As a County guard during college 86-90' I can tell you that rookie school was no joke. Physical, intense study, and no fear. While you had a team, you knew you were being evalued on your merits alone. After that, you were sent home and told to "wait by the phone" to get a summer assignment. Probably the longest 10 days of any early summer until that phone rang! Then it was GO!

My son is in the academy right now and he said it was gnarly but he's stoked. He's always wanted to be a lifeguard. I couldn't be prouder.
