Awesome Roo.. I can see you been pushing yourself too .. that’s really great stuff.. I know it takes a special kind of inner courage, will power, determination, tolerance , all that kind of stuff that shapes us into diamonds .. it’s a tough process learning to learn to improve , to change, to grow, to be out of our comfort zones, feeling unsafe .. I always said I would learn to draw myself but never got around to it .. I was going to write more on this but I had a phone call lol lost my flow now..
Thanks, James! That means a lot coming from you. Definitely agree 100% on what you said. I’ve never been great at getting out of my comfort zone, but I’m slowly finding the confidence to do so. Hope to see you tackle drawing again one day. No pressure though.
Great to see your drawings Roo, I liked the trees from the 6th of November and the 4th of December. I think the small book size adds to the difficulty and the pen is hard to get different line weights. Have you ever had the chance to use a caligraphy or manga pen? I look forward to seeing your next book if you do another sketchbook tour. I also wanted to say I liked the video layout, the items on the desk all compliment each other and the darker background made your sketchbook a focal point.
Hey thanks, Stephen! That’s a good point. I hadn’t considered the size of the sketchbook being a detriment. I actually haven’t tried a calligraphy or manga pen. I’ve seen some demonstrations though and it’s definitely on the shopping list. And I really appreciate the feedback on the video. I’m slowly studying elements of cinematography and general video editing, so hoping to up the quality of my channel.
You weren't terrible in the beginning at all! You had good days and bad days throughout six months. Congrats on drawing everyday!
Thanks, Pınar! Definitely more bad days than good, but I’m learning a lot from them 🙂
