    Sanity for humanity in a brown robe, a smile, a few jokes and wisdom inbetween.
    If you watch each of his clips for an hour each day, your life will improve dramatically.
    Thank you Buddhist Society of Western Australia for the videos...

    I can vouch for the use of mindfulness as a treatment for depression, pharmaceutical drugs just mask the problem.

      I'm currently in a LOT of meds due to ptsd depression etc following an abusive relationship. I used to meditate and feel safe within my own thoughts, but I don't anymore. My goal is to be med free within 4 years, but I would take any advice on how to... Build up a tolerance? for being in silence again... I don't know how else to word it... My mind is very hard to be around these days

    Such a powerfull knowledge! It is our challenge to embody it in our attitude towards ourselves and towards the others.

    The formula of Metta bhavana, or meditation in love, starts with oneself and continues with others. So it's of the most importance to love oneself.

    I think it's a balance. You can't goof off all the time, but it is nice to relax and try to meditate.

    @cricket279 I personally believe that compassion is the compass for reason - if this is the case veganism should be a path for all of us to follow so no sentient being has to suffer so I can eat, dress, exist...this is our choice. Mindfulness in our life one second at a time. :-)

    @waxheadglossy Meditation is part of hinduism and the hinduism is the oldest religion of the World. Buddism does not differ from hinduism, it actually only ignors the gods and points out the priciples and way of the living beings. Hinduism has everything buddism does have but buddism only ignors some things and concentrates on some other things.

    can anyone tell me how "Buddhist invented meditation" Siddhartha tried many meditation techniques handed down from Hinduism. Pranayama, i thought, was what ultimately worked for him. Sid was dif. w/anatman and emptiness (no inherent essences) but that's analytic.

    i always read that the buddha learned the immaterial attainments from other teachers, but was dissatisfied with them and after engaging in the austerities he realized jhana and that was the specific path that lead him to insight. i'm unsure, but i thought jhana and vipassana together was led to his enlightenment. is this right?

    He's wrong when he says Buddhism invented meditation. Hinduism and Taoism both pre date Buddhism and meditation in integral in both.

    maybe its kamma in action. a negative comment produces a negative response.

    Go off and do your own thing, angry one. ! Figure out a way to get food, clothes, medicine, and shelter from the world, all for free ! and be happy, to boot. Good luck! You get to do exactly as you choose in this life. You and me; we introduce how it's all going to roll, right? No pity potters allowed. Amazing how slick these buddhists' strength is.... eh? good luck! Get to work! Build a life you love.

    lol... you might want to take down the subtitles for this video. they are hilariously inaccurate and will only serve to confuse any hearing-impaired buddhists that might be watching.

    • @Jackie371
      @Jackie371 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think you turned on the "CC" button. However, the closed-captioning person either wasn't listening too well or they don't know how to spell. Like, they put "weed" instead of "We'd". I'm excellent at grammar, but I got fired from a captioning business (Rev) for not doing enough videos - eventhough they said we could do as many or as little as we want. We got paid per video - extremely low pay. This video might earn you $10 and would probably take three hours to caption.
