Finally, someone who does a detailed up-close demonstration of how to thread a Blind Hemmer machine. I don't have this one, but the one I have is very similar. (ConSew 75T) This is the best video of how this machine works and I've seen as many as I could find on You Tube. Great teaching demonstration. Thanks so much for showing exactly how that needle works.
I have this same brand and model machine and sewing is just amazing. Your video was really helpful for me to fix something I was not doing right. Your words are very clear and precise. Thank you once again dude 🙏 Cheers all the way from Auckland NZ
wow! this is a really awesome demonstration for a new owner of a blind hemmer. The instructions that came with mine were rather limited. This video had me up and running in a very short time. Thank you so much for the great camera angles. I bought one on Amazon that is branded Worlden. It is exactly like yours down to what was included in the accessory kit.
Wow! I love the way this guy presented the steps on how to use a blind hemmer. I bought one, but when I googled the model, on how to thread & use it did not show it. The instructions that cane with the machine are so hard to follow! I love this video presentation, it is detailed and easy to understand. Thank you.
This is a very clear overview. I purchased an industrial blind hemmer over 15 years ago and have never once used it. I had no idea how it worked and there were no instructions and no one to help. Now I feel I can have a look and try to figure it out! Hopefully it at least has oiling instructions. I’m sure it will need that first!
Thank you for your outstanding demo I have been thinking of getting one for my alteration business but was hesitant as I was unsure of what & where to get one. From your demo I feel more confident now so thank you again so happy.
Thank you enjoyed it immensely. Exact same machine I have purchased. It must also be known as a Reliable MSK-588 as that is what my instruction booklet is called.
BLST-2 with a nameplate in fron that's says "blindhemmer" is what I've had for years. It's he exact same machine. On my third power cord. It's hardwired in by my repair person since the plug is no longer made.
Brilliant Thank you so much for this. Well constructed, informative and helpful explanation. The slowmo was fascinating and makes me understand it a lot more. The tension explanation too is very helpful and useful. Very clever bit of kit this is. THANK YOU ~ ABOLUTELY FABULOUS.
I have bought myself and industrial blind hemmer. I know nothing yet. but feel like I know much more after watching this. Do you have a guide for choosing needles and needle sizes please.
Thank you for doing this video as when I was gifted my blind stitch hammer the instruction manual is not in English so I’ve been struggling a bit. Can you tell me what I may be doing wrong when I’m stitching it goes well for a while the thread seems to drop down and gets caught on a little pin and it breaks I’m very confused as to why or what I’m doing wrong. I’m using Scala thread if that helps? Appreciate any advise you can give me 😊
I just bought this exact blind hemmer as a spare to use at home. My work blind hemmer is an Omega (almost identical). The issue I have with this new one is with the pedal. It is either running full tilt or not at all. You can't go slow with it. I can with my Omega. So I'm trying to find a way to slow down the pedal for better control. Have you found a way yourself?
Hi there! Great video, very informative. Just sent you an email asking about whether this machine could do the stitch that I'm looking for. Thank you for taking the time to reply!
Hi you have made a EXCELLENT VERY DETAILED video THANK YOU. PLEASE could you tell me how to finish off on a hem. WITHOUT the chain stitch unraveling to all come Un done. How to I finish off. As the machine does not have a back stitch to finish at the end. Many thanks DONNA
Thanks. Only the end of the seam can unravel so you don't need to do anything about the start of the seam. Only if you're not using strong thread, at the end, position the needle to the far left, 'lift the foot' and with a sharp pull of the fabric to the left, the thread will snap off. As far as I know, that shouldn't unravel. If you want to be sure, just hand sew the thread in.
I would like to change the stitch length - mine is set at 7. The instruction mentions loosening 2 set screws. However I'm not sure which Allen type tool to use and mine won't shift at all. Any help with this would be most useful
Thanku👍 Not sure whether to purchase ZJ500 or ZJ101. Will be sewing drapes regularly & trousers, skirts. Is stitch quality very different between the two machines? Advice or yr thoughts wld be most welcome. (NZ)
My skip isn't working and the thread is always too tight after I took it to the repairman to put a new foot and cord combo that's long enough for me to put on a taller table. There's also chips in the paint now. How can I repair these?
the same type of stitching mechanisms are used to stitch neoprene wetsuits over glued seems but needle never goes trough the bottom of the neoprene , only through top fabric and the foam inside. i guess in that case edge guides would be useless and also stitch should be adjusted to be really really short but wide i wonder if this size machine could be used for fixing wetsuits though because of it's very short length as compared to how much volume is in typical neoprene "outfit"? considering you practically can't take a wetsuit apart it would have to be able to also work with squishy fabrics of around 2-5mm thick doubled up without piercing the bottom layer while stitching the top layer i am considering buying one of those machines, most likely used, because i am getting tired of stitching stuff by hand could you perhaps try your machine without any modyfications on a piece of neoprene (either a wetsuit or even a mousepad or yoga matt) just to try height and stitch length adjustment of a domestic unit like this. may cost you a needle or two though because i have no idea if it is exactly the same type of machine, and there is no much videos of wetsuit sewing machines showing the details either
Thankyou for your very helpful videos! We have just bought the tony 500 blind hemmer at work but having one problem. I have set it all up following exactly, got the correct threads etc. but when you try to sew the motor is going but nothing happens. Then once in a while , it sews really fast. Do we have an electrical fault? When I hand turn it sews so nicely with perfect stitch, I just want to be able to use the pedal!
I got the same machine and I ran out of oil from the bottle that came from the factory. can you please let me know what kind of oil I can you after? Thank you
Can you tell me size thread is? And mark.PLEASE. Can you tell me why my machine (Texi compacta) working like this START. 1.Go,she sewing .."Four second" sewing woow top..beautifull, 2. And ups thread.. he "jump" one second, and she again go to sewing..and she sometimes "jump" PLEASE EXPLAIN ME WHAT CAN I DO. Machine is new..and I dont to fix that.
I am an experienced sewing machinist, but I find this machine goes too fast, is there a way to control the speed, apart from the foot pedal as mine goes from stop to the speed of light I cannot seem to control it!
Great, great demonstration of how a Blind Hemmer works. Thanks for the great and detailed work. Cogratulations.

look up the Tony cm-500 blind hemmer. They have a number of videos showing how to thread it and use it.

Thank you, that was absolutly fascinating. I loved the slow motion part of the video, and am now considering whether I 'need' one of these machines :)

This was an excellent demonstration! Thank you so much!
Thank you for showing us so nicely how it works.
Very thorough. I'm new to sewing this was so interesting.

Great video. Machine is same as Consew 75T
Hi there! Great video, very informative. Just sent you an email asking about whether this machine could do the stitch that I'm looking for. Thank you for taking the time to reply!
Hi. It's difficult to say from the photo you sent. I would suggest you go to your nearest dealer with a sample to try it. Thanks.

Será que essa máquina semi industrial aguenta a rotina de uma oficina em tecido delicado sem saltar ponto???
Excellent tutorial. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!

How far up should the needle be? And my needle doesn’t slide into the farthest curve. What am I doing wrong?

i guess in that case edge guides would be useless and also stitch should be adjusted to be really really short but wide
i wonder if this size machine could be used for fixing wetsuits though because of it's very short length as compared to how much volume is in typical neoprene "outfit"?
considering you practically can't take a wetsuit apart it would have to be able to also work with squishy fabrics of around 2-5mm thick doubled up without piercing the bottom layer while stitching the top layer
