OMGoodness a OWL. I love owls, always have. I am new to beading but I can’t wait to have a go at this. I am Soooo excited!!! Thank you for sharing this videos and your talent❣️❣️❣️
You are so cleaver Stephanie! I never would have thought of using the cabochon to draw with! WHEW! nice little trick for those of us who literally cannot draw a straight line! Your owl is adorable! It would make a cute brooch I think! Thank you for sharing. :) :)
+Sharon Godbout Thanks Sharon :) I was trying to find a way for everyone to make this little guy. Using the cab as a template seemed like a good idea. I love the idea of a brooch. I think that is what he will be :)
WOW, could you be an more creative. I don't care for Owl Jewelry, however you never cease to amaze me I'm in LOVE with OWL CAPONE ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️. This is a must do!! God has certainly smiled on you my friend.😘
Ahhhhhhhwwwwww I LOVE owls.......my next project for sure! I SOOOOOOO love all your stuff. Always exciting when your name pops up in my emails. Yayyyyyyy
I absolutely love it. I have a friend who collects owls and I'm gonna try to make her one. Thank you - Thank you. I also thought using the cab to trace the body is a very clever idea.
This is a great project. I think I might try and make a bunny. With your tutorial, tips and tricks I think I can pull it off. I think I can, I think I can.
Have been waiting to get hold of some bead embroidery supplies to have a go at the pendant, but this is my favourite and will be the first on the list. Love it :)
Stephanie, you never cease to amaze me with your skills. Beautiful. I saw you trying to make the eyes, you had a hole in your ruler, couldn't you have used it?
+76livika LOLOLOL very "Punny" 76livika hahaha!!! Yes, we are going back to the bead weaving. This was a nice change for me a I was running out of creative bead weaving ideas!
It is nice to venture into unchartered territories from time to time and I am really looking forward to make the cuff with the cabs (name escapes me). There is a shop nearby where they sell cabochons but I wasn't very happy with the colours I received from ordering online. So I will pop in to pick my pieces. I have never done any embroidery so it was lovely to do something new. Do you know the feeling when you are enjoying the making of something so much that you don't actually want to finish the piece and in the same time you can't wait to see it completed? Life's dilemmas are making me laugh. I had another dilemma recently, will post details on facebook (Livia Benova) if anyone is interested, but lack of interest from others never stopped me doing things I wanted . xxx
+76livika well put Livika !! I often feel the same way 🌻I also get that feeling when reading a good book - can't wait to see how it ends but enjoying it so much that I don't want it to end 💕 Have fun with the bead embroidery - so much fun and do creative💜
So beautiful! Funny you said that, E6000 gives me a headache also. Does the elmers glue work for gluing down the cabachon? I imagine you wouldn't have used it if it didn't but still leary. Thank you sharing your masterpiece!
The beads hold the cabochon so it should be fine. They make an e6000 that is odorless. That one doesn’t give me headache. I make sure to keep a window open until it dries anyway 😃
I just love this, I've made a few now. Would it be possible to do one as a turtle? I've tried to envision it but can't seem to come up with something. A doctor's assistant really helped me out recently and I'd love to show my appreciation by beading her a turtle - her favorite reptile. I made a 3D one using 15/0's (as a keychain), but thought something along the lines of the owl would be great! Thank you, either way, I always look forward to your new inspirations!
I found FabricTac to be just as strong smelling as the E6000. I think I prefer the E6000 over Fabric Tac to be honest. It's so strong that it has held a double hummingbird pin that for some reason had separated years ago, and is still holding strong.
