    I've had to do this on my R8... The hardest part was removing the plastic wire harness cover that covers and latches to all of the coil packs. Once that was out, the connector was super easy. Great video, as always!

      Todd, yeah exactly those covers are a bit tricky, especially in your R8! Glad to hear it was a super easy procedure for your car too.

    Interesting, and completely correct of not wanting to splice the wiring

      Random Channel, yes 100%. It is a no go to splice into a harness unless you absolutely have to!

      John, glad you liked it! Wiring is a bit tricky and could be bad news if done wrong lol.

    Great video, the terminal tool you recommend is much better than the one I went with. Would have made life a bit easier.

    It would be good to mention that the original manufacturer of these parts is TE Connectivity and that the yellow colour refers to the wire gauge. 1.5mm here.

    • @TheBullRider
      @TheBullRider  ปีที่แล้ว

      Dalamar, good point! I wanted to avoid the wiring side of things but you are 100% right about the sealing boot indicating the wiring gauge size.

    The one thing VAG did right was molding the connector part number into the housing.

      Bendumober, truer words have never been spoken! It is a shame they are no longer manufactured in Germany. You can really tell the difference in quality even though it is still a OEM part.

    Great vid, always interesting! 😀 Saw you comment about considering a rebuild of the engine, I (and many others) would love to see that! 🤯

    • @TheBullRider
      @TheBullRider  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tanel, glad you liked the video! Yes I have considered it. Its the rebuild cost (AKA the cost of a used car) that I am having trouble convincing my wife about. Who cares about paying the mortgage when you have forged rods?! LOL

    I always take a picture of the terminal before taking the wires just in case the memory isn’t as good as I think.

      with CP pistons and quality rod guys are making 2000awhp appropriate fueling and turbos on stock sleeves. Who would you trust to do the sleeving machine

      @@nickyturboboy The block in stock form is great, i agree, but the problem is the Alusil coating on the cylinder walls has scratches from the cataltic converters failing.
      I want to bulletproof this motor to hit 200k-300k miles but I am a bit on the fence about re Alusiling the block.
      I have a gent in the San Franciso area that has done a bunch of these blocks with the correct torque plates for this motor, the works without it costing two kidneys and a liver. (I was quoted 50k for machining this block from Dallas Performance LOL)
