- This time we drive on the REPAIRED Shiradi Ghats road from Donigal(Sakleshpura) to Maranahalli. Also we will be covering Uppinandagy-Puttur highway.

Thanks bro :), yeah, after driving on the highway your car is going to get extremely dirty n muddy due to the construction work. So you must search for a good place to wash your car n spend an additional 700-900rs on it :)
The engine noise was similar to the diesel one, but the tank was filled by petrol.
Which car was used for driving?
Venue N line turbo petrol. It has twin turbo muffler exhausts, hence the sound
Last week I have driven from Mangalore -> Bangalore in this road. One of the worst experienced driving for a national highway. From BC Road -> Gundya (till shiradi ghat) road is is very bad state.
No free flow. 1-2 kms of new incomplete concrete road and suddenly there are part of the road just digged out thats all. Suddenly you need to break and shift to 2nd gear. Ur vehicle suspension will be damaged if you don't drive slow. Shiradi Ghat is ok with concrete road due to lots of protest 2 decades back. Around sakhaleshpur bad roads. From Sakhelashpur to Hassan new road is being constructed somewhat ok. All the way you cannot lower your windows as too much of white dust. Only from Hassan -> Bangalore it is superb and without dust. National Highway between 2 cities is problematic from almost 2 decades. So think of alternatives mysore-madikeri or Charmadi ghat.
I totally agree, Gundya to BC road is under construction, and the sudden stretches of mudroads are highly damaging. However I think once the work is completed which God knows when, it ll be amazing to drive on.
Also the alternative routes you suggested are no fun either, very small single roads and high traffic spoil the driving experience. Madikeri to Mysore is a pain in the ass to drive on due to traffic and lower width of the road.
Mudigere to belur road is again very narrow. If you ever encounter a truck it takes nothing short of a miracle to overtake it. However the road condition is amazing, no dust at all, absolutely no doubt about that. In charmadi ghat, if you ever get behind a bus, forget about overtaking it :)
@@cardrivingindiaenglish4526 Thanks for the info about the alternative routes. Need to travel in this route few times going forward. Hope at least in our children's time the high will complete. Another surprising thing is they collect toll from Mangalore to BC road. Initially I thought the toll being collected so that we have a neat 4 lane road from BC road to Gundya. No need to say disappointment.
@@bhojusringeri7064 that road is ok with a minimal toll fee. Now they have also tarred it a bit, so I am not against that. I think toll fee is in the range of 15-25, i have forgotten :), but yeah it would be better without a toll fee
@@cardrivingindiaenglish4526 Here rather if someone is coming from Mangalore, one will feel collection of the toll means a great super highway is awaiting you. But here after the toll complete disappointment. I mean that's what I felt. Initially I thought BC Road town is like that and next must be good. That wait kept on going and finally realized that don't expect just drive.
@@bhojusringeri7064 ohh, yeah now i understand, but the toll they collected is for using that 4 lane road btw BC road n Mangalore actually :), but yeah I agree that the way they have placed the tollgate creates wrong expectations :(
