@@AsiaaLache I am Juans mom my daughter has him and he will be flying home tomorrow. Thank you for caring we can use all the prayers to help him get his life back.
Heres an update: Juan is up here in Cleveland, staying sober and getting his life together. We were in treatment together and I still see him multiple times a week. He has came a long way. Hes a great guy and a solid friend.
He said crack stopped his racing thoughts. This says to me, his mental health needs to be evaluated as neglecting this aspect will cripple the possibility of successful rehabilitation.💔
At the same time, it’s not a short stint, it’s a thing, but you can move on. I know there a certain element of being fucked off that gives you an air... it’s fucked up but being seasoned can be a thing. You broke the code bro, you know what you need to be where you need to be. You are worth more.
Someone needs to show him Amanda's story quickly, especially if he is at risk for schizophrenia. He is so fresh his mind is still in tact, prayerfully it's just the motivation he needs. God bless this soul.
Please try to show him Amanda's videos. His family history means he is at risk of mental illness that can surface at this age and especially crack can induce schizophrenia. Please please please try to convince him to get into not just a detox and rehab program but to get a mental health eval. Too many of us Black folks who have the most generational trauma on top of living (in Tupac's words) in this white man's world are the last to seek mental health help. It's hard to find but he needs help that is culturally capable- he def needs a Black male counselor and mentor for the long haul- someone who is not family and is a professional but not a bourgoise / boujshy (however it's spelled) elite. There used to be a spot called IBCA/ Institute on Black Chemical Abuse here in Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN that was good but they changed their name.
His story reminds me so much of Amanda’s. Hes only 22, completed some college, and he is fresh in his addiction to crack in this interview. Mark please do updates on him. I really hope that he breaks this cycle fast and doesn’t quickly deteriorate in the updates from his addiction the way Amanda started to. Praying for him

