Yo bro. It is indeed very easy. The only thing that I think is the big disadvantage is that it does not work without the Icloud app for Windows. Otherwise you could only have an online network drive, without everything having to be on your PC's hard drive.
Your comment is old but I'll explain for the newcomers that want info. It can help with issues that the windows version of iCloud conflicts with. If you're running a VPN or a proxy, you'll be cut off from being able to pull from your iCloud drive and download your files since Apple noticed you changed IPs. The only resolution to that specific issue is to restart the iCloudDrive tray icon and iCloudDrive .exe in task manager. This way bypasses the issues and still allows you to download and upload to the drive with a VPN or proxy. Hope this helps!
