Friend good night. I'm in Brazil and bought a 30 day Parrot Disco drone. After some flights and good landings he simply disconnected from the Wi-Fi and kept flashing the red lux and that's it. Do you know what it can be? Can you help me?
Hi Ismael Quadros, thanks for your comment. Something similar happened to me with my first Disco. But in my case was my fault because I interrupted an update before it finished. The disco never worked again, and kept that red light flashing. I didn’t manage to fix it so I changed it for a new one in the shop where I bought it. I hope this helped. Good luck!
Hi everyone, I also bought a disco some time ago, but up to now I see no point in removing geofence, as it has never so far managed to go any further than 750-800 meters without losing connection and then of course it automatically engages RTH. I usually fly, launching it in a football field close to my home, where there are residents/houses around in a 200 m radius... Do I need to get out in the wilderness to get a better range ? Can someone advise ? P.S. no mods on my disco, it is totally stock... really disappointed from the range capability so far and I wonder how others can get it that far/high...
Hi kostas, in my opinion the benefits of removing geofence are useful in two situations. 1-when you want to fly manually over the geofence altitude. 2-when you flight in auto pilot mode using Flight Plan, and you want the disco to navigate in a route out of range, and you don’t want the disco to activate RTH because you trust in the route planned. In my opinion this second point is the most interesting because it allows you to navigate far from your position in a well planned flight. Those minutes without connection are pure adrenaline! ;) And yes, 800m range is normal. It depends a lot on the obstacles and weather conditions. Cheers
I got it why one might want to remove the geofence at first place and it totally makes sense, although I do not feel that confident for the adrenaline rash you describe yet, hehehe... All I am saying is that I find it really hard to go any further than 800 meters at all. Most of the times I start losing connection at around 500-600 meters and it really disappointing for a drone claimed 2 km range... Is it that common to have such a poor performance ? Has anyone achieved the 2km range, and if yes under what circumstances ? From what I see, it should be really hard... or not ?
Hi again. I did it once. I reached 2000m distance without loosing connection. It’s true that I was flying in an auto Flight Plan, but I never lost connection with the disco. Actually I was able to control the camera an see in FPV. It was a very clear atmosphere day. Normally in that same place I loose contact at about 900m. You can check this flight I’m talking about here: th-cam.com/video/15DgHrdZMgY/w-d-xo.html
I checked another video, where another disco pilot suggests that if you change the location settings in the app, from european location (Greece is where I am right now) to United states you can achieve a much bigger range of flight, as it allows more Watts in the antenna or so... I will try this as well and get back to you !!! Again many many thanks !!
Columbus GAB Cool thanks for your quick reply :) it’s hard to find some info on this topic. There is a lot of talk about a dragon.conf manipulation.. I wonder why people bother with this if the answer lies right within the App. But I am glad to hear that it still works :)
Hi mate, I have FreeFlight Pro v5.2.7 with Flight Plan option activated. But the "Return Home during a Flight Plan" in the Settings > Safety menu is not present. Has it been removed or am I missing something ?
Thank you for a really good explanation of how to remove hight limits. Great job
How long the maximum distance by manual control, without flight plan
๋Journal Journey it depends, but a clear day you can reach 1,5km. Check: th-cam.com/video/15DgHrdZMgY/w-d-xo.html
when setting a flight plan you cant go higher than 150m, even with geofence off you cant choose anything higher so only good for flying in manual
Hi GAMING Richplayer. If you press and hold a point of the plan you can set manually the altitude without limitations.

...so if an update is interrupted, the disco will never fly again? :O
At least in my case, yes...
Did you ever fix the disco Ismael?
@@beefybeef1326 Do not. The parrot disse sucks

Hi noreason4, it still works. The menu it’s a bit different but with the same options.