@@Trill_I_Am That's so awful to do that just to make money man that is going to seriously scar you psychologically particularly if you're not gay or bi yourself. So sad. I actually think if it's got to that stage he may already be a bit of a lost cause. Maybe that stuff is more normal in the states though.
@@elastronaute1198 it’s not normal for a straight man to sell his body to other men. I had my addiction with weed in the pass. If I didn’t have any money, I would sell or pawn my personal items. For me to sell my body, the addiction gotta be very powerful and uncontrollable. I don’t care how bad life gets, I would not suck another man’s penis or get penetrated in my Rectum for a couple of dollars
The fact that you have to listen to other people’s horror stories in order to feel good about yourself is concerning and in the future you’ll still have to eventually battle your own struggles & insecurities.
Juan don’t waste your life. You have so much to offer. You are very intelligent, good looking still very young and well spoken. I hope and pray that you can turn your life around and do the positive things in life that you are interested in. Don’t wait too long though! Don’t get stuck on skid row like so many have. Good luck Juan.
He has so much potential I hope that he finds his way back to him!! The drugs aren’t who he is. Young man you can do it!!!! Get off the drugs & live your life to the fullest.
Damn Juan. You’re on the knifes edge. I pray you will will-yourself in the right direction. You’ve got so much to live for bud. You can do it. Just find the help and get back to your family and friends.
Juancito, you are still so young!! You can definitely turn this around, reach out for help- you are still at a point where it's still fresh-- please son you can have a life worth living. Stimulants are a big big no no for kids of folks with mental health issues-- you are still in the zone where you can get out, nothing could be a bigger help to your mom, I swear! Praying for you kid, I bet you will break the curse, but before providing for anyone, you need to learn to love yourself, she wants you to heal more than anything. You are sweet
Problem is the things he's done to support his habit can drive him to continue to get high to forget it. He's not alone though. A lot of men have done things to make sure they get high while out there. He shouldn't feel shame.
Fellow Clevelander, here. I am hoping + praying for you. I truly believe you have a magnificent future ahead of you. GTF out of the city where you’ll have a hard time breaking free. Allow yourself to be surrounded by people who love and will support you as you get clean, rebuilt, and break free. You deserve it.
I wish I could reach through my phone and give him a big hug. He seems like such a sweet guy who just lost control over his life for one moment. It's not too late for him. He has a lot of potential. Never give up.
This guy is young and will change his life. He’s going to be great! This will be his testimony when he’s fully recovered. The owner of the channel never seems to use positive reinforcement. I want to here more positive because many people go through these situations and change. It’s not impossible. He will overcome this!
wow...I sure hope someone takes the time to help him...he is not totally gone yet & can be turned around in life ! I see so much potential in a future for this young man !
Wow, we are the same age. Juan, you have a good heart and good intentions. You want to support your family.. I know you are able to beat the addiction and fulfill your dreams. You have this entire channel and its followers rooting for you. ❤️
I went to his Facebook & contacted one of his friends to put in the urgency to get him out of Cali and to bring him back to Ohio; the friend called his sisters and they getting him sometime this week!
This breaks my heart. he looks like my teenage son. i wanna scoop him up, give him a huge hug, and tell him it will be ok. He has the potential! just hit a bump in the road. I hope he finds help and his way soon! He's precious.
@@elastronaute1198 i think he may be attracted to men and feels a certain shame when it comes to it. Maybe the crack gives him the confidence to explore that side of himself. It’s also the way he jumped to say “but I’ve had girlfriends before” after admitting to having sex with men for money. Before you start, I am not homophobic. I am here for everyone being free in expressing who they are. Until he is comfortable expressing hisself, the crack will always be his crutch.
@@TheGeminiAlex I think you may be right. I was shocked when he said about selling his body. And it is interesting he qualified it with the girl friends comment. He certainly could be confused about his sexuality. On the other hand, he could just be doing it to get the fix. I was shocked by it but other commenters have said it's pretty common for addicts to go down that path.
Wow. You can see in his eyes (two different eyes) that he's at risk of schizophrenia. So many people self-medicate when they feel the symptoms starting. He's the right age too.
His eyes look zoned out, for sure. And there is a genetic link between ADHD and schizophrenia, and the way he described crack use as calming his racing thoughts set off alarms for me because it’s how any stimulant affects me (I have ADD). While they amp others up, they zone me out, similar to what he describes. I hope he can get proper medication for anything he might need
This one was tough to watch, I have a son who’s almost his age and is a college student athlete. I just want to hug Juan, I really hope he gets the help he needs and gets into a school where is can still play baseball. If your seeing this Juan, I’m sending you love! You can do this ❤️
It's crazy how much potential Juan has. Going to FL or Cali for rehab seems to never work out. I pray that he remembers to be safe while he's working. A couple tricks on here have admitted being HIV+, and there are many more that wouldn't tell you. This bright and promising young man doesn't need a permanent consequence caused by this temporary situation.
I'm proud of you for recognizing your problem and the root of it, step one is completed. Now you have to move on to step two and practice that discipline you talked about. I belive in you, you're not alone.
A very simple search online proves that he is/was a baseball talent in Ohio. Waiting for his ID to get on a plane to get home is only going to worsen his situation. Juan pleas get on a bus and go be with the ones who love you. Mark, this is not the first person youve interviewed who has come to LA for recovery and ended up on Skid Row. I this highlights the truth that most rehab centers milk their patients for as much money as they can get through insurance and the families and care very little for the sick. :(
My hearts breaking after watching interview with Juan, what a beautiful, kind, smart young man, who's hit extreme hard times for someone so young.. How to help? I wish I had a magic wand to make his pain go away, some prayers might have to suffice.
Mark these videos are making me consider getting a second degree in Psychology! I am from Greece, would you consider making a couple of videos these people live in LA bc I have no idea what they look like and I'm not able to just pay a visit and see for myself! Thank you for these masterpieces
Juan, i hope you can break this addiction. I know how hard it is to break free of an addiction. I am almost 2 years clean myself so I know the struggle. You are worth it! You are loved! This 🌎 needs you in it! Please take any help that is offered to you. It took me losing my mom who was my absolute best friend to open my eyes and make me want to get clean. I lost everything in my addiction including my kids. Today i have a home, a job i love, a wonderful fiancee and my kids!! I was in active addiction for 9 years!! If i can do it you can do it!! Ill keep you in my prayers!! We do recover!!
You may feel a release whenever you use crack, but that will fade. Get out while you can, and seek professional help. Get on state insurance and fight for your recovery. I went to Passage in California, and there were people there on state insurance. They were able to go through detox, therapy sessions and speak with a doctor who can provide you with medications that will actually help with your depression and anxiety. I am a recovering addict (2014). I get depression, and I get anxiety. I also understand having a father with a mental illness. You've got this, Juan. You're a very smart individual, and it shows.
Juan hey 👋 I’m in Dayton Ohio you are enough! You’re amazing person! You can get clean! Come stay with me! You’re future is not this! You’re greater than all that skid row ish!
Thank you so much for being the person that ASKS, Mark. There are people who will eagerly speak to someone else about things that happened and there are those that grew up learning to keep their mouth shut. You do an excellent job just asking. Your demeanor and non judgemental presence allow people to feel enough belief in you to respond. I wish I could tell you things for about 10 minutes, I'm sure most of your audience does. I think you're brilliant. 💜💜
Sadly many children of parents who have a significant MH diagnosis use drugs to self medicate. It's a response to the trauma they experienced as a child. Acute Childhood Trauma/Experience ACT/ACE is damaging and many adults are suffering with the trauma of ACE/ACT more needs to be done to create more safe spaces for adults to address their childhood trauma 😢
@@marylougeorge9890 I I've in the UK. Trauma Informed Interventions based on the ACE/ACT Research aren't nationally available. Signs of Safety is model that was to be rolled out nationally but no surprise local councils either didn't buy the full training package or only brought part of it so in isolation it didn't work 🤔

