I’m not sure why the Saka penalty is in question for simulation. Saka has an empty net if he stays on his feet…going down does not favor him.

White does it on every corner, and so does every other team. A player standing still isn’t committing a foul lol, his job is just to occupy the space and make it harder for the keeper to get to the ball. His own team United do it the same as everyone else.

@@danieljohnson4137 exactly. It's even better now than it was before. Cause I remember when White used to obstruct the keeper a lot and sometimes it would be a dodgy goal or the ref would call a foul, now he's positions himself better and basically just stands there doing no harm.

Agree but..., he definitely needs to start improving upon his goal contributions at some point but understanding his role and how it connects the rest of the team is step 1 in a team as tactically advanced as Arteta. Which I think he has done quite well, not everyone is a Declan Rice that just works from day 1

While we're in it and have a better 11 I think it's not wise to write the Scousers off just yet, we'll be needing them to get a result against City at Anfield. Saka was basically in on goal. Why choose a penalty when it's basically a go-ahead score? The keeper knew exactly what he was doing because he knew he was beat and Saka was clearly fouled. Also - Ben White (once again) shoved nothing. Where does this phantom narrative come from? Love you Goldbridge but it's turning into the Gary Neville Narrative Hour in here.

Totally agree with the point about consistency. Referees are hiding behind increasingly vague interpretations of the rules. Referees have the ability to completely turn a game on its head yet face basically no scrutiny.