G'Day My Creative Master, "Owl Capone" did it just come to you or was it many hours of coffee drinking and a large writing pad to come up with this little bit of satire!!! It's a shame that the real Al didn't possess the great wisdom and virtuous ways of an owl....he may have become famous for all the right reasons! This is a wonderful way to play with beads for many of your other little grasshoppers who haven't done this type of work. It provides a wonderful way in which to play a round with colour and texture on a design that is achievable as it is completed quickly. My muse was being it's usual cheeky self and nudging the little grey cells with a flood of ideas that you could do with little woodland creature. For one idea you could make smaller "little Owl Capone's" and join them by any means of connecting techniques to form a necklace or you could place a little twig between his body and tail (to give him the look of sitting on a branch). You could also do a back version of him and then glue the two halves together, sit him on a twig and then make little owls or leaves and make it into a mobile and hang it so when it moves you will be filled with his wisdom. Owls are said to have strong spiritual powers and are considered to have a positive life energy that can benefit us two legged creatures. If you look long enough in to their eyes you will start to feel their energy connect with your life energy..... it's very rewarding and humbling as it is not given lightly but to a willing spirit to honour and be strengthen by. I have just remembered something that I was going to tell you and forgotten to do so (may be remembering has something to do with talking about owls)..... the E6000 glue that is used needs to be used with great care. I was reading the tiny printed warning on the tube and discovered that it is one that you must do outside with lots of fresh air!!!!!!! I will let you read it and you can find out what I mean. I am now looking into finding another one to use. Have you started your challenge design yet? My is coming along and I am loving every moment of it. There is so much freedom with this technique and this is why I think that it is so fabulous to do!!!! When I do this bead style, I work mine different to the way that you do. I work "Anti clockwise" when working around my Cabochons. This allows me (after picking up my beads) to position my beads where I need them to go. As my thread is facing up (towards the 12 o'clock) they fall back down the thread thus laying exactly where they need to be. I hold my work in my left hand and my thumb holds the thread flat against the felt and this makes it easy to sew the beads. The need to put the work down and then line up the beads and then pick it up has been eliminated. I find that working it anticlockwise is a faster way of working it and less trying on the hands. I guess it's the Embroider in me that seeks the best way of working items. Looking forward to seeing you finishing this delightful design. Nearly forgot again...hope that you were very spoiled on Mothers Day and it was fantastic. Hear from you soon..... Blessings and G'Night from your little Grasshopper......... XXXOOOOOO
+Chris Phillips Wow I love your owl missive!!! So much information, it will have to go in my Chris Meditation file!!! I was thinking about Harry Potter lol!!! I think an owl lives in my wooded backyard as I hear "hooting" at night from my boudoir! I could be wrong as I have never seen it. I love your suggestions! I had originally thought to embroider a baby sitting next to him on a twig but for a tutorial I felt it might be better to start with just him. Thank you for the info on E6000 ( I have the tube and never looked at the fine print lol) Have you tried Fabri-Tac? Its very good fabric glue and doesn't have any warning labels as far as I know. Thank you for the swing tips (you know tI'm winging it (no pun intended lol) when I bead embroider. I am always learning and appreciate your experience with the craft. I will do as you do to improve my techniques!!! I haven't started the challenge yet but I will this weekend. Another lovely piece Stephanie. Probably a 'wise' decision to put embroidery to a side for a bit, finishing with an owl. hoot hoot :-).

@BronzeponyBeadedJewelry OK, thanks. Didn't know they have an odorless E6000, thank you.

+1994abbygirl Thanks :)
E6000 is very strong and holds very well 🌻

Pleas tell me where I could get the beads for the owl. I went to five bead stores .i had no luck.
Hi Carmella🌻 FusionBead.com has all the beads you need for Owl Capone. You could try Artbeads.com, Firemountain Gems would also be good websites to try😄
What is this "Mother Earth" that you suggest going to?
Mother Earth Pendant on this channel! It explains in detail beading around a cabochon 😄
Bronzepony Beaded Jewelry mother earth pendant
just got my first row of beads on and the cabochon came off.
+craftygirl2247 Awww don’t fret! Glue it back on and try again. Try leaving it on your mat as you attach the beads. Your interior row will hold it in place.
+craftygirl2247 Also, If this is your first bead embroidery try the Mother Earth pendant first as it goes through the very basic bead embroidery techniques 😊🙏
