actually that spelling is an abbreviated form. you can abbreviated the combination of the suffix ག་ and post suffix ས with the reversed ཊ་

Tibetan is so funny, it's written སངས་རྒྱས། (sangs་rgyas) but they pronounce it as sangé, where did the dingbo ( ེ ) or é sound come from?
it is an "ä" sound, not a drengbu. that sounds almost the same, but it is a little different. :)
