Used to run this configuration when I started on digital. Works well if you plan on working from the shack but all those wires are not ideal for portable operation. I got myself a digirig and everthing became much simpler. Mini DIN in the back, TRS into the CAT control jack and one USB cable plugging into the laptop. Add an OTG adapter and you can run FT8 on your phone using FT8CN! Another useful tool on the laptop would be JTSync. Enables you to sync your time without the need to be connected to any network or time server!
Thank you for showing the set up with the CE19. I'm currently using the simple mini DIN audio cable and cat control line. I only use the WSJT-X software. The rig selection is ICOM-705 as shown on Temporarily Offline Ham Radio's channel using the latest 1.8 firmware. Are there any advantages using CE-19 other than the ability to connect the Xiegu amplifier?
I've just watched that video, and yeah that's also a good way of controlling it. When I purchased the G90 & CE19 a few years ago, I don't think that lead was available, so it's just the way I've always done it. Thanks for watching 👍
Nice one Ben I have same USB sound card now and the radio is on its way so PC ops at home all good and guess what I have FT8CN as well and heard It can work very simple to connect to android Tablet. Up till now only decode what it hears but soon I shall have my G90 to experiment with. Great Video cheers 73👍
@@m7frs272 Due to my power supply kicking its switch and not working. I havent tried for two weeks been off the air. But now I sourced some new rocker switches and fixed it, so now can get back on the air, but my antenna not pulling in much on 10m propergation and so on. Cheers for asking.

Enjoy the G90 Brian! Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching.
I'm only just starting out on Ham radio and exploring FT8, but what is the point of FT8? I'm still not sure why i would want to do it.
FT8 is a great tool for seeing where/how the propagation is and how far your signal is being sent/received. Thanks for watching 👍
I rub digital on my G90 using a Digirig and WSJT-X. The CE19 and FLRIG are not required.
Yeah, someone else said the same thing. I'll look into that. Thanks for watching 👍
I looked at my FL Rig and noticed there is no Echo box to tick in my configuration window I am perplexed as to why?
Hi Brian, sorry for the late reply. Did you get it working? Ben.