Its time to leave this addiction, you're way above n beyond better than this, I know it's hard but I see you getting out of this and making your story motivational for many young Americans going through this. You're a very smart and special individual Juan, you're gonna pull through for your family only because you have to🙏
Breaks my heart how young he is with all that potential, hoping for the best.
Please keep updating us on him! He has so much potential that can be transferred into purpose! l see you Juan and will be praying for you. Keep your eye where it belongs on your future and your family. Please let us know how his journey goes!
I was surprised when he said he sell his body to support himself. I was expecting him to say he panhandle or steal for money.
does he mean selling to gay guys or something?
@@elastronaute1198 chances are 9.999 out of 10, he’s selling his body to men. If I was to guess, most of clientele are down-low men.

Thanks for helping keeping me humbled by listening these stories. Someone always have it worse.

So handsome. So much potential. Hopefully he gets ahold of the addiction soon.
He has so much potential I hope that he finds his way back to him!! The drugs aren’t who he is. Young man you can do it!!!! Get off the drugs & live your life to the fullest.
I truly hope he gets the help he needs to fight his addiction, before it's to late.
Damn Juan. You’re on the knifes edge. I pray you will will-yourself in the right direction. You’ve got so much to live for bud. You can do it. Just find the help and get back to your family and friends.
Wishing this young man all the strength. You got an open road to more beautiful sights, my man. Stay strong, stay healthy!
My daughter has Juan he will be flying home Monday thank you for your kind words.
Problem is the things he's done to support his habit can drive him to continue to get high to forget it. He's not alone though. A lot of men have done things to make sure they get high while out there. He shouldn't feel shame.
Sounded like the condition of his mental health needs to be evaluated and addressed before he can recover and restart his life.
His poor legs and feet are swollen this is bringing me to tears
Hey Juan, I’m from Cleveland. I’m sending all of my love to you. I’m so sorry and I pray you get help soon. 🥺🙏🏾
So young and has so much more to live. Praying for his recovery 🙏🏾
I went to his Facebook & contacted one of his friends to put in the urgency to get him out of Cali and to bring him back to Ohio; the friend called his sisters and they getting him sometime this week!
Thank you Jesus! I hope and pray he beats this, I believe he will!
He’s hopefully going home on the 3rd of June

Damn whoever let him hit that rock is the most fcked up person ever. You know what is does to people & still let him try it
That’s jealous ppl for you 💯

Addiction isn’t the only battle he’s dealing with. He need to come to terms with something else before he can beat his addiction to crack.
what something else is that?
You hit it right on the head I love people who can read between the lines
Wow. You can see in his eyes (two different eyes) that he's at risk of schizophrenia. So many people self-medicate when they feel the symptoms starting. He's the right age too.
He's already fighting racing thoughts.😢

You can do this ❤️
He has such a good heart. It breaks mine.
You can do this, Juan. DON’T GIVE UP!
I wish to see him recovered. He seems like a very good person, and reminds me of Amanda. Maybe Lima could help him ? 🙏
This is true. Thats exactly what's happeneing on skid row.
His dad broke his heart first.
Juan you have so much potential and we're rooting for you. You can make it out of this and be a leader to others in the future. God bless
Come on Juan, we want you to make it
You may feel a release whenever you use crack, but that will fade.

Thank you so much for being the person that ASKS, Mark. There are people who will eagerly speak to someone else about things that happened and there are those that grew up learning to keep their mouth shut. You do an excellent job just asking.
Well said 🌺

Quality mental health care/services is the Greatest need in the US!
