Hey Rick! Great to hear from you. We're in Istanbul until the end of the month. Are you living in Tbilisi now?
Lock picker knew that, did'nt have to brake the lock, but he broke it to take more money. This is a big corruption in Turkiye. Just a thin slice of plastic, slide between lock mechanism of the door. That is it, it is open! Because you did not lock the door, it is just shutted.
It's possible. However, we were working through our Airbnb host, who we trust, so we didn't question it. Good lesson for the future though! Thanks for sharing.
@@HeGoesSheGoes It is not about possibility or your host. It is just about the lock picker. I always open my neighbor's doors when they need for free, for help like that stuation. Anyway, have a nice trip.

You are giving wrong information. What you said is valid for old doors without security. New steel doors have security. You cannot open them with a thin card. You can't accuse people of something you do not know exactly.
