Hi Bonnie. I’m starting from your first episode and binge watching you today. 😁 I live in SoCal in the desert and it’s so nice to find another CA knitter. I’m currently knitting on my Rib Tee by Knitting For Olive while enjoying your content. Thanks for joining the TH-cam knitting podcasting community. ❤
Just flipping through my phone and saw that lovely curly hair and I saw your podcast name Knitter Obsessed and said she's my peeps. Well done on your first podcast.
hi, Bonnie. I’m a BRAND new knitter. I’m still just doing practice swatches and taking a lesson which is really like a knitting circle with an instructor. So lovely. I’m glad I found your channel!
Congrats on your first video! Instant subscribe when you talked about your other hobbies. And of course your obsession with knitting which I can relate. I'm knitting the Poet sweater now and it's great but just wanted to highlight that the sleeves are unusually small compared to other raglans. I'm knitting to the pattern gauge (using sport weight yarn) and I'm adding extra increases to the sleeve so I end up with zero ease there instead of negative ease. If you're planning to knit at a tighter gauge, even if you make a larger size to compensate, your sleeves may end up pretty tight. Just want to highlight that.
I just found you. I really enjoyed your video. I just moved away from Northern California in 2022. Maybe you will be a good influence re yarn purchases. I love color and sometimes can’t resist. I love forward to more content from you.
Hi! Thanks for a great podcast. That baby blanket is beautiful. I’d use the extra for a size 12 or 18 month baby sweater. They knit up so fast & when I had my showers, everything we got was for newborns so it was nice to receive something that can be used a little later. Look forward to more episodes. 😀
Hi Bonnie, I enjoyed your first episode and looking forward to more! For your leftover Brava Tweed, I recommend Selma's Sleep Suit by Petite Knit if you want another baby gift. I made this for our new grandson and it's our daughter's favorite sleeper - for nighttime, the carseat & stroller. Happy knitting!
Hi. Great job on episode 1! I totally hear you about just needing to talk about your knitting and to talk about it with people who get it completely. I live in Rhode Island and have been knitting for a long time. I think I joined ravelry in 2009ish when I was teaching myself to knit after a lifetime of crocheting. I look back and realize how adventurous I was in the beginning. I went from learning on dish cloths immediately into sock knitting. Garments that actually fit me is a pretty recent phenomenon... there were a lot of attempts but that whole gauge swatch thing escaped me. Anyway... enjoyed your podcast. Your leftover lovey blanket yarn could easily be some baby sweaters.
Hey lovely to meet you! I love ballet and lots of other artsy things too so share away! Would love to hear and there’s always room for a new hobby interest. Idea for the acrylic yarn … save and make a toddler sweater for your nephew. It’s a great classic color! Look forward to hearing more from you! Great job on your first podcast!
I’m making the same knit picks rainbow hues blanket. I’ve got 2 sections done, 2 more to go..but it’s tedious, so I’m taking a break. I’m going to outline it in black. And gift it to a friend. 🌈🖤
Hi Bonnie from the UK. Welcome to TH-cam. I really enjoyed your first episode and loving your projects. Off to catch up on your other videos. Have a great week ❤❤❤
You tube wanted me to watch you. Good job on first episode. Small world…. I know Sandi Rosner… the Lovey Blanket designer. I messaged her to watch your episode. You could double your left over yarn and make a super fun and bulky pair of booties to go with the blanket. I can make The Meraki Bootie in a day. I subscribed
Congratulations on your first podcast. Love your presentation style and your projects. Felt your excitement for the Wishbone sweater project. Can't wait to see more from you! Happy Knitting!
Found your podcast just now. I enjoyed it very much. Its funny how we always thought of knitting as a grandmothers craft. It is no longer that and i love seeing young people learning the craft. Your story about the teacher being a model in the knit book cracked me up😅 how rare that was. Keep up the good work.
Also obsessed with knitting- so much I haven’t made time for my other hobbies in retirement. Wrote to suggest you just save that acrylic for sweaters or other gifts for that new relative.
Congratulations on your 1st podcast. Great job. Just an FYI as a frequent Scotland traveler, you can pronounce Musselburgh as muscle-bruh. Bruh as in the slang men use towards each other.
