knots and have so many pieces I have made over the years. I will have send you pictures sometime! Hugs x

    Hi Stephanie! LOVE your videos! I've been binge watching them for the last three days...My question is this: I have a very petite frame and my wrist is only 6 inches. How do I compensate (take away) from this tutorial to make a perfect fit? I love bracelets but have only 2 because I find it so hard to find my size. Making my own I can have as many as I want!! I'm just a bit confused on changing cuff size. HELP!! Thank you so much for these lovely tutorials.

      @BronzeponyBeadedJewelry  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Angelles LaVeau Hi Angelles and thanks for your lovely comment 😊 Make your length of bead backing shorter to fit your wrist. You might need smaller stones for your smaller wrist. Maybe a 13x18 center stone. The rest of the design should fall in place once you have a smaller center stone. Hope this helps!

I have tought, they are great big and i could easy bead with that, because i have to wear glasses. But i realized, the big beads look not so great on most of projekts i saw on youtube. :-( I invest so much monay on bads which are too bigg, because i am begginer and beading bring so my peace to my soul since my mother died shortly time before, couse i am so sad still..! I founded the beading bring my feelings little down.

      Hi Sharon🌻 I think most thick fabrics that don't unravel when you cut it will work. If you have a local sewing shop or craft store check out the remnant section for scraps of leather or ultra suede. Maybe a piece of felt would work. It's the unraveling that is the issue. So anything that won't unravel when cut will work. Hope this helped💐
