Im really disappointed they killed features instead of making it better.
I dont understand that either. Maybe there will be a trash advanced / pro somewhere down the line since there's a new lite version as well.
Sad Izotope run by marketing to noobs nowadays. It could have an “advanced mode” for power users and everyone would be happy, but no, that makes too much sense
+1 ...They trashed trash... Il stick to T2 and Ohmicide for at least 10 more years as it seems...
I somehow skipped Rift and Thermal bandwagon...
@@DaveChips You are missing out. I own both of them and Rift is incredible.
I still use trash 2, it would have been cool if they just kept it the same but optimized the cpu and upgraded sound quality
I couldn't find out if anything was changed for the existing algorithms.
Trash2 is clearly superior. Was gonna buy it if it became a competitor to Fabfilter's Saturn 2. But nah.
Not in this form no.
Yep. Sticking to saturn
Sounds great to me. I have Trash 2, so having both could be useful.
@@audiotoolshed I see what you are saying. I'm in no rush to get it, but I think some of the new features look good.
I actually managed to get an answer to a different comment in here.
But yeah, both make sense if you want to have those extra convolution sounds and use the much better GUI with those XY blends.
The GUI is sooooo much better than the original.
looks great! was wondering if Trash was ever going to get a facelift
It sucks, actually.
The old version is still sooo good, this kinda looks like a must-buy to me!
Trash is a spectacular plug-in, my first from iZotope many years ago. I love it because I continue to discover with it after 20+ years, and that’s unusual. The new version looks enticing to me, especially as the interface has always been a bit of a letdown. I love the concept of quadrature pads, a very intuitive way to find musically relevant sounds. Going to my account now!
No oversampling? big miss. All the most recent polular distortion/saturation plugins have it.
Seriously! We have free and stock plugins that can do oversampling, how is this a missing feature?
for the most tasks Quadrafuzz II does a great job, I must say.
Never underestimate that one. Cubase only though.
I wish Steinberg should release one for all platforms.
If it ain't broke....don't fix it - will keep the old instead.
Thank you for your always clear review.
Blue Cat's Destructor has exactly the same features.
To be honest, I thought it was just a copycat with a different GUI.👀
haha.
For what they are asking for it to be a regression in any factor I'd prefer to get Saturn, keep t2 & omnicide.
Would love to se an Ohmicide update.
I believe they have packed up shop all their plugins are now free once you create an account.
It is a completely différent plug-in, the features are also différent tonality.
It also absolutly has nothing to do with Fabfilter Saturn 2.
Purely for sound design.
I say yes.
Really bugged out that there's no oversampling or GUI resizability.
Yep.
Looks (and sounds) more like a completely different plugin instead of an upgrade. Sounds nice though!
Right? Could have been easily called trash medium or something ;-)
I still have trash 2 in the arsenal thankfully, although this does seem intuitive
that funk stock music is very obviously a take on RHCP's sir psycho sexy
Absolutely. Not stock music though.
It's not stock music. It is a section of sir psycho sexy, looped. It's the actual track but just with a section of it looped.@@audiotoolshed
@Dekoherence-ii8pw yes on the first part, no on the second. I recreated it.
the worst of all is the high cpu/ when i change parametres in fl studio i cant play piano notes anymore .. Not having that problem with other vsts
side note: so far it just doesn"t sound good to me somehow, the only good results i got from it so far was from putting it on kicks/subbass only
I think I'm going to wait this one out. The branding exercise that either they did or didn't do at Izotope is a disaster on this one. I think a lot of the sounds achievable with Trash (the new one, not the original, before Trash 2 ,_ see what I mean?) are likely attainable in ShaperTable from Kilohearts - and I have like three convolver reverbs, so I really don't need that. Best of luck Izotope - I think you may have swung and missed on this one.
It looks good I suppose, some other plug-ins I've got already sounds similar or better in action. No offense but it's not making me want to buy izotopes.
Regardless, good demo Marlon.
Oh, for sure. Trash / Trrash 2 are classics of course; this new one, not so much.
Nobody has mentioned the new FREE version Trash Lite!
Will do a short on it.
Do the Trash2 presets, by chance, still work here?
absolutely not.
that sucks...so you would need both plugins installed?@@eartho
Trash2 was way better. And today I would buy Saturn2 or Rift.
This looks more like a Baby audio knock off than a new Trash version. Trash 2 has so many more options for tweaking audio. Maybe Trash 2024 is for beginners and beat makers who want ease of use instead of deep control sets. Trash 2's complexities were its main strength.
So basically, they "trashed" the good old features and created a mix of Arturia's Coldfire and Fabfilter's Saturn. Still sceptical about this.
Go it for $7.25..and still kept trash 2😉
this trash should be free as a great way to get users into iZotope, while leaving Trash 2 at a premium price and giving it support
Great overview. Unfortunately this is a update i will pass on.
*Compared to Trash 2, this version is trying to live up to its name*
I won't be buying anything from izotope, native instruments (had only cheap and free stuff anyway) some old stuff still dope but naaah no thanks, already annoyed that they did not add a desktop version in RX9
What do you mean with desktop version?
RX8 had a stand alone app,since RX9 its only vst@@audiotoolshed
@@audiotoolshedhe means a standalone version, which Isotope said they got rid of for whatever reason. It's on a blog post or something as to why the latest plugins no longer have standalone versions.
yeah I was confused for a second since rx10 has the audio editor and the plugins in there.
It doesn't look like a plugin from izotope
yes it does, it looks like ozone
@tendingtropic7778 I think so too.
My opinion is it not worth it
It somehow look less professional than how it look before
I think that Izotope forgot why they even made the first plugin and people from that time was already kick out of the company
I think the new look is much better, trash 2 has this 20 year old gui. I dont understand why functions have been cut.
no thanks. thanks for the review though =o)
;-) You're welcome!
Love some of the products but I think "Soundwide " have lost it currently.
It’s all native instruments now. Sound wise has been ditched.
@@audiotoolshedI know it was sarcastic after what’s being happening with the state of the company and Dirks departure.
We need [sarcastic] [/sarcastic] tags ;-)
They're working toghether with steinberg. CB Pro 12 could't load Trash2 on mac why so ever, sice it's a VST3 64 bit plugin. They want to force customers to upgrade to 3. No way! i'm done with Steinberg and izotope!
Its trash i rather have trash2. Oh hell
Trash became a trash !
Imma just gonna stick with what works .. this isnt the best imo. Had to wait a decade to be disappointed. Thsnkgod i still have trash 2
Looks like a downgrade with some features I don't need. I won't be getting the upgrade.
a non scaleable vst in 2024 is really trash. thumbs down!
It's 100% a downgrade.
The vibes are off with iZotope rn.
Yeah maybe. I havent been wow-ed by them in a while.
Huge disappointment , the much older Saturn 2 is far superior
Absolutely terrible. NI itself went from innovator to the Guitar Center of DJ software. These are a ton better plugs out there now. Save your money....