Hi! Love your podcast! My kids distracted me so I watched it twice! Your red wishbone sweater is going to be beautiful. Can you talk about wearing hats with your curly hair sometime? I have big hair too and hats just feel funny to me. Can't wait for the next one! Thank you!
As you were talking about the lovey blanket, I favorited it and then unfavorited it when you said it was garter in the round lol. You are a lovely addition to the knitting podcast community.
Loved your podcast. Will be watching for your next one. Woo-hoo, Northern California. I live in Northern California, too! I would use your tweedy yarn to make a sweater for your nephew. Good Luck with your channel!
My name is Bonnie also and seems we have A LOT of common interests! I am knitting a vest with the same stitch as your sweater and also using my OWN handspun! I am holding a strand of mohair which helps to even out my uneven yarn. I've also knit Andrea Mowery shawl, most fun thing to knit ever! Your red sweater will be awesome! Look forward to your next episode!
I totally get your need to talk about your knitting or feeling like you’re not on an island by yourself in your obsession. Looking forward to your next episode. I knit but only started knitting for others a year ago but again, it’s not cheap and it needs to be for those that can appreciate it. That shift pattern is very enticing,I might have to jump on that knitting train.
Love your 1st episode. Why not use the extra oatmeal acrylic to knit you some adorkably cute Emotional Support Chickens? 🤪🐓 I’ve joined the craze and am knitting one now with extra scrap yarn balls leftover from recent FOs. Looking forward to your future episodes! Great energy and you seem pretty relaxed despite it being your 1sr episode-you’re a natural!
Great 1st episode..congratulations! My ears really perked up when you said "northern California"...I was born in Placerville, but grew up in Citrus Heights and have been in Roseville for 17 years. Thank you for sharing about the local sheep farm. I looked them up and Sebastopol would be a nice road trip for me! Their wool looks like it is probably Jacob, which is fairly common sheep for this area. I’ve been spinning some Jacob fiber and it’s lovely to work with! Thank you for putting a podcast out. I'm looking forward to seeing your beautiful projects!!
LisaR: If you're working in the round in Garter stitch & prefer not to purl every other row ... *Knit one round( make sure to place a BOR marker ) * Flip your knitting inside out - so that the side that was the back side is now facing you and ready to knit. *Knit the 2nd round. Flip the knitting back to the original side . Continue rep Rounds 1 & 2 just remember to flip the knitting as above . No purling - Garter in the Round ( I hope 😅)
My wife thought it interesting that the Hobby Lobby hook beat Cover. She also wondered if the roughness would help a beginner with the yarn but sliding off the hook accidentally.
I completely understand your need to connect with other knitters. I love the WIP blanket. It is very pretty and your knitting skill is impressive. I am looking forward to your next podcast.
I love your knitting excitement! I am the same, I am retired and knit every day. I look forward to your next episode. Loved all the yarn you have chosen too. We lived in the Atlanta area for years and I had the best yarn store in my town called Eat Sleep Knit, and belonged to several knitting groups. We moved back to our home state of Florida and I miss all my knitting friends. I am all alone, so I love watching knitting podcasts. They keep me connected.
Enjoyed your podcast and looking forward to future ones. Found several items I was interested in knitting myself so hoping in future the links will work in the description. Took me way too long to watch your video! Good luck with your projects and have fun.
Hi Bonnie, I enjoyed watching your episode. I grew up in Northern California 😊 I just wanted to say that you’re such a good auntie-taking the time to knit blankets for your nieces and nephew. And I admire how considerate you are in your fibre choices. I’m not always as kind with my gift knits. I prefer to work with wool too, so I admire your willingness to work with acrylic as a blessing to your sibling(s).
I'm so pleased you enjoyed knitting the Lovey Blanket! And yes that sawtooth edging takes forever, but it's so worth it. Those little details are what makes a design special.
They really do! And the edging, while time consuming, was actually really fun to watch come together. Thank you so much for a really beautiful pattern 😁
Hi from Massachusetts. I've been knitting most of my life (77, retired, yay more time to knit) and enjoyed your video, and subscribed. Wishing you success with your channel and looking forward to watching your videos. 😊
You did great!!! I mostly crochet, but I can knit. I’m working on a baby blanket for a May baby boy and also a Scrap Buster that will be a blanket for myself. I am really enjoying creating the colors that go together in my stripe pattern in the Moss Stitch. Keep up the good work! You crushed it!!!🥰
Great job on your first video! Happy to have found your channel and look forward to your content. Your upcoming projects look amazing (that red combo for the wishbone is going to be amazing!).
