You have 2 parts of the gacha fnaf community: the ones who actually have well written stories/plots and actually research the fnaf lore and character designs, and then you have the other side who 9 out of 10 times just steal designs from others and call it heavy inspiration and make the most cringeworthy videos ever- there’s no in between 💀

I believe the reason why most people make William Afton look like an almost normal dude with brown hair is because of his depiction in the FNAF The Silver Eyes Graphic Novel. I have read it and in it he is depicted as a pretty normal dude with brown hair and brown (or blue, it’s hard to tell) eyes. His purple pixel sprite is from the games.
Also, there are two purple people, William Afton ( The Purple Guy/the killer), and Michael Afton (William’s oldest son). Michael turns purple in FNAF Sister Location ( FNAF 5) after getting all of his internal organs scooped out by his sister (Elizabeth/Baby) and having his body be used as a skin suit by the animatronic Ennard for anywhere from a week to several months, in which time his body decomposed and turned purple. After that the animatronic left his body, but not before Elizabeth gave him some remnant which kept him from dying and he continued on as a walking corpse. Also, canonically, Michael Looks so similar to his father William that even Elizabeth, his own sister, couldn’t quite tell them apart.
Im ashamed to be a gacha fnaf creator after seeing how the community actually looks like. 💀

quick correction: William isn't a purple blob. He's in the shadows and the 8bit style depicts Shadows as purple. William has an actual design as a human in the graphic novels and is also described in the normal version.

William’s design is actually partially took by the books too, also we have a somewhat imagine of Michael’s design and we know that they look alike, so that’s why the human design looks like that.

As a gacha fnaf content creator, I’m questioning this just as much as everyone else. It’s like the community is split. You have the chill side that makes their own content, has their own interpretation of the lore and characters, and is generally supportive of other creators, then you have the “bro wtf” side.

The ‘daddy’ part may just be for one of his children, Elizabeth Afton who probably possesses Circus Baby, a jester circus animatronic. Elizabeth’s goal is to make her father proud (that father being William/Purple Guy), and calling him ‘daddy’ like a normal child under the age of 12.

As a FNaF Gachatuber, I can confirm that this is half of the community. I try to avoid this half as much as possible, and the only ships I ship are the cannon ones.
(Also, the "purple blob" represents William in the cutscenes. It's not what he actually looks like).

1:05 They probably got that design from a book series in Five Nights at Freddy's called the Sliver Eye. Although, it's not 100 % canon, it does have canon elements so many people just use his character design from the books to make William in gacha. However, it has been altered a bit. Small nitpick but Glitchtrap ( the yellow & purple rabbit ) & William are the same person however in the video it shows them as 2 different people. It's small but it kind of bothered me so I wanted to point that out. ( Edit : " Daddy " is a name his daughter Elizabeth calls him so don't worry. " )

And they seem to forget the fact that "Sun" and "Moon" aren't a thing. Its literally just called Daycare Attendant. He's all sunny when there's lights on, but murderous and moony when the lights are off. He's not two different robots, neither is he called Sun or Moon. Its one robot who is programmed with two personalities and appearances
The reason he's called that is because in the captions he's called sun/moon and also that's what he's "credited" as at the end of the game, and in the new fnaf book he's called Moondrop in the book. but yeah technically his actual name is the daycare attendant
