rating korean fried chicken | bbq chicken, vons, pelicana, bonchon & left wing

this week i'm trying every korean fried chicken chain in the bay area and rating them to see which one is my favorite! Korean fried chicken has a very special place in my heart so getting to try so many different places in the bay area was super fun hehe. I agree that bbq chicken is p dry. Also when I went the chicken tasted like butt??? Like they didn’t clean it very well so I got dry butt chicken??? Maybe it’s just that location specifically (rip JSJ).
Bonchon and pelicana are both mid in my opinion. Tho I am outraged that you have to pay for bonchon at bonchon.
Vons chicken is god tier and I demand a recount 😤. I think that their oven chicken is really what sets itself apart from other chicken places. That cooking style kind of lends itself to more of a delicate crisp and a juicy chicken which is what I really like about Vons.