You have such a refreshing attitude toward your making. Thank you for the relaxed conversation style of the video and I'm looking forward to watching your blanket projects as you work on them. Love the sweater you're wearing.
For your extra Brava worsted there is another free pattern on Ravelry called the Roly-Poly Bunny that you could knit for your nephew too. It's pretty cute and you have the perfect color for it. Congrats on the new podcast and the new baby coming.
I'm not a knitter (yet) but recently fell down the rabbit hole of knitting podcasts so TH-cam suggested your video to me! I've been crocheting for a little over a year and have a pair of knitting needles on its way to my house today. I have a new baby and found what seems to be a fairly basic baby blanket pattern that I'd like to try for my first project - wish me luck!! Looking forward to your next episode 😃
Loved your video! I also learned to knit at a young age and had the same experience as you having it not stick because I didn't know what to knit and didn't have the right tools. It clocked for me when I was in grad school when I discovered that I could get books from the library to teach myself how to knit properly. I'm glad you found your way back to the craft!
Thank you! I’m glad you found your way back too. It’s such a rewarding hobby when it’s clicking but oh so frustrating when it’s not. It’s amazing what a difference the right resources and tools make.
Welcome! This was a great episode. I have been podcasts in Finnish for a while, but just recently made my first English-speaking video. I just can't seem to find viewers 😢 How did you already get so many views and subscribers? Help me!
Greetings from MN . Fun first podcast and I look forward to seeing your finished projects as you go along. If you want to send me your phone holder I could use it as I still only have a flip phone.
Hello from Canada 🇨🇦 😊. Awesome first episode! Thank you for the idea of the Favorite Flannel....I've been looking for the perfect project for a special yarn that I have. Espace Tricot (which is in Quebec) is "ess-pass tree-coh". Also, I have a very Scottish husband... Musselburgh is a town in Scotland. If you say "mussel-berra", it would be a fairly good pronunciation ❤
Knitting. Reading. And ballet!! Love it! I'm 56, and have recently decided to reawaken my inner child ballerina. This is so cool that you have a ballet barre behind you! Do you teach online? I live in Superior, WI. Also, I completely understand not having anyone to talk to about knitting. 😂 I'm glad I found your channel!
I’m so glad you found my channel too! I don’t currently teach online at the moment unfortunately, but I’m happy to share some resources if you’re looking for some great online ballet content 😁
For free online classes, my personal favorite is Kathryn Morgan here on TH-cam. Her classes are really clear and approachable and often she’ll do fun themes that keep it interesting and fresh. I also really like Ballet with Isabella, but her classes are only available on her website and they can be a little pricey depending on the subscription you choose. That said, her attention to detail and ability to break things down is unparalleled. For some fun ballet content without the dancing (in case you need a break from knitting podcasts 😄) my favorite TH-cam channel is Ballet Reign. Their content is a ton of fun and I can’t recommend them enough!
Thanks! I think the elbow situation is a combination of the yarn and just the nature of knitted fabric for something fairly fitted like these sleeves. The yarn I used is a bit finer than the original pattern called for and the fabric is fairly delicate as a result. My sleeves also came out more fitted than the pattern called for due to me knitting off gauge, and I think anything that fitted will just have a slight tendency to stretch over time. Luckily I think it will be easily fixed with just a little elastic 😊
It definitely took me a while to finally commit and film an episode. I’m just filming with my iPhone though so I think it’s totally possible without a lot of starting equipment. It’s been a lot of fun so far though so I say go for it if you want to!
Was sweater your wearing top down? Could you tell the name & designer again. Thanks Great job. As for me I don’t like a hour or more podcast. So 30 to 40 minutes better. Hope you answer texts. Best wishes. Nanny
Good video... Just a small thing, people don't want to hear about how you structure your video, it's not relevant to us. I almost just stopped watching because of it. Get to the meat of the video sooner and you'll get better engagement.
