If you are looking for material, anything with sloped lawns would be very interesting. For example, how do you level a lawn with a significant slope without everything just washing down hill? How do you tune a mower so one side doesn't cut lower than the other on a slope? What mower works best on slopes?
How about an offset handle extension, where it could be slid from a center position to either left or right side so your hip would be aligned aft of the wheel on the side of the extension. Right hip aft of left wheel, extension slid to the left-side , and vice-versa. Couple of u-bolts and wing nuts or threaded knobs for assembly and positioning. Personally I'd rather watch the "Chatty Cathy's" do the side-step Cha-Cha.

I have newly planted but actively growing Bermuda grass. I haven’t mowed it yet. It germinated about a month ago. I have compact hard dirt. Should I aerate yet? I’m worried it’s gonna hurt the new grass
Hey I was on Instagram and a company is using some of your videos to push some trash grass product I took a screen shot of the add! Don’t know how to send it to you?
PGF is to hard to get! First time I order 2 bags, received 1. 2nd time 1 bag no issue. Just ordered 2 bags again and order cancelled. Had neighbor try to order and both his orders cancelled.
Hi Doc, I'm in center of North Carolina. Grass is mostly Fescue. Is it too soon to aerate and add humichar, and PGF Complete? I am just not knowledgeable about Fescue maintenance.

Hey, Doc! We got our house in 2017 and have bermuda sods in our front and sides of the house. We are both new homeowners so we didn't know anything about taking care of the lawn aside from watering and mowing lol. On the first 2 years, it was fine but it started to go bad now and crab grass is taking over our lawn and we have a really bad burned spots too even if I watered everyday. I live in NC. We use scotts liquid weed and feed but it doesn't do anything on the crabgrass. What is the best weed killer that I can spray that won't harm our bermuda. Also, should we do scalping even if our lawn looks bad with all the weeds and burned spots? I ordered liquid aerator coz we can't afford an aerator. Do you think liquid aerator plus pgf complete will help me restore my lawn? I know this is a very long message/comments but still I am hoping for your response. Thanks.
Ya dont do this. Not worth it right now. I'm in dfw texas also. Way too hot here. I wouldn't be surprised if his lawn struggled to come back without having a thousand dollar water bill
Doc, going back to your clothing gear video, I believe you said don't wear wool socks. Did you mean wear wool socks. It seems like I have had the red marks on my ankles every time I mow. The other day I bought some new hiker socks that are wool and no marks this time. It even looks like you are putting on wool socks. lol
I wear wool socks with composite toe work boots in the Oklahoma heat. I thought the older guys were crazy and trying to trick me....it works for wet feet. No more friction blisters
HI Doc - Does the Agrifab lawn sweeper sweep lawn clippings and aeration plugs in addition to leaves? Can it also be used to remove debris at the thatch layer?
@@HowTowithDoc I guess we'll have to completely disagree on that one. Dethatching gets the dead grass out of the way so that water, fertilizer, humic, etc has easier access to the soil. Even in your video, you show your granular products sitting on top of the thatch, not in direct contact with the soil.
If you live in a humid hot climate the thatch breaks down quickly before enough can accumulate to cause trouble. If you are in high altitude and/or arid climates it does not and you use a dethatch. Climate is a big part of the equation! When Doc did his last soil testing you could see that the thatch layer was about 1 inch or even less and I would bet he is mowing more frequently than most, creating more clippings but they are smaller clippings also. Proof of lawn health is in the grass and his grass is very healthy!
Verticutting and/or dethatching is exactly what you should do if you have a thick dense lawn... Aeration does help but I wouldn't state that you should not dethatch and/or verticut. That doesn't make any sense.
Doc! This is off subject but I figured you would be the man to ask ! I have a armadillo terrorizing my mulch areas at night you know what would be a good easy solution to scare it off? Thanks loyal subscriber

Doc, I have a well established yard from sod put down in early June. Its perfectly rooted with no bare spots or areas with issues. I have taken it down from 2.75" to 1.75" gradually as of this week. Would it be a good or bad idea to core aerate right now?
Doc, I have Bermuda in clay (SC) and walking in the lawn barefoot it feel like I am walking on concrete. Would aerating or adding up soil to the lawn be better?

It would be great to see a timelapse of the regrowth.
I have never seen or heard of this. But I can tell you have to have a passion for it.
You have all the nice toys Doc!!
Doc, you should design a "catcher" for the plugs attached to your areator so you dont walk on them

Use the aeration plugs to fill in your bare spots. Never fails 🤫
Thanks for the video Doc very helpful 😊 so why did you switch tines and go to core 🤔

Add Humichar when tilling... then PGF light once you move it.
Ok thx doc!

What’s that tool that sweeps up the core plugs???
When do we get to see an update?

I’m guessing these techniques will work for cool season grass like KBG?
Assuming no rain, how much water are you putting down on the front per day?
Should I core before or after weed killer treatment that you described in the 2 part you tube instruction?
You can use the plugs to make some good fertilizer compost dirt or something

Can I throw down pre-emergent, seed, humichar, PFG and the chicken feed all down in one day after spike aeration?
The PE will kill the seed ............ so no. www.bermudalawnguide.com/

I beg differ aerating plus fertilizer this time a year in dfw is good to do since we have not receive any true rain in over a month.
@@JM-yx1lm I am in the same boat as you two. Way too hot here in north Dallas to do that aeration.
Watch the previous video on scalping. He mentions when to do it. Basics after the day time temps are 90 or so.
Follow the Bermuda Grass calendar, but use the temps as a guide. I’m in DFW as well and just push the calendar back to March our temps.
Would it be a waste of time to NOT core aureate but just spike aureate ?
Spike just won't loosen everything up and does not last. Core is really the only way.

How do I get stared with Bermuda grass in my yard
is the billy goat easy to maneuver?
Yes, very unless you are trying to go uphill on a turn.
Why not dethatch or scarify it?
It's Bermuda. You don't do that to Bermuda.
is the same process apply to Tall Fescue or KBG lawns ?
What product are you referring to when you mention Double Kill?
www.howtowithdoc.com/aerating-bermuda-lawn/
Did a back yard scalp last night. Is aeration mandatory now or just heavy fert? I'm in North Texas.
Nope.... just fert is fine.
How To with Doc-thanks! Looking at ordering PGF Complete and Humichar so I can hit the ground running come Spring!
HI Doc - Does the Agrifab lawn sweeper sweep lawn clippings and aeration plugs in addition to leaves? Can it also be used to remove debris at the thatch layer?
Looks great! Thanks for the videos. What type of Bermuda is this?
When and why would you use the spikes?
Any time really.... they just don't produce plugs so it's an easy process. Use them on the putting green too
@@HowTowithDoc What are some of the reasons you would spike? Reduce compaction?
Is this advised for zoysia here in NC?

No verticut? No dethatch on Bermuda? Those are essential for a healthy Bermuda lawn.
Never dethatch a residential Bermuda lawn. You'll pull all the runners out. No need to verticut. Core aeration does just fine. Watch the regrowth.

14 year old house with original Bermuda sod. Never dethatched. Thatch never an issue, ever.

You do NOT dethatch Bermuda. You'll pull the entire growth system up which is the base of the growth. It's a tangled WEB of stolons.
What kind of sweeper do you have?
do you have a pump on your irrigation system?
Do you pay the people who help you?
Yes... talked about in earlier video
Forget the test patch. Bag that stuff up and sell it. I'd buy a bag. I could use that stuff like top dressing.
