This is far and away the best trailer I've ever seen for KSP. The choice of music is great and the cinematography is really well done and manages to get across the sense of wonder that you get from space exploration while managing to have clips of when it all goes hilariously wrong somehow not spoil the mood.
Over a decade later and watching this still makes me a bit teary-eyed. You did an amazing job distilling the feelings of wonder and beauty the game created. It will never be equaled.
And it's in that moment after the consistent burn brought the retrograde marker straight on the white speck above the blue and the measured jumps between throttling up and powering down, eyes transfixed upon the navball and the ever shifting values of descending speed. Struts already in the deployed position, "keep it under 10 meters per second" running through your mind along with all the infinite possibilities of what could go wrong mere centimeters off the ground. But they don't. Struts shift the soft soil and settle in, tap the X, engines cold. And then, silence. But beneath the composed face of a man who left home behind, shoot himself on a "carefully" put together rocket across the endless divide and firmly placed his kerbal's feet on the soil of the unknown, the spirit of the explorer wakes up. And you smile. Fun as it may be to observe the glimmering spectacle of failed launches, botched up landings and "meticulously" constructed vessels turning into fuel-less debris on an infinite orbit around Kerbol, it is in those moments when the final part of the journey ends and another begins, with engines silent, crew reporting, EVA to follow, science to gain. That is where KSP shines brightest. This game captivates the mind, during and after playing, at work, at lunch, in bed before sleep, anywhere, everywhere. Endless configurations from first to last stage, the what's, the when's and the how's constantly straining mind. The why already know. This game should be mandatory for everyone child from grade 1 to grade 14. No other game tickles the imagination and inspires, but doesn't force, learning about our own world and beyond. This is how you inspire a generation to look beyond the known and towards making the unknown known.

9 Years later and this video still gets me. I changed my career because of this game. Hung everything up to go back to school and study engineering. I haven't felt for a while this sense of wonder and this deep adventure flavour that space conquest gave me in my childhood; watching this amazing video made it rise up again into my mind.
_Gravity_ and _Space Engine_ were the last time I felt this sense of wonder. I truly hope soon enough in my lifetime space exploration will become affordable for the average human.

This is the single hardest game I have ever played. It has also taught me the most. Not many games make me feel like I've accomplished something after playing them all day long. KSP though... KSP when you accomplish your objective, you'll remember it for a loooong time.
When you finally figure out how something works in KSP, you don’t forget it. After three years of playing this game, I finally got my own plane working. Building from tutorials is great and all, but once it clicks, it is so much fun, and you even understand how something works in the real world too!

I've watched this quite a few times over the years and it never fails to get the old waterworks going - especially the last shots of the lander touching down and the team watching the alien moon.
Only once you can look down upon the earth from space can you truly appreciate the sheer beauty of the planet and how far we as a species have come. Surviving through some of the most turbulent times in our past to now.

I don't know much about this man, this once 9-year-old boy. I don't remember much about him, but one thing I can always look back on is this one comment.