Most do it for a first episode and some of us find it relevant, especially as we gauge the content and interest. If you don’t like it, don’t watch. She did a great job for her first video! Not everything someone does (especially for a first time) needs a backhanded compliment disguised as “constructive criticism”. Plainly, just be kind to others. It’s truly not that difficult.
An obsessive knitter with other obsessions. We're from the same planet!

I love your podcast! You have a great smile and engaging presence. I’m a California knitter too! Keep up the good work😊
Thank you so much!
The Plum Grey reminds me of OPI's "You Don't Know Jacques" from back in the day.

Nice first episode. The extra worsted wool would be good for an emotional support chicken 😊. It’s on Knitting LA’s site or on Ravelry.

Excellent first podcast. I'm excited to see more. You were inspiring and I'm tempted to start my podcast back up. Keep going!!!
I completely understand your need to connect with other knitters. I love the WIP blanket. It is very pretty and your knitting skill is impressive. I am looking forward to your next podcast.
Congratulations on your new podcast. Great job! You’re very brave. Your work is lovely,

Really good first podcast episode. 🙌
I liked the colour choice for the wishbone sweater, will look so good. 👌

Great podcast Bonnie. I’m glad to see how many WIPs you have going. I always feel guilty not working and finishing my projects one at a time.
Hi bonnie , I’m pleased to have another podcast to watch , Thankyou for a lovely 1st one 😊
Great job! I really liked your first podcast. Looking forward to seeing more of them 😊
Hi Bonnie, I enjoyed watching your episode. I grew up in Northern California 😊 I just wanted to say that you’re such a good auntie-taking the time to knit blankets for your nieces and nephew. Hi from Massachusetts. I've been knitting most of my life (77, retired, yay more time to knit) and enjoyed your video, and subscribed. Wishing you success with your channel and looking forward to watching your videos. 😊
I’m glad I stumbled across your podcast. Lovely first episode!
I really enjoyed your first podcast and I see that there is another to watch now as well. Welcome to the podcast world!
Great first video! Looking forward to more.
You crushed it!!!🥰
Would never have known this was a first podcast! Looking forward to more 😊
I’m knitting my husband the Classic Men’s Raglan by Jane Richmond using knit picks Brava Yarn and it’s looking great.
I loved your podcast and excited for future episodes- thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much!
Welcome to the knitting world and congratulations on your first episode.🎉
Love your sweater
Hi I'm from the Netherlands, love the sweater you're wearing and all the future knits you showed.
Hello from Swansea, Illinois. Just found your channel and I subscribe to it. Good Luck!
Hi from Canada Great first video.
Beautiful blanket 😊 maybe you can knit a (emotional support) chicken by The Knitting Tree to go with it! Or any other plushie would do 🧸
You’re in good company! I’m a knitter obsessed too! Good podcast!
So glad I caught your 1st podcast.😊
For your extra Brava worsted there is another free pattern on Ravelry called the Roly-Poly Bunny that you could knit for your nephew too. It's pretty cute and you have the perfect color for it. Congrats on the new podcast and the new baby coming.
Ooh, I just looked this up and it seems perfect! Definitely adding it to the list.
Hi I am a Bonnie too! Great podcast!
Good luck, you got this!
Great first episode! You sound like you’ve been doing it a while!
Haha! If I ever find it I’ll let you know. I haven’t seen it in about 10 years.
Thank you! I knew I was butchering those as I said them but was hoping it wasn’t too bad 😁
My comment should read - I use it exclusively for purl ROWS. I tried to edit, but it would not post.
Welcome from BC, Canada
With the leftover white you could make your nephew a sweater for next fall or winter. Tin Can Knits has some good easy sweaters
Nice podcast how did you get so many subscribers so fast ?

Great first podcast greetings from Edinburgh Scotland
You might want to rip back and knit some plain rounds between your increases.
Cabled hats for donation with the worsted weight Brava?
Loved your video! I have been eyeing the Favorite Flannel sweater. Would you say the stretched elbow is a pattern problem or because of your yarn?
I do highly recommend the pattern though! I’m already thinking of making more in different colors because it’s all I want to wear right now.
Thanks so much! It looks really great on you!😊
I have been wanting to start a podcast do not have. Clue how to start and what to start with in supplies
Is Cast Away your LYS also?? ✨🧶😀 and congrats on your first podcast!
It is! And thank you! 😊
