Boxing icon and politician Manny Pacquiao announced his candidacy in the Philippine 2022 presidential elections. Accepting the nomination of his PDP-Laban party at its national convention on September 19, 2021, Pacquiao pledged to campaign against poverty and corruption. He is considered by many to be one of the greatest boxers of all time, as the only fighter to hold world titles in eight different divisions. While some see Pacquiao as living proof that success is possible for anyone who works hard, critics say the high school dropout will merely be a puppet leader.

I do respect Pacquiao for his extraordinary skills in Boxing, but I lost my faith on him when he started to enter politics.

I applause Manny Pacquiao acts of running for the presidency but as much as I hate to say it, He will not be able to compete against other politicians or candidates whom is also running for presidency but again it’s nice to see that he is trying to change his country to a better place for citizen living there but this is the one thing that he will surely lose.

He is not suited for the presidential position. The head state of a nation needs to be intellectually excellent. He lacks knowledge about politics. I know that there are cabinet member and advisors but if he win he still has the more authority and power. Yeah he is our boxing pride. He helps many people too and a religious peson but a position of that caliber needs a strong candidate with high intellectual capability, knowledgeable about the laws, history and many other more. With only speaking English he find it quite hard, then what if its all about economics and politics, im not quite sure about him. Economics, politics, laws and etcs are quite complex matter.
Still better than Duterte though, who speaks somewhat better english but use profane words most of the time. Not to mention extrajudicial killings and silencing journalists.
